Facebook Albums/Albums Usage

I've been using Aperture for over a year now, and just when I think I understand it, I run across a problem which I quite don't understand.  I had asked this question a few days ago but probably didn't explain it well enough.  My main question is: When browsing pictures in a project, is there any way to determine in which albums that picture might be used?
For a specific example, I selected a number of images and created a "Facebook Album".  The original album contained 36 images, and was uploaded to Facebook without problems.  A few days later, I wanted to add some additional images to this Facebook Album.  By browsing through my project, I could not tell which images I had already uploaded to Facebook.  I did eventually select another 5 images and dragged them over to the "Facebook Album" I had created earlier, and these images were uploaded as well.
Trying to find a solution to my question above, I started to look at the various ways that one can filter images and discovered that you can add the following rule to the filter:
Aperture: Album Name: is not empty
When this filter is applied, only those pictures which were used in the original Facebook Album are displayed.  Conversely, if you choose Album Name is empty, only those images which were not used in the Facebook album are displayed.  I thought this was great, and solved my original question, but some other questions arose:
1. The Album Name filter, did not find those images which were not originally selected for the Facebook Album.  So how does Aperture assign an "Album Name".  Is it different for regular albums than for the Facebook Albums?
2. Although you can use the Album Name as a filter, as far as I can tell, there is no way to display this information in the Library Metadata Inspector?  Is that right?
3. Do Facebook albums behave differently than the standard album or smart album in Aperture?
If anyone can provide additional insight into this, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
Ed

Duh!  I discovered my problem.  Everything works the way it should.  I had two different filters being used between the Project and the Facebook Album.  Once I made sure both were filtered the same way, all the images showed up as they should.  I think I understand this now.

It is peculiar, that Chrome, Safari, and Skype can access FB, but not the iPhoto uploader.
Do you see any error messages/ diagnostics in the Console Window, when you try to connect to Facebook?
Launch a Console window from Applications > Utilities and clear the Console Window. Then try to upload. Are there any new messages?
And also launch a Terminal and have a look, if "facebook.com" is properly resolved:
    Type
    ping facebook.com
into the window. Do you see any transmissions? What is the IP address used?
    I see:

  • Facebook photo album

how to add a facebook photo album to air app ?

It's not too easy, but the Milkman Games GoViral ANE that let's you communicate with your Facebook app has detailed instructions on how to set things up.
    Read this getting started article:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/articles/goviral-ane-ios.html#articlecontentAdobe_numbered header_1
I don't know for sure that you get access to the user's photo album, but think you can by using the Facebook Graph API. Here's more information about that:

OMG, I totally did not see the edit button at the top right corner of the Albums window/page.
Selecting that, then selecting the album BIKE brought up the RED button to the left of the album and ta-da, delete.
Sometimes I seek so hard I do not see.

  • Sharing to Facebook - Duplicate albums

When I am Sharing to Facebook and choose an album already created in Facebook,
the albums in the list duplicate each time I add a photo. Note that the list duplicates equally even though I add one photo to a particular album.
What can I do to fix duplicates in this list?

I've done a lot of reorganizing in both Facebook and Aperture and things just got out-of-whack. I rebuild the database etc. but I always had these duplicate albums showing.
It was this simple fix; Remove and re-add the Facebook account that worked. Thanks for the quick reply. Apple discussions are a wonderful tool with your good help.

I'm trying to download FacePAD in order to download albums in facebook. I'm new in firefox and I'm unable to download facePAD because each website I find says that it can't be downloaded with firefox 4.0.1 (my version).
    Can someone help on this?

See ''tmaca's'' post, 3rd one up from the bottom. He seems to think you can update it manually: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/822003#answer-184670
Officially though, we're still at this stage: [http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Norton-product-compatibility-with-Firefox-Updates/m-p/443808 Norton product compatibility with Firefox Updates]
If you want to revert to the previous secure version, do the following.<br><br>
Go to [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html Download Firefox v3.6.17] and download it to the desktop.<br><br>
Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to "Mozilla Firefox" and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).<br><br>
Then reboot and delete the folder called "Mozilla Firefox" at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox<br><br>

  • IPad not displaying more than 44 thumbnails in Facebook photo albums

    Hi All
Whenever I try and view a photo album in Facebook on the iPad it only shows me the 1st 44 thumbnails then after that I just get grey boxes. I can view the photo's if I click on the grey boxes but it is very annoying. It does this whether I use Safari, Graze or any of the 3rd party Facebook apps.
I have just updated to 3.22 and the problem is the same. Any advice welcome.
    Thanks
    David

Other people have experienced similar occurrences. Deleting Safari's cache and history (in settings) may help but the real problems seems to be because of the iPad's limited (256MB) of memory)

  • I need to feature a facebook album on a site. How to display a facebook photo album?

any Ideas on how to have photos from a facebook album display on a Muse developed site>? I've try galleria plug-ins and I can't get it to show.
(I wish it was as easy as posting a google calendar.) please help

You can use plugins, custom codes to embed FB gallery in your site pages.
Example , Free Facebook Photo & Video Gallery For Your Website - Facebook Galleria , Embed Social , please note that gallery should be set to public as private galleries will not be displayed.
    Thanks,
    Sanjit

  • Since today I can't publish on Facebook page albums using de Facebook/Lightroom plugin.

It only allows me to publish on my user albumns, but my pages albums don't appear in the menu anymore.
Here, marked in red, should appear "Album existente sin propietario" or "Existing album without author" but it doesn't since today.
Reinstalled lightroom, the plugin, the facebook addon, tried on another computer, it just doesn't work anymore.
    Win 8.1 Lightroom 5.7.1

I have encountered the same problem you have!  I have been posting to Facebook Pages for a few years now.
I have reported this problem to Facebook using their own problem reporting mechanism.
It would help if everyone who is having this issue should do the same.  Here is the process:
    1. In, Facebook, Click on the pull down on the far upper right of the screen.
    2. Click "Report a Problem"
    3. Click "Something Isn't Working"
    4. Select Pages on the pull down.
    5. Explain the problem.
    6. Upload a screen image. I captured an image of trying to create a new published collection with the pull down showing no Page Albums listed.
Here is my current thread on the Adobe Lightroom discussion forum.  Still no response from either Facebook or Adobe.

  • Echoing photo modifications to Facebook/Flickr albums

OK, so I've uploaded an album to Facebook & Flickr.
Then I decide I want to adjust the cropping or exposure of some of the photo's. I do this, and hit "check now" but it doesn't seem to consider my changes worthy of updating.
    Any way around this?

That's very odd. Here's what I have in the organizer share pane:
Have you changed your country location? I would try going to the organizer prefs>Adobe Partner services and clicking Refresh.

  • Facebook with Albums and Xperia

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me. I bought a Xperia Z1 Compact yesterday so today in the progress of setting it all up. I have been an iPhone user for 4 years so many of the features are new to me!
    1) I notice in the Albums App from Sony you can connect via facebook and get photos from there? When I click this function a box appears saying connect. I click connect. Then a box appears for permission for Xperia to access my facebook contacts, photos etc etc and I click ok. This box disappears and nothing happens! It goes back to the original connect screen. And I go in circles when I keep clicking connect.
    2) In my settings in my accounts, I have facebook. I notice there is also an option for Xperia with facebook. I have removed my facebook from the accounts and added Xperia with Facebook. When I do this the account asks me to sign in etc and when I do the icon that appears is a regular facebook icon and not the Xperia with Facebook icon. (I actually tried this to fix problem 1 and then realised it wasn't doing it this way either). My facebook account when it appears in the list will only let me sync my contacts there are no options for photos or calendars or anything else.
I have tried deleting the accounts turning then phone off and again then re-adding it. I have tried going into my actual facebook account and checking the settings there (as far as I can tell it should all sync up). I only got the phone yesterday so surely it doesn't need re-boot to factory settings or anything?
    Please help if you can.
    Thanks in advance.

I found the solution here for anyne who has the same problem
    http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z1-Compact/Problems-with-Xperia-with-facebook/m-p/554965
installing facebook messenger, as recommended in the above thread fixes this.

  • Facebook Photo Albums Missing in iPhoto

When I try and sync my Facebook account with iPhoto 9.4.1 only 3 of my many albums show up.  Does this on both of my machines (2011 iMac, 2010 MBP).  Tried reinstalling iPhoto, purging permissions and deteting and re-adding the account, among other things.  No change.
Anyone else having this problem?  Is there a solution?  Is this a known issue that will adressed in an update?
    Thanks.
    -Doug

Two years later and the problem persists. Terrible! I wish Apple would fix this already! I have already reported this problem to them via the proper channel.
Only 13 of 23 albums sync. And, iPhoto will only synchronize a maximum of 25 photos from each album. Flickr albums do not seem to suffer from this bug.

  • Facebook photo albums display fine but when I click on an individual picture in the album only the caption displays. (does not happen when I use AOL as my browser)

In Facebook, when I click on any individual photo it will not display. Everything, including the caption, displays fine but not the picture itself. If I use AOL as my browser this does not happen, only on Firefox.

Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (<i>Site Identification</i> icon) on the left side of the location bar.<br />
A click on the "More Information" button will open the Security tab of the "Page Info" window (also accessible via "Tools > Page Info").<br />
Open the <i>Media</i> tab of the "Page Info" window.<br />
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow key.<br />
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.<br />
