  • Face Time help - no sound

    My daughter has a iPhone 4S when she face times me I get no sound at my end but she can hear me ok. Any ideas?

    In an effort to help others experiencing the same issue:
    1. The Facetime audio problem has now been running unresolved for over 2 years (despite various changes in OS and over 95,000 posts on the issue)
    2. The consensus of opinion is that this is a software issue with Facetime that Apple is (conciously?) choosing to ignore for unknown reasons. Many of us have trawled the ocean to find solutons, but the disheartening conclusion is that there is still no fix as yet.
    3. People have been trying to resolve this directly with Apple tech support, but Apple either denies that there is a problem; claims to be unaware of it (sic); or suggests lengthy, time-consuming and costly visits to Apple stores that achieve nothing.
    There was a very good article in MacWorld by Lex Friedman, one of their senior editors ("Can't trust this: Inconsistencies shake faith in Apple" - Nov 19th 2013), highlighting that this kind of unresolved issue with the fundamentals of the OS and functionality is eating into the confidence of users in Apple as a brand, particularly as competition is catching up and doing things better.
    The aim at the moment is for sufficient people to make sufficient noise on this in the press to get Apple to fix it. The current approach of working through tech support, blogs or forums is not getting anything done.
    If anyone can shed light on why Apple is in denial and deliberately choosing to stick their head in the sand over this problem it might help us all?

  • Iphone to mac face time, help?

    my sister has the new iphone 4 but when she goes into the settings > phone .. "+face time+" doesnt appear there at all, also cant get face time to work with my mac.
    i downloaded the "+facetime for mac+" and when i try to connect to her it says
    "+... is not available for face time+" .. any solutions?

    From iphone, go to contacts, select the person to call, scroll to the bottom and select facetime.

    Attempting to face time for the first time...I could get to "connecting" but never actually does.  Using an ipad2 to iPhone 4s.  What am I doing wrong?

    Unless you bought the hardware version from some country that restricts FaceTime (examples from Middle-East), both iPad 2 and iPhone 4 come with FaceTime, so you need not buy the app separately for them.
    *Be sure the "Settings" and "Restrictions" allow FaceTime on your iOS devices.*
    If FaceTime is working on all your devices, normal synching between your iOS and Mac OS devices is accomplished through iTunes. The FaceTime apps are not synched, but the contact data from your all of your devices can be. When your iOS device is connected, check iTunes settings to verify that the "Contact" synch setting is enabled before you synch. Once contact data is synched between all your devices, your FaceTime contact info is available everywhere.

  • Face time help please

    I have one apple id and 2 iPod touch 4th gen's for the kids. They used to work on Face Time but since I updated my password the FaceTime no longer works? They both have separate email address's. "When I try and re input them its says Unable to verify email because it is already in use"

    I have bought this new imac and it has come with Facetime but it doesn't let me sign in. even when the internet connection is ON, it says, check your connection...Can anyone help?

    Apple is having server issues. Wait a little while. People are starting to report the can sign in but it may take up to 24 hours before everyone can.

    Face Time Help.
    How do you make face time calls to another country?  I keep trying and it won't work, although I know  other people who have been able to do it.  I just upgraded to OS X Yosemite.  Could that be the problem?  At one point, while I was on Face Time, it asked me to write in the country I wanted to call, and I tried, but it wouldn't let me type in anything.

    Check if you have set the correct language and country in your Apple TV. Maybe you are trying to connect to the wrong iTunes store.

  • Is there a problem with FaceTime, can not connect. When dial it connects and drops. When friends are calling me they have calling message and I have connecting but it does not connect. Need help, face time is my life line.

    There is a barely acknowledged issue. For Mac users Apple has released an update to the app, but for iOS users the recommendation is for users to update their ipad to the most recent operating system.
    There may be a fix coming for iOS6 users (which seem to be many of those having problems) or there may not be. If your ipad isn't up to date then you can update it and see if that helps, or if you don't want to update then you may want to wait and see if there is either a fix or if it fixes itself.

  • I have a mac book and it is kind of old. When I face time off the macbook it rings and actually calls the device but then while connecting it hangs up. And does it does this repeatedly. Any help would be great.

    For the iPad, iMac you need to create verifyible e-mail addresses created with one of the providers such as Yahoo, Gmail,etc.  For the iphone you should use it's phone number, but an e-mail could be used for it too.  If you want to associate these e-mail addresses with a single ID, I'm including a link to give you info about how you can do that. Read it carefully, as it can be a bit confusing.

    Lion comes with FaceTime. Look in your dock or in the Applications folder.

    I need help getting my face time and imessage to work. It is saying wating for activation. I just got my iphone 5 2 days ago. I have reset it from the phone and from itunes on the computer, made sure I'm attached to wifi.

    The 3 basic troubleshooting steps are these in order: 1. Restart your iphone  2.  Reset your settings/iphone  3.  Restore your iphone.  Since your iphone is only a couple of days old, you should backup your device before restoring.  If you don't have anything on your iphone that you care to lose, then simply restoring without a backup is fine.  A quick reset of pressing the sleep/wake button (top of iphone) and your home button simultaneously and holding it until the silver Apple logo appears.

    I forgot my original password..my ID was disabled..I did factory restore through iTunes..I was sent email from apple with the 2 step recovery..I had followed instructions only to find one part that asked for my old password before I could re set a new one !
    It's driving me nuts..it's ridiculous and I'm still unable to use any apps or face time..
    Please help if you can..I'm desperate and apple support can't or won't help me so if given up.
