Face time static picture

I am experiencing problems with Skype on Ipad/Facetime. All of a sudden my picture in skype is static instead of moving while I communicate with others on skype.
It was working previously and then while typing a google e-mail message I stopped to take a picture. Something must have been pushed as the e-mail message was sent by mistake, the picture taken. Later when skyping with someone my skype video became static.
Help!

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from ackup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
If the shutter still will not open time fro an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Also see:

To continue using FaceTime, you must update to iOS 6.1.6 since device certificate is expired.
(especially uploading photos for email)
And you can't use older version at all times.
(For me, I use newer version at all times)

I take it this was during a call? Close the app and open it again.
Failing that, and when the call is over, do a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank. Be patient, the device will power ON again in the normal way. It is app and data safe!]

In addition to johngrussel's suggestion the delete key by itself will run the Remove from Album comand.
Note that's the delete key with no modifier.Command-delete will delete the version from the project.

Why is my Face Time picture so red/pink?

The calling party may be using your iPhone's phone number to call you. Otherwise, an E-Mail address is used as a phone number, so you must have a different E-Mail address for each device, and registered to the same Apple ID. You might try completely turning off the iPhone and seeing if the iPad can receive FaceTime calls.
If it works like an iPad, you would turn off the iPhone by holding the Sleep button for several seconds until the "Slide to power off" arrow appears. To turn it back on, you would hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears.

Ipad2 face time low and static audio at the receiving end

iPad 2 face time audio is very low and alot of static at the receiving end. Any suggestions on how to have a clear sound?

Umm, Odd.
You seem to be saying that iChat has the correct Mic/sound input slected in the drop down in iChat > Preferences > Video section > Drop down.
You also see to have the setting in Sytem Preferences > Sound > Input tab.
You say that recording in other apps is ok with this set up and we have looked at the Bit rate of the MIDI device in the post above.
At this time I can not thimk of anything more to try.
I will sleep on this and post again if I think of anything.
Edit: Possibly deleting com.apple.ichat.plist will make iChat reset the readings it is getting from other sources.
Deleting this and restarting ichat recreates the .plist but you lose any saved Status Message, Font style, Bubble colours and other less visible things like Individual sound alerts.

Because something is wrong.
You will need to troubleshoot to find out what needs to be fixed.
One of these suggestions may resolve your trouble.
FaceTime (and other video) quality problems can be caused by problems at either end of the connection. Unless your video callers' FaceTime connections work properly with everyone else but you, both parities to the video call should consider these possibilities.
(1) Restart your iPad and test again. Sometimes a simple restart fixes things.
(2) Use a fast broadband internet connection for best possible FaceTime video.
Broadband speed matters at BOTH ends, so you use something like http://speedtest.net/ to test both ends of your video connections.
Speeds less than 300 Kbps (up and down) at both ends are unlikely to give best results.
(3) Try from a different wi-fi connection.
If the problem is ONLY at your current location, restarting your internet connection may help. Shut down your iPad or turn Airplane Mode "on". Then check your cable connections, restart your modem and wireless access point, reconnect iPad to the wi-fi, and test again.
If the problem remains but ONLY at your current location, there may be a problem with your internet service. Contact your ISP for help.
(4) Always use as much light as possible for best images (including video) from your iPad.

HT1349 Whe using face time the person on the other line is saying that our picture will get fuzzy if you start to move it

when using face time when we start to move slightly the other people say that the picture goes fuzzy.

See if any of theses ideas reduce the severity of your problem:
(1) Add as much light as possible for best possible camera picture. The camera slows down in dim light.
(2) Check connection speed at both ends using http://speedtest.net/ (iOS app available)
Broadband speed is a must. 384kBps or more at both ends for better pictures.
(3) Shut down everything and restart in order: modem, router, iOS device.
Let each device self-test complete before starting the next.

Face time picture shows with "bars"

When I use face time while traveling I'm having issues with the screen. We start the conection with their faces covering the complete screen (holding my iPad vertically) and then all of the sudden changes and they show in a letterbox with black bars top and bottom (kind of the annoying Skype). Is there any setting I should use to make sure that while I hold my iPad vertically the screen will be full?

Face time connection fails when I try to connect

I have used face time to chat with my grandkids on several occasions through my iPhone 5C to their iPod touch devices, and it worked fine. But lately when we tried to facetime is says FAILED. They are able to text me and send pictures and I can do that to them but the face time connection fails just as we try to answer the call.
I've tried face timing others and it works. But not to the grandkids. Any thoughts?

Is your iPhone on the latest version of iOS (7.1.1 right now)?
If so, have your grandkids check their iPod touches - they need to be running the latest version of iOS that their devices can handle in order for FaceTime to work.

Face Time Rear Camera

When I am using the Face Time feature, I hit the back camera button and it does not show on the front of my phone what the back camera is seeing. Also, when the other person hits their back camera, I see a frozen front picture but they can see their back camera working. I hope this makes sense and saves me a trip to the Genius Bar.

The first thing to do: Make a backup of your iPhoto Library. Don't update iPhoto without having a backup of your iPhoto library.
When I tried I received the following message This update is not available for this Apple ID either because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
This error message means, that you did not yet associate your copy of iPhoto (preinstalled on your Mac) with your AppleID by clicking the "accept" button at AppStore "Purchased" page.
First try to "Accept" iPhoto on the Purchased tab and try, if you then can update iphoto from the Updates tab.
Now check the "Purchased" tab. Is iPhoto among your Purchases to "Accept" or "Install"? Then accept and/or install.
If it is not possible, delete iPhoto from the Applications folder .
(don't empty the Trash).
If it is not among your Purchases, open the AppStore main tab, search for iPhoto using the Search field, and buy it from the AppStore. If you already owned any version of iPhoto '11, this purchase should be free, from earlier versions it may be a paid upgrade.

I can delete the existing software and re-install but I don't want to lose all my photos.
Your photos are in your iPhoto Library in your Pictures folder and not in the iPhoto application. Just back up the iPhoto Library as a precaution, but reinstalling iPhoto will not delete your iPhoto Library.
