Face time activation on ipad2

Hi
Am not able to activate FaceTime on my ipad2
Any ideas?
Cheers
Ghassan

I have the same problem here. On my end I have a white iPad 2 16GB WiFI model and the other end has a white iPad 2 64GB WiFi + 3G. Both are running iOS 5.0.1. Usually we can leave Facetime running for 5-7 hours without an issue. Other days it'll have problems every 2 hours. The symptoms are somewhat similar to the ones you've listed...
The other party's image will freeze while the local image is still moving. There is no audio being transmitted in either direction. If we hang up and Facetime each other again then it'll connect but the other party's image will be completely frozen after the first few frames have been transmitted. The only fix we've tried to power down the iPad 2's on both ends and Facetime each other again. It'll work for a while again before it dies. These issues also occur between my iPad 2 and other side's 11-inch Macbook Air. It's a frustrating problem a la Windows 95 crashes back in the day. I suspect most users don't run into this issue because they don't leave their Facetime running for hours on end.

When trying to sign in to Face Time, I continually get "Face time Activation"  "Could not sign in.  Please check your network connection and try again".  I am able to access the internet via Safari, so my network connection seems to be working.  What am I doing wrong, and how can I access Face Time?

    Hey sklingen,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues signing into FAceTime. The following article may help to resolve your issue:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4268
You may also want to reset your network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: this will delete any network related settings (saved Wi-Fi passwords, etc), it will not erase any content from your device.
    Thanks,

  • When I go to settings and choose phone settings I don't see face time activation icon

When I go to settings and choose phone settings I don't see face time activation icon

Where did you get the phone? Facetime is banned in Saudi Arabia and UAE. If the phone came from one of those countries, it is permanently disabled and can not be added to the phone.

  • Why can't i logg in to face time with my ipad2

I can't connect to face time with my ipad2 anyone an idea how to fix this?
    Heeeelllp!

HERE'S WHAT WORKED FOR ME: I signed out of Facetime on my mac and then I could sign in on my ipad. Suddenly after 50 attempts, my ipad verified instantly (it didn't even send an e-mail, it just verified instantly). I guess being signed in on my mac caused some kind of conflict on Apple's servers. Now for the funny part: I was immediately able to sign-in again on my mac and now both my pad and mac have working FaceTime. You just can't be signed in on your mac when you are trying to setup FaceTime for the first time on the iPad. I guess.

There is no such thing as a FaceTime App in the iPhone. So there is nothing for you to delete and reinstall. FaceTime is built in to the system via Contacts.
Check and see if your carrier supports FaceTime. That may be the problem.

    Hi
I have bought Face Time on App store and it runs very well on my Macbook. But I can not synchronize it with my IPHONE 4. Do I need to buy Face Time with my IPHONE to get it on it? The same goes for my IPAD2?

Unless you bought the hardware version from some country that restricts FaceTime (examples from Middle-East), both iPad 2 and iPhone 4 come with FaceTime, so you need not buy the app separately for them.
*Be sure the "Settings" and "Restrictions" allow FaceTime on your iOS devices.*
If FaceTime is working on all your devices, normal synching between your iOS and Mac OS devices is accomplished through iTunes. The FaceTime apps are not synched, but the contact data from your all of your devices can be. When your iOS device is connected, check iTunes settings to verify that the "Contact" synch setting is enabled before you synch. Once contact data is synched between all your devices, your FaceTime contact info is available everywhere.

I cannot activate Face Time. Currently i am using tata docomo carrier.

FaceTime is not dependent on carrier.

    Greetings Hayg,
It seems you are concerned about the security of your Apple ID. That does sound troublesome. Changing your Apple ID password may help you resolve this:

  • Face time activation - an error occurred while verifying your email

i can't get facetime to work on my iPad - i go to settings add my account details and password (i know they are correct as i just logged onto my apple account and they worked fine) - and when i click on "next" the message that comes up is "an eror occurred while verifying your email" - i've rebooted etc but i can't get it to work - on ios5 it was no problem..help!

ever figure this out?  having a similar issue with a mac.com address...
we have a central mac.com email address with several aliases attached to it...all but 1 of those aliases have been successfully setup on separate ipods or iphones except for my wife's.
under "Messages," my wife has the central mac.com address and her phone number as eligible contacts.  when i try to add her mac.com alias it bugs out and gives me the "verifying your email" error...also immediate...no chance it's really pinged anything in the time it took to display the error.
