"Face Time" app for Video Chat between iPhone 3GS and PC?

Does anyone know of an iPhone app and/or PC application combo (besides Yahoo Messenger) that will support video chat between an iPhone 3GS and a PC (not a Mac)?
FYI, I can already do video chat without Face Time between my iPhone 3GS and an iPhone 4, over WiFi or cell, using Fring and a reverse angle mirror from ISeeU.

fring cannot "use" FaceTime. Only other FaceTime users can work with FaceTime.

The latest version of AIM (called Triton) doesn't work with iChat. Have you tried version 5.9 of the AIM application on the PC?
If that doesn't work for you, you could try Trillian, which has a better picture than AIM (The AIM video window is very small and not resizeable). The Trillian Pro version, required for video, costs $25 but you can try it free for 14 days.

Syncing Notes between Iphone 3GS and Macbook Pro

I've read all the forums I can about this, but can't seem to find the answer.
I want to sync my notes between my Iphone 3GS and my Macbook Pro. Right now when I add a note in my Iphone it automatically is added in my mail account in the Macbook.
However, if I add a note in the Macbook, it does not get added to my Iphone.
I'd like it to go both ways. Is this possible?

The issue is with configuring your iPhone. I personally gave up trying to make it work.

Thethering between iPhone 3gs and MacBook Air wont work!

I have used thethering between my iPhone 3gs and old MacBook without ever having any problems, but last week i bought a new MacBook Air and thethering doesn't work anymore.
When I try through USB it says in my internet settings on MacBook that iPhone is not connected - it is tho, cos it works fine with iTunes and iPhoto. If i try via Bluetooth the first steps of connecting works fine, but after it's connected a popup window comes up on my phone saying my MacBook Air is not supported, and connection is lost.
Any suggestions?

Video chat using face time with facebook video chat

I have windows 7 64 bit and ipad 2 and a mini ipad. I have cousin in Italy who uses Facebook to video chat using her web camera on her desktop/laptop. I would like to know if I would be able to chat with her via video if I am using Facetime on my ipad 2/mini ipad and she is using Facebook on her desktop/laptop.
Would that be possible if so, what are the steps. thanks.

FaceTime will only connect to another Apple devcie (iOS or OS X) using an address registered via Apple ID.
You might consider Skype. I don't know if it would connect to a FaceBook video chat, but she should be able to download and use it as well.

Is there ANY way to download apps for my newly acquired iPhone 3GS?

I recently bought an old iPhone 3GS handset off my friend, which she understandably compltely wiped, including apps. The problem which neither of us realised is that she had plenty of apps because she had obviously downloaded them when current versions were available for the 3GS. Frustratingly, I can no longer download basically ANY apps because they are not available for iOS 4.2.1 anymore. Is there a solution to this?? or am I completely stuck. I can't download even what I would have thought as 'standard' such as facebook, twitter, google maps etc.

Video chat between .mac account and AIM account

I have a G4 ibook and the person I am trying to video chat with has a Macbook pro. I do not have a camera attached to my machine. Nonetheless, he has one built in. I am unable to see him during our chat sessions. All I see is a blank white screen. I assume it has something to do with the fact that I aam using an AIM account. I dont want to spring foor a .mac account so does anyone know a way to get around this?

He should be able to invite you to a One way Video chat.
You are likely to have to alter your Quicktime streaming sped to allow the data to reach iChat properly.
Go to System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming tab and change the speed in the drop down to match your download speed or a max of 1.5meg.

Itunes needs to be installed properly and running. The driver should appear automatically Control Panel>Network>Apple Mobile Device Ethernet.
I'm assuming here, that tethering has been enabled on your account through your carrier, correct?

Swap Sim between iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4

I am going to purchase an iPhone 4, but must do so under my wife's line due to contract dates. I currently have a 3GS, she has a "standard" phone. She will inherit the 3GS and go with the iPhone data plan. How would this work in regards to the SIM's since the 4 has the mini SIM.

I was told by an Apple Store Genius they would only do the transfer of IMEI and phone #s at the AT&T store. Apple store will not do it.
The preorder receipt is quite clear:

Apple has nothing to do with whether you use your original iPhone, 3G, 3GS, or iPhone 4.
Your carrier is the only one that would have any concern.
Keep in mind that the iPhone 4 uses a microSIM card so you will need an adaptor to take that microSIM and use it in the 3GS or any other GSM phone.

Trouble video chatting between Mac Mini and PC. Prob. with Skype and IChat

I hope someone can help my dad and I because we have been trying to solve this problem since Xmas. I will try to give you as much information on this as I can so that someone can hopefully help us.
He has a Mac Mini (OS 10.3.9) and a Logitech Quickcam 9.5 and I have a PC. We have tried IChat 2.1 to AIM 5.9 and initially he could see me and hear me and I could see him but couldn't hear him. Now when we try to connect. I can see myself but can't hear or see him. We have looked through a lot of the recent forums and have tried what was suggested with no luck.
We have also tried Mac Skype 2.0.06 to PC Skype 2.5.0.151 but with Skype he can see and hear me but I can either only hear him (when he has not started the video) or only see him when he has started the video. We cannot seem to get both going at the same time. He has made sure that "enable skype video" is ticked in the skype preferences and we have tried ticking "start my video automatically" but it still doesn't seem to work. I would prefer to use Skype if possible because the video is larger and I am more familiar with it.
If someone can help us with this, I would be so happy!

Ok If this was a new computer and iChat was started when the computer was the first time then some settings will not have taken effect.
Go to System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming or Connection Speed tab (depending if Quicktime 6 or 7).
Set the drop down to 1.5Mbps/T1/LAN and restart iChat.
IS the Mac Firewall ON ?
In that case you will need this at the second pic.

Synching calendars between iPhone 3GS and MacBook Pro iCal

Since this morning, without having made any change to any setting whatsoever, entries made in the iPhone calendar seem to be duplicated in the iCal as many times as the two sync with each other. I've got the same entries duplicated 4 or 5 times. How do I fix this?

I've this problem now. Have you solved this? How?
