Face time sound problem on macbook

using face time on my mac the voice on my side going out goes mute and my computer seems to heat up. just to clarify the person(s) i call can hear me for a while and the they lose my voice and it is not because i hit the mute icon. anyone have the same problem?

Assuming you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, did you download the Windows Support software when you ran Bootcamp Assistant? Did you save the Windows Support software per the instructions you printed from within Bootcamp Assistant? Did you install the Windows Support Software from within Windows per the instructions in Bootcamp Assistant?
If you are running Snow Leopard the Windows Support Software is not downloaed it is on your Snow Leopard install disk.

Face time's problem in my Ipod touch (Gen 4)!

Suddently my iPod Touch (FACE TIME) couldn't show the video/camera, but I still could listen their voice, NOT their face, then my friends still could see my face. I tried to check the icon Setting - Face time... it was ON. How should I do to solve my problem. Thank you for your help !

Does the from camera work via the Camera app?
Try:

HT1338 Face Time connection problem

I keep trying to use face time on my macbook pro and it keeps saying "the server encountered an error processing registration. Please try again later." it has said this since I bought it. My face time works fine on my phone and ipad. What should I do?

Back up all data.
Take the steps suggested in this support article:
FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: "There was an error processing registration" when signing in
Sign out of iMessage:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
Then sign back in with your verified credentials. Note that the password of some Apple ID's will expire periodically.
If you get the same error, try resetting the NVRAM.

Intermittent sound problems on MacBook Pro.

I have for the last few months had this intemittent sound problem. The speaker greys out and the sound 'jumps' between speaker and internal sound. The little red light inside the headphone port comes on. This could last for a few minutes and then everything is fine again. It happens when I play DVD's as well. The sound goes and the DVD practically stops playing or the picture is slowed down and jerky. Usually after ejecting the DVD and inserting it again it sorts the problem out. It used to not happen very often but for the last two days it has happened at least 5 times. It happened during a presentation once and I need this to work. Any advice please. I am worried it could be a hardware issue.

I have trouble with Face Time on a 2012 macbook air.

When i put my password in for face time a message keeps coming up saying the server encounted an error in processing registration. please try again later. Do I have to purchase face time from app store ?

When I try to change permissions I am told: You don't hve permission to change the application for this document only. Do you want to change all similar documents to open with the application 'Terminal'?"
I've clicked "Cancel".
I note that on the iMac on which Facetime works well, the "applecamera.plugin" file is present. So what's to be gained by deleting it even if I could delete it?

Ipad 2 Messages face time login problems

I can't log into face time or messages. From the login screen it moves on to verify and then drops back to the log in screen, no error message etc just a continuous loop as long as i want to try it. Any help would be great thanks

Sound problem on MacBook Pro with XP

Hi all...
When I have headphones or an audio cable plugged into my MacBook Pro running XP and BootCamp 2.1, the sound will occasionally distort digitally for a second or two, then the sound will cut out, go through the internal speakers, then go back through the cable an a message will pop up in the tray telling me I just plugged something into the audio jack. This happens about once every five minutes or so.
Is that a driver issue, is it the headphone jack, or is it the cable?
Any ideas welcome!

Hi guys,
I just updated bootcamp few hours ago with xp pro 32 bit on 2.2ghz macbook
and as I tried to use the audio jack, the sound never goes through my earphones but went to the internal speakers instead.
So I googled the problem and realized it should be the driver's problem
I've tried to repair with the leopard cd to fix the problem, but since it's now 2.1 based so it didn't work
Here's what I did to roll back to bootcamp 2.0 driver without touching other 2.1 udpates
Go to start->control panel->system, a small window should now pop out->choose Hardware tab-> Click on Device Manager button on the top, another window should now pop out too-> roll down to the section saying 'Sound, video and game controllers' and expand the list by clicking the '+' symbol on its left->you should now see a list with a several names, one of them should say 'Realtek High Definition Audio', when you see it, right click on it-> after right clicking, a drop down list should appear, click on uninstall-> it should now be gone from your list since it's now uninstalled, at this point, click on the button on the top of this window where it's under 'Help' near middle left with a symbol looks like it's a computer with a magnifying glass, it's next to a button with a big question mark. The button will scan any hardware that has no driver on your computer, of course including your just uninstalled Audio device. Now, DON'T CLOSE Device Manager window(still need it), but grab your leopard 10.5 disk and insert to the optical drive, when it prompts to ask you what to do, you click 'Cancel'. After that, go back to Device Manager window, you should now see big yellow question mark popped out from no where saying it's the Audio Device, right click on that one and choose update driver. Another window should now pop out asking you what to do, choose 'No, not now' then click on 'Next'. Now, here you should see a several way to update the driver, choose the 'automatically (Recommended)' one then click on 'Next', it should now run by itself through optical drive so just wait for now. Afterwards, it might say cannot update but make sure in Device Manager the 'Realtek High Definition Audio' appear properly under the sound list (that's what happened to mine) now it should work, or else just use the Repair function of leopard cd if this ultimately fails
*This is my personal experience, it worked for my case but I am not responsible to ensure it will work for other cases as well.*

I have installed windows7 on late 2011 macbook pro but sound not working.
I have used bootcamp for installation.
Also the audio jack emitting red light.

my mac sound is not working also the headphones however if i plug the hdmi cable it works on my tv !!!!! I think it is a hardware problem!!

Have you checked the settings in System Preferences > Sound?
There is a switch inside the audio jack that may be stuck. Try gently inserting an audio plug, gently wiggling it, and then removing the audio plug.

SOUND PROBLEM ON MACBOOK

. No sound working. Sound icon is grey and the only option available in the sound panel is numeric output. I've re-install the OS and nothing seem to work.

It sounds like your sound output is broken.
Contact Apple using www.apple.com/support/contact if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the MacBook in to an Apple retail store or service provider to ask for an estimate.

Quick Time sound problem

My quicktime application has developed a fault so it no longer plays audio. Whats my best course of action to rectify the problem. Coincidentally the same problem has arisen in windows media player!

I had the same problem, no sound on my mpg or mpeg clips anymore.
I run quicktime pro and flip4mac.
Anyway, you're not gonna' believe the simple fix I found in the flip4mac forum.
Start and quit GarageBand! Now all my clips have the audio back!

Hdmi sound problems in MacBook 13" Retina

When connected to TV via hdmi some sounds wont play. It will play Youtube but not VLCplayer.
Vdeo goes out throu hdmi but audio stays in Macbook speakers and it cannot be sdjusted up or down by keyboard at all.
Any help?

Did you select the TV as the sound output device (System Preferences > Sound > Output > {your TV})?

Face time not working on macbook pro

i've tried reloading my MBP. I can sign in with my apple id everywhere else so i know the login / pswd is right. I can sign in to facetime on my ipad2 with no problem. i've even tried creating a new account but the same issue.

Face Time in 10.7.2 Lion

Hello Folks, I am UK based
I recently became an Apple convert. My system is an late 2009 27” iMac with a 1Tb TimeCapsule. I use an Ethernet wired connection for my iMac from my modem/router router with wired Ethernet HomePlug for my TV and other Windows based PCs. Laptops can access the net from either the TimeCapsule Airport wireless or the wireless modem/router depending on wireless card and software.
I see the threads regarding Face Time connection problems. Perhaps my experience may be of some help. Please bear with the longish story before I get to the point.
I started to question my ISP about my poor download rate through my local exchange by using the ADSL and Fibre to the Cabinet diagnostics tool from speedtester.bt.com. I took readings over many months and showed that on my supposed 8Mbps download rated line I was getting anywhere between less than 1 to 4.5 Mbps. I eventually was told by my ISP that it could be my old modem/router and that I should try to upgrade to an ADSL2/2+ variant to see if that improved the rate. The ISP told me that the modem/router and the network card interact and the network card in the exchange decide and set the IP profile to what it thinks my router and the line can handle. Fair enough, the exchange is 3.5 miles away and we are fairly remote in the countryside. The speedtester states that for my connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps. I used a Belkin F5D7630-4A ADSL wireless modem/router but I changed to the F5D7632-4 in my attempt to improve the speed. I then bought an Edimax AR-7284 MnA 150 Mbps Wireless ADSL2+ modem/router in an attempt to improve matters. This worked and I achieved a fairly consistent speed around 5 to 5.5 Mbps.
Meanwhile I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion 10.7 from the App store when it was released. My daughter bought a Macbook Air. We tried to connect through FaceTime. When I was working with either of the Belkin routers FaceTime worked seamlessly. As soon as I used the Edimax router we could not connect. Nothing I gleaned from any of the support threads, changing DNS settings or using specific ports etc helped. I asked Edimax support to advise and see if they could get the application to work but they too were unable. The Edimax also barred me from my secure banking connection and a few other websites and nothing I did resolved this. I had the Edimax replaced but the replacement did the same. I then replaced it with a Belkin F5D8365uk4-v1ADSL2/2+ modem/router, this unfortunately was faulty but was replaced. FaceTime worked seamlessly on this variant but it made no difference to the download rate from the exchange. I now realise that the Belkin F5D7632-4 is an ADSL2 modem/router and from its LAN setup webpage shows Data Rate Down/Up of 6720Kb/448Kb and thus should give me the best that my line can give which is about 5 to 5.5 Mbps. I have reverted to using it but still have line rate issues.
FaceTime still works perfectly with the Belkin F5D7632-4 as it did with the later variant.
My point.
Perhaps it is the hardware that causes all these FaceTime problems and not the Apple Software.

Have you checked your firewall settings? You have to allow incoming connections for your application (i.e. FaceTime).

Face Time crash

I wonder if someone can help me figure out why my Face Time crashes on my MacBook Pro (2012)? When I try to use the camera in other apps it is not found so could it be that the camera is defective?

If restarting Mac does not fix the problem, try Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 suggestions.
Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Therefore, regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.
