I iphone4 black. wich is not shows in facetime app in my phone but my friend has white iphone4 its shows facetime.i dont know how to fix kindly help me if its not available kindly guide me. its used by 4.3.3 before now i updated 4.3.5 still not in here how?????

There is no FaceTime app on the phone.
It is built into iOS.
Go under contacts, pick one who has an iPhone 4-scroll down.
Do you see a button for facetime?
Is your phone from the UAE or neighboring countries?

It is not saying it is 3G either.
It is not listing an iPhone 4 (only the 4S)
It seems whether 3G can or cannot or if the iPhone can do 4G and it is available it seems that particular model will not.

Check all of your folders to see if FaceTime is in any of them.
If not, check your restrictions (Settings>General>Restrictions) and if restrictions are on, and you know the passcode, then FaceTime might be turned off. Turn ON to veiw icon on home screen.
Let me know if this does/doesnt work.

SW Update: Start Time: Not available - Service is not running

Server Admin reports the "Software Update Service is: Running" in the Overview window. The clients are being updated from the Software Update server. The Server Admin tool also reports "Start Time: Not available - Service is not running". The Server Admin tool also reports "Last Check: Not available" from the "Settings/Updates" window. However, all new updates are available. Diskutil has verified permissions too. What needs to be done to correct the reporting?

Hi Jeff, if you try typing 'sudo serveradmin fullstatus swupdate' in the terminal what do you get?
If it still says stoppped then try typing 'swupdctl start'
I sometimes need to start it from the command line.

Check Settings>General>Date & Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure that the time zone setting is also set correctly.
If that didn't solve the problem, restart your iPad and try again. If that fails, reset your iPad and try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I hate being the bearer of bad news but a quick search on Google indicates that the UK iTunes Store is not doing business with the self-governing Bailiwicks that comprise the Channel Islands.

HI there. Anybody knows if FaceTimeAudio only is available? I can do only full Face Time with video.
My understanding was, that this feature will be available in iOS7 and when released, also in Maverics.

I agree, you can even find this info several places on the internet - that facetime audio should be supported on Mavericks as well.
I am in the same situation ... I can not see that it has been implemented in Mavericks yet ???

A new audio-only version of FaceTime, named FaceTime Audio, was announced during the annual Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote speech on June 10, 2013, and released with iOS 7 on September 18, 2013, and OS X Mavericks in Fall (Northern Hemisphere)/Spring (Southern Hemisphere) 2013. As a new audio-only version of FaceTime, it effectively makes the protocol into a voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), that competes with other mainstream providers in the field, including Skype (Microsoft), et al.
Based on the same AAC-ELD audio protocol, the service provides high quality audio. The iOS 7 betas limited FaceTime Audio to calls placed on a Wi-Fi network (the same original limitation of the video version of FaceTime), but the final release has removed that restriction to allow it to work over 3G and LTE data connections, as is the case with most carriers and plans with regard to FaceTime with video. If your facetime does not work and you don't see the facetime button when you try to initiate a call try texting yourself. Sometimes your phone company has deactivated your text messaging when you hook up your new Iphone 4. Phone them and get it reactivated and it will work. You need three things to activate facetime. 1. Cell phone service (naturally) 2. connection to a router (wifi) and 3. text messaging that works. A text message is sent to complete the connection.

Face Time not working consistently from Kabul, Afghanistan. Any ideas?

I am in Kabul, Afghanistan and have an iPhone 4S that I can Face Time with my family successfully. They are in the US. I am calling their iPhone 4 and Macs. When I try calling other iPhones and/or Mac's (also in the US), I get the error message that their phones are not available. From email exchanges I have made, with the parties I am trying to call, it appears that they have done everything they need to do to Face Time successfully. In fact, they are able to Face Time with everyone else but me.
Where I am located, in order for Face Time to work, I have to have the wifi turned on, iPhone in Airplane mode, and cellular services turned off. Any other combination will not work. The fact that I can Face Time with some people tells me that this procedure does work.
The only difference I can see exists in my Contact list. People that I can face Time with, have a "Movie Camera Icon" on their contact page Face Time button. Everyone else does not. Does this mean anything?

This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are many possible causes for it. Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. That could be a public Wi-Fi hotspot, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or at your ISP, not in your computer.
Step 1
Check the status of the service. If the service is down, wait tor it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
Step 2
Sign out of iMessage on all your Apple devices. Log out and log back in. Try again to sign in.
Step 3
Restart your broadband device and your router, if different. You may have to skip this step if you don't control those devices.
Step 4
From the menu bar, select

Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or invalid according to this web form, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
Step 5
Take the steps suggested in this support article. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.

From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If the box marked SOCKS Proxy is checked, uncheck it. You don’t need to change any other settings in the window. Click OK and then Apply. Test.
The result may be that you can't connect to the Internet at all. Revert the change if that happens, or if iMessage still doesn't work. Remember that you must Apply any changes you make in the preference pane before they take effect.
Step 7
Select from the menu bar
 ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
and click
Block all sites from storing information on this computer
Close the preference pane.
Step 8
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with iMessage. Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to find and delete all items with "iMessage" in the name. Log out and log back in.
Step 9
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.
Step 10
Boot in safe mode and log in. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.
If iMessage worked in safe mode, but didn't work when you booted out of safe mode, stop here and post your results.

Reset the NVRAM.

Reinstall OS X.
Step 13
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple Support.

I am from the Philippines I use to own an iPhone 4S then switched to iPhone 5 . The I message and face time after switching it on... States that waiting for activation. This seems to be a common issue within the last few days (at least). It also seems to be on Apple's end but one never knows. There are numerous other posts here in these forums outlining the same issue. Here are a couple of them:

Tried everything, FaceTime has an error occurred during activation on my iPad Air.
Maybe one of them will help you out, but if the issue is indeed on Apple's end, there's not much anyone can do until they resolve it.

Guys I have just contacted the apple support and i have a little chat with them regarding this issue as i have the same question, my case is i have bought iPhone 6 plus from the UAE apple store and for sure there is no FaceTime application or even FaceTime in the settings as they are disabling this feature in UAE, However i will use this i phone in Egypt which they are enabling this feature in Egypt as i have another i phone with Egypt Sim Card and it works fine so i asked them i want to use the iPhone 6 that i have just bought in Egypt and enabling the FaceTime is that possible ? and they replied with if my country are not denying using FaceTime and iMessage thew will work fine. as they are disabling this function by location only, so once i will be in Egypt i have to restore my phone and it will relocate my location Automatically and the FaceTime and the iMessage will work then as long as my carrier provider is allowing this function.
and actually that make sense as i never heard before anyone here in Egypt has iPhone with no FaceTime feature am always hearing this in UAE and KSA.
I searched a lot online for answer for this question and i always find " it will not work " or "it disabled you can't enable it" and i really get disappointed for those answers as i payed a lot for this phone, so i guarantee to you that it will works in your phone as long as you are not in the districted country, and if you don't believe me you contact the Apple support by yourself.
