Face Time not there on my iPod

Hi,
Can some one help me with how to put Face Time on iPod. I bought a new iPod 4 and it is on 4.2.1 version. I cant find the Logo of Face Time. I tried restoring the iPod to factory setting but sill cant find Face Time.

Since you bought it from Dubai, unfortunately you cannot get FaceTime because the government there has told Apple to block FaceTime.

iTech, First change your apple password, than go to 'setting' and than click on 'Facetime' and make sure your facetime email is right than retry. Also calling apple support can help you or the best way is to go down to the apple store for direct help. I really hope that what i have told you have helped and try to reset your iphone.

Face Time not able to connect from MBAir with yosemite 10.10.2 to ipod 4th gen. 6.1.6

Hi All
I ressurrected my son's 4th gen Ipod and updated to 6.1.6 . It work perfectly . System 6.1.6 has face time and iMessage and the it works flawlessly from the ipod to my 2013 MB air with Yosemite 1010.2 and to the Ipad air2 with latest software . However the contrary does not works ! When I try to make FaceTime calls FROM the MB air or the Ipad to the Ipod , it hangs & disconnects . iMessage works perfectly both ways . Stranger than that , Face Time works without a glitch to the 4th gen Ipod , from an older MB black with system 10.7.5 ! Thanks in advance for your help .

everytime i try to log in to face time useing my apple id and password it keeps telling me could not sign in please check network connection and try again

This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are many possible causes for it. Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.
Before proceeding, test on another network, if possible. That could be a public Wi-Fi hotspot, if your computer is portable, or a cellular network if you have a mobile device that can share its Internet connection. If you find that iMessage works on the other network, the problem is in your network or at your ISP, not in your computer.
Step 1
Check the status of the service. If the service is down, wait tor it to come back up. There may be a localized outage, even if the status indicator is green.
Step 2
Sign out of iMessage on all your Apple devices. Log out and log back in. Try again to sign in.
Step 3
Restart your broadband device and your router, if different. You may have to skip this step if you don't control those devices.
Step 4
From the menu bar, select
 ▹ About This Mac
Below the "OS X" legend in the window that opens, the OS version appears. Click the version line twice to display the serial number. If the number is missing or invalid according to this web form, take the machine to an Apple Store or other authorized service center to have the problem corrected.
Step 5
Take the steps suggested in this support article. If you don't understand some of the steps or can't carry them out, ask for guidance.
Step 6
From the menu bar, select
 ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network
If the preference pane is locked, click the lock icon in the lower left corner and enter your password to unlock it. Then click the Advanced button and select the Proxies tab. If the box marked SOCKS Proxy is checked, uncheck it. You don’t need to change any other settings in the window. Click OK and then Apply. Test.
The result may be that you can't connect to the Internet at all. Revert the change if that happens, or if iMessage still doesn't work. Remember that you must Apply any changes you make in the preference pane before they take effect.
Step 7
Select from the menu bar
 ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Storage
and click
Block all sites from storing information on this computer
Close the preference pane.
Step 8
Make sure you know the ID and password you use with iMessage. Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Use the search box in the toolbar of the Keychain Access window to find and delete all items with "iMessage" in the name. Log out and log back in.
Step 9
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
If iMessage worked in the guest account, stop here and post your results.
Step 10
Boot in safe mode and log in. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and test again.
If iMessage worked in safe mode, but didn't work when you booted out of safe mode, stop here and post your results.
Step 11
Reset the NVRAM.
Step 12
Reinstall OS X.
Step 13
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or contact Apple Support.

I message and face time not working

I am from the Philippines I use to own an iPhone 4S then switched to iPhone 5 . The I message and face time after switching it on... States that waiting for activation. I have tried almost everything that have been suggested like going to general ---reset--- reset network setting.. I bought the unit from the US all other functions are working perfectly . This seems to be a common issue within the last few days (at least). It also seems to be on Apple's end but one never knows. There are numerous other posts here in these forums outlining the same issue. Here are a couple of them:

Tried everything, FaceTime has an error occurred during activation on my iPad Air.
Maybe one of them will help you out, but if the issue is indeed on Apple's end, there's not much anyone can do until they resolve it.

I bought two iPhone 4 one from apple store in Paris n the other from Vodafone in Egypt and the one from Egypt have face time but is not activating so does anyone know how to activate it although my Paris iPhone is activating face time automatically n it is working fine

Guys I have just contacted the apple support and i have a little chat with them regarding this issue as i have the same question, my case is i have bought iPhone 6 plus from the UAE apple store and for sure there is no FaceTime application or even FaceTime in the settings as they are disabling this feature in UAE, However i will use this i phone in Egypt which they are enabling this feature in Egypt as i have another i phone with Egypt Sim Card and it works fine so i asked them i want to use the iPhone 6 that i have just bought in Egypt and enabling the FaceTime is that possible ? and they replied with if my country are not denying using FaceTime and iMessage thew will work fine. as they are disabling this function by location only, so once i will be in Egypt i have to restore my phone and it will relocate my location Automatically and the FaceTime and the iMessage will work then as long as my carrier provider is allowing this function.
and actually that make sense as i never heard before anyone here in Egypt has iPhone with no FaceTime feature am always hearing this in UAE and KSA.
I searched a lot online for answer for this question and i always find " it will not work " or "it disabled you can't enable it" and i really get disappointed for those answers as i payed a lot for this phone, so i guarantee to you that it will works in your phone as long as you are not in the districted country, and if you don't believe me you contact the Apple support by yourself.

Face time's problem in my Ipod touch (Gen 4)!

Suddently my iPod Touch (FACE TIME) couldn't show the video/camera, but I still could listen their voice, NOT their face, then my friends still could see my face. I tried to check the icon Setting - Face time... it was ON. How should I do to solve my problem. Thank you for your help !

Does the from camera work via the Camera app?
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

i bought a new ipod touch 4g but the face time app is found on it
how can i get it or fix this problem?

- Based on your user name could you have officially purchased the iPod from a mid-eastern country that prohibits use of FT? If so then FT does not appear and other users have not been able to make it appear. To check Google "facetime in (enter you country here)"
- If the above is not you case have you check all screen pages and used the Spotlight search feature to search for the facetime app? ALso, yu can hide the FT app in restrictions. Check Settings>General>Restrictions.

Face Time not working consistently from Kabul, Afghanistan. Any ideas?

I am in Kabul, Afghanistan and have an iPhone 4S that I can Face Time with my family successfully. They are in the US. I am calling their iPhone 4 and Macs. When I try calling other iPhones and/or Mac's (also in the US), I get the error message that their phones are not available. From email exchanges I have made, with the parties I am trying to call, it appears that they have done everything they need to do to Face Time successfully. In fact, they are able to Face Time with everyone else but me.
Where I am located, in order for Face Time to work, I have to have the wifi turned on, iPhone in Airplane mode, and cellular services turned off. Any other combination will not work. The fact that I can Face Time with some people tells me that this procedure does work.
The only difference I can see exists in my Contact list. People that I can face Time with, have a "Movie Camera Icon" on their contact page Face Time button. Everyone else does not. Does this mean anything?

If you have not taken the iPod apart, Apple will exchange it for a refurbished one for $99. You can do it an an Apple store

Face time is not connecting to India for the past 5 days. What could be the reason?

If you'd searched the forum first, as instructed to do before posting a question, you'd have seen that multiple users have reported a problem with Facetime, and that Apple is working to fix it.

oh wow, I think its happening to a few people. Same is happening to me right now, I can't sign in to FaceTime and it gives me the same error. Does your Game Center work?
