Face-Blurring in videos

Dear Photoshop Users,
which Photoshop versions allow me to blur faces in videos ?
I searched a lot and the only thing I found out is that CS5 extended is definitely capable to do that...

Help !!! cover a face in a video with a picture ?

is there any way to place a picture over a face in a video? I'm trying to edit a video and place my friends face over the actors face. I don't care if its time consuming just wondering if it is possible. any help is greatly appreciated.

This TUTORIAL will give you the full instructions on doing what you want to do. It was done for PrPro, but will translate perfectly to PrE. Instead of "softening the skin tones," just imagine that you are blurring the full face.

Cropping out someone's face from picture and overlaying just the face into a video

Hi.
I posted a couple times here about using AE to do the following for a video. Though I changed up the idea a little. Here it goes:
Imagine this video. A youth hockey game and the kids are lined up on the bench and the announcer calls their names and one by one they skate out from the game and onto the ice.
During this intro, I have added their names in scrolling text as they come out onto the ice. I used windows live movie maker and saved it as a video.
Then I put that video into After Effects so that I could then put a pic of each kid's face next to their name. I used the team photo and cropped out each player's face to use for this. I used the GIMP program to do the cropping.
However, I cropped them out in a rectangular shape. So when their name scrolls across the video at the bottom of the screen, their face then shows up beside their name but in rectangular form. In the background of the kid's face is whatever was there in the team photo. So basically it's their teammate's or coach's pants or jersey.
To make this all look better, I want JUST the kid's head and shoulders as the image beside their name. Not a rectangular pic with stuff in the background. So the shape of the image is essentially just their head and shoulders. The shape of the pic in any picture program will always be rectangular but what I want is a transparent background so that when I overlay the kid's face onto the video beside their name, all we see is their head and shoulders.
With GIMP, I can use the select tool and trace around their head and shoulders and "crop to image" and hopefully that makes the background transparent. But what I need to know is if I can then overlay it onto the video in AE and get the result that I'm looking for.
Can someone tell me if they have any experience with this? Overlaying any image onto a video in AE is easy, but doing it the way I want to is not clear to me.

You can either use masks in AE to cut the kids out or, if you save out of Gimp in a format that supports alpha, you can just import the already cut-out picture. Also, as I mentioned in a previous thread to you, if you have the heads cut out and saved in a format that supports alpha, you could drop the heads in with Premiere too.
You really need to start here: Getting started with After Effects After Effects is many leagues more complicated than something like Windows Movie Maker. You will land in even more frustrations if you skip a foundation.

Mask a patients face in medical video

I am new to Final cut and I need to mask or blur the face of a patient in a 5 min video clip - in still photos I just put a black rectangle over the person's face but how do I do this in video when the person is moving around.

Hi, I just watched a Collin Smith How to Hide a Face with AE video. I'm stuck on mask movement size

I created the mask successfully and I can get it to follow the face while hiding it... but as the person moves away, I'd like to change the mask to a smaller size to avoid covering more than the head.

Hi, your video was extremely clear and I followed along well. My one question is... what if the person moves closer and further away. When the person is close my mask is perfect, but as they move away it becomes too large and covers shoulders and back. Is there anyway to adjust the size of the mask like we do the position as he moves? Thanks again.

Visual blurring with video out

I am using the video out to a 22" CRT monitor and am seeing a lot of blurring. I use the same monitor all the time with my desktop PC and have no issues. But when I run it out from my Power Book I see all images repeated a few times, slightly to the right. Not sure the best way to describe it, but like little echoes of the image repeating to the right and fading. They are close, and only repeat a few times, but it makes for tough reading and difficult detail work for the fuzziness.
Is there an easy solution for this? A hardware repair?
I am using the converter that came with the Power Book (not a digital connection on the CRT).

I am still having this issue. Am I the only one? Any ideas for solutions? I have tried different resolutions, different refresh rates. The monitor is fine, it works great with my desktop. But when I switch to the G4 I get these repeated images. Each icon, line, letter, everything is repeated and fades away to the right of the original.
Thanks for any thoughts here. It is very frustrating doing any kind of reading or detail work.

Blur background video

Im using FCPX 10.1.3
I insert a freeze frame for a clip in my video. I am overlaying a smaller picture over the freeze frame. I would like to freeze frame to blur while the picture is being displayed over the freeze frame.
I almost positive Ive done this before in one of my previous projects but I can not find it. How can I accomplish this?

Apply the blur effect on the clip you want as BG. Select the BG lip. Adjust the starting point's amount (probably zweo)of blur – using the slider in the Inspector, Move the playhead to the point where you want maximum blur. Change the amount in the slider. Fine tune.

Problem with face book talking video. Can't stop it

I opened one of face book entries, and a video started playing and its continues nonstop, I can't get it turned off. It's double talking.

Yeh I get that too. I'm in the process of backing all of my tunes up so I dont have to rip all my CD collection again lol. Im then going to format to the entire player and put say 20 tunes back on and see if the problem is still there. If it is I'll try putting the new 'playforsure' firmware on.

Am using a good camera. Have done one video before and it turned out good. The video from the camera is not blurry at all. Just now. I need help.

It is a new Sony with an 80 G hard drive. Don't know the Model number - it is being used by a friend right now. I have taken other video and made a DVD and it was just fine.
I am not sure what the Project preset means.
I did not have any effects on them, but added some to see if it would makee a difference. It did not.
I do see blurriness in the Timeline, but origianlly the clips were not like that. Nothing special about the clips.
Yes, bluriness observed on a TV. Tried 2 different DVD players, but again, I can see the bluriness in the Timeline now, but I couldn't before.
I just looked at the original of one of the clips and there is no bluriness.
It seems to me in happened after I rendered the files. Is there a way to unrender them without losing all the movie?

You can use iChat to Video to PCs that are using the AIM for PC app or have the Trillian App with the Pro Add-on (which costs).
As you list OS 10.7.4 you may find you can find a copy of the Messages Beta (technically it was withdrawn before the release date for Mountain Lion that has the Full version)

I need some help with my video - need to blur some footage.

I was wondering if somebody could help me out with my video. I've got some video footage downloaded from the internet (with permission, of course) and I was wondering if there is any way I could blur the clip and then have it slowly fade into focus. I know how to blur the video (the Gaussian blur effect), but I basically want it to look like I've filmed the footage myself and I'm slowly turning the focus wheel until the image is in focus.
Obviously it's quite easy to do in-camera but for my film I needed footage of animals and wasn't able to film any of my own so I needed to source footage online. It's really imperative to my production that I get this blur thing working so if anyone can please explain to me the easiest way to do it then I would be extremely thankful! (That's if it is possible at all... I sure hope so)
I've searched online but so far I've only been able to find videos explaining how to blur a small section of the image (e.g. blurring out logos, faces, etc)

For what you want to do, the 'Camera Blur' effect (Windows only)
will work much better than Gaussian Blur.
Add the effect to the clip (or to an Adjustment Layer above to the clip),
then use keyframes to change the amount of blur over a specified
period of time.

How to blur an image in my video?

Faces in iPhoto 11 video clips

I used to be able to add "Faces" to video clips in iPhoto. Now with the upgrade to iPhoto11, I can't do it any more. Any ideas?

Previously when videos were imported into iPhoto 09 a jpg was created from the first frame to use as a thumbnail. It's that thumbnail that was scanned by iPhoto for faces and not all faces in the video file.
Many videos end up with a blank frame at the start. So what good is the faces scan if it can only scan what's in the first frame of the video?
I'm guessing that's why it was dropped from iPhoto 11.

Blur video frame with NI PCI-1411 and JAI CV M-300 camera (urgent problem)

I am new with Vision and I need some advice with a problem, which I encountered.
I have a computer with integrated NI PCI-1411 board, which is connected to a JAI CV M-300 camera. I am measuring a steel part which is positioned in a dark chamber. The part is put on a glass board and is illuminated from underneath with light.
The part is moving. I have to measure this part when it reaches the camera region. I have made a test with not-moving part and everything is perfect. Now, when I move the part I get blur frames from video (with these no part measurement is possible). I need specify, that the camera has no trigger, so it makes video all the time (this video is later inspecting with Vision Builder).
I have tried to change parameters in MAX, but no involvement. I have found no proper icd/file for the camera.
I also could use a SONY DXC-950P camera, if this is better.
How can I eliminate the blur from video frames? Or what am I doing wrong? Is the camera not good enough? Camera + trigger would get better images.
I have attached the video frame with moving object (static) and the blur video frame with moving object (dynamic).
Please give me a answer or ideas as soon as possible.

You are using an interlaced camera. It takes half the picture (every other line), waits a split second, then takes the other half of the picture (the other lines). When it puts the two images together, you can see the two positions it was in when the images were taken.
The best solution is to use a non-interlaced or progressive scan camera, which takes the entire image at one time. The Sony might be this type of camera, since it has a P in its name. I didn't look up the specs.
If you can't get the right kind of camera, your only other option is to use fields instead of frames. One field is the half image taken at one time. The image will be half the height of the original image, though, which can mess things up.
Another possibility is the reduce the resolution of the image. If you take every other pixel in both directions, you will have a very clear image that is half the size of the original. You can do this with Extract in LabVIEW, not sure if it is available in VBAI.
