Facebook albums disappear?

I have 14 photo albums on Facebook, all uploaded from Aperture 3.
They are still there, in my FB profile, but they DISAPPEARED from my Aperture 3 Library. My God, where did they go?
This software is really unpredictable (and unreliable?). I am pretty fed up with it.
Anybody by chance knows where I can look for these poor FB photo albums of mine? MTIA

Is there any settings for me to change such that any deletion of photos from aperture would not affect my facebook albums?
No, that is how it is supposed to behave. Aperture is synching your album toFacebook - any changes you do in Aperture will be applied to the online verssion.
If you do not want that, you need to disable the Facebook account in Aperture after publishing your album. See the manual: Publishing Images to Flickr and Facebook, or to export from Aperture and to upload to facebook usng your web browser.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Can't upload multiple images to Facebook album through Safari

I switched back to Safari on my Macbook Pro after downloading Yosemite. I heard it was the best browser for the new OS.  I am experiencing problems uploading multiple images to a Facebook album. I have to go back to the basic uploader and upload them one at a time. Is there a fix?

    Thanks for a reply.
I've signed in already and it works with few images. But when i try to share large amount of images ,the menu "facebook" was disappeared.

  • Creating new flickr & facebook albums in iOS.

I used to be able to create new flickr sets & facebook albums when uploading from Photos or iPhoto, but that option seems to have disappeared.  Does anyone know how to get it back?
The only workaround I can find is to do it via each sites associated apps, but it's quite difficult in the flickr app without going through the whole upload process.
I prefer to upload from iPhoto as it doesn't compress the files as badly plus it also includes the exif info.
I'd appreciate this functionality back because when I'm out on photo shoots I like to upload them to the ipad, do immediate selection, basic post, and upload them straight away to both these sites.

    Hi BastardSheep!
As suggested in the article below, you may need to make sure that you are signed in to your Flickr and Facebook accounts in the settings of your iPhone:
iPhoto for iOS: Comments and Share badge may not appear on photos shared to Facebook
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4398
If you are still experiencing this issue, you may need to do some further troubleshooting by deleting the iPhoto app, then re-downloading it. Thanks for being a part of the Apple Support Communities!

  • Photos and photo albums disappeared, but iPhoto library still has 60 GB.

Photos and photo albums disappeared, web gallery titles remain but show (0). iPhoto library still has 60 GB size. How do I retrieve photos, events and albums. Thanks in advance.

Are you getting an "!" in the window when you try to edit a photo. The "!" means that the library has lost the file path to the original file. This happens when there has been an interruption to iPhoto while it is writing to it's database file, Library6.iPhoto. Moving, renaming files or folder inside the library package while in the Finder is another way you can get that indication. Try the three fixes below in order as needed:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select the first three options.
2 - rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: It may take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. Report back on how long it took and how many photos you have in the library so we can give other users an idea of how long it may take.
3 - start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Any way to get iPhoto'09 to recognise existing Facebook albums?

Is there any way to get iPhoto '09 to recognise existing Facebook albums?
It would be nice to have all the previous albums I've uploaded to be listed in iPhoto and all the 100's of people I've already tagged would serve as a nice basis for the iPhoto face detection to learn who my friends are!

This is an interesting workaround, but misses the spirit of the original post. I don't know a way to get iPhoto '09 to recognize existing FB albums, but I agree that this is a serious problem with iPhoto '09.
The iPhoto '09 Facebook and Flickr uploaders have one "cool" feature - they automatically sync iPhotos events with FB "albums" or Flickr "sets", so if you make changes to the photos in iPhoto, then those changes are reflected in the photos on FB and Flickr automagically (this has been working for me in FB but not in Flickr). The more I use this the more I think it's more trouble than it is useful and I wish I could turn it off and just use the old exporters without syncing.
There are problems with the exporters:
    (1) the constant syncing with FB/Flickr can get annoying if you're making several changes, if you have a slow internet connection or slow computer.
    (2) If you don't actually want the changes to be reflected in the FB/Flickr album (i.e. i delete photos out of iPhoto to make room on my disk for more photos and now the photos are deleted out of facebook) can get not as user friendly as the original Facebook and Flickr exporter was easier and more user-friendly.
    (3) syncing is cool for a computer programmer to do, but what if users don't want it all the time? What if I don't want my Facebook albums to be exactly the same as my iPhoto albums, and I don't want to split out all the photos that I don't want on Facebook into separate events in iPhoto? This lack of support for the truly useful & user friendly (if a bit boring) features is a really unfortunate oversight.
(3a) in the old version: i can quickly and easily choose exactly which photos from which events I want to upload to FB.
(3b) as the original questioner mentioned: I can choose whether to upload to into a *new or existing album*. Hands down, this was *the single best feature* of the previous uploaders.
(in Flickr this is of paramount importance since the free Flickr account only allows 3 "sets" - so, since this fancy iPhoto syncing links your events to sets in Flickr, you'd have to create 3 massive Flickr-only events in iPhoto in order to stay within their restrictions. I like to keep my iPhotos events separate, but I'm perfectly happy uploading photos from different events into one of my three Flickr sets. i'm pretty sure i can still do this with FFXporter or similar.)
(3b) in the old version: all the photos i upload are put into a "pending" album on FB so that I can tag people, delete some photos (without deleting them off my own iPhoto), etc. before sharing them with all my friends. I'd like to have at least the option to choose whether they go into a pending album first or not.
(3c) it's further annoying that you cannot browse your iPhoto library directly (from most websites) when searching for photos to upload, you have to export the files first, then browse to where the photos were exported.

  • Contextual Share to Facebook Album - Limited Albums Listed

Using 10.8.2, I am attempting to share several photos to existing albums in Facebook. When I select the photos and pick the Share to Facebook via option-click, I only see a few of my Facebook albums. Why are only a few (not all) listed? How can I make all of them appear?

I dislike that Aperture creates its own album on Facebook, where it posts your "Wall" photos. Ordinarily wall photos on Facebook are not part of a particular album, and if you uploaded several in a short period of time, they would appear as separate posts, and not as an album update. But if you do it from Aperture, they are grouped together as an album update, which  can ruin the effect. I haven't found a workaround except to export to your desktop (or other folder) and manually upload to the FB wall.

  • Facebook albums not showing all photos in iPhoto

I'm trying to export all of the photos (several hundred) from Facebook to iPhoto. Facebook is having difficulty creating an archive, and rather than wait for them to fix whatever that problem is I'm trying to import them directly using the Facebook connector in iPhoto.
I added the account and it shows up in the list of Web albums. However, when the account is opened, only three albums are present (instead of six) with a total of five photos (instead of hundreds). Does anyone have any suggestions for what to check to make sure that iPhoto is connecting properly and how to get the photos from Facebook imported into iPhoto?
Please don't suggest downloading each photo individually, I don't have time to right click several hundred photos one at a time.

The only Facebook albums that will appear in iPhoto will be manually created ones. Auto-created albums by other apps or Facebook itself (Instagram, Mobile Uploads, Wall Album, etc) won't appear. Are those the ones missing?

  • Photos in iPhoto 11 albums disappeared...

    Hey all!
I recently had pictures from an old drive recovered. I was given the iphoto library folder but I had built a new library with new pictures since. I used iPhoto Library Manager to merge both libraries and it worked fine until recently, all the pictures from the albums disappeared. They are all in the photos and events but all the albums are empty. I tried repairing iPhoto but it didn't work. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks in advance for the help!

I tried that Terence and it doesn't work... I really don't want to go through 35,000 pictures one by one...

  • Tagging Facebook albums created in Aperture not working

I'm trying to publish a Facebook album from within Aperture (3.6), and am having trouble getting the tags to stick in Facebook. When I go visit the album on Facebook, the tags are there, but not actually linked to the people. For example My friend John Doe, would be tagged in the photo in grey writing, but it is not a clickable link, and when I go to John's Facebook page, he hasn't been tagged in it.
I suspect the issue is related to this forum post: Facebook contacts not syncing
When I go to John Doe's Faces entry, it shows the correct contacts entry.
When I go to the contacts entry, it has his Facebook profile under the "Facebook" field, but there is no small F under his contact picture, and when I tell os X to update all profile pictures his does not get updated. Also, it seems that my Facebook syncing is not syncing all my Facebook friends, only a select few, who I suspect meet the criteria discussed in the above thread. So, what I suspect is happening, is that Aperture thinks that John's faces entry is connected to a Facebook account (possibly from some legacy link with contacts) but Facebook's new policy is making it so that John's contact is not being synced from Facebook to iCloud.
I can't figure out a way to manually link his contact card to his Facebook account. Entering his Facebook homepage web address does nothing as far as I can tell.
Any help would be appreciated. It ***** spending all the time tagging faces in aperture and then having to re-do it in Facebook.
PS: Running Yosemite, all programs up to date as of nov 22, 2014
    Edited for spelling

It shows for me within a minute.  I don't have Facebook enabled.  I would:
    - reboot and see if that forces the tieing of any loose ends, and thus allows this feature to work
    - maybe try it on a new Library, or a Library used in another User Account on your machine
    - see if someone who does use Facebook tries the feature and reports on whether it works
I'm confident Library size/number of Images is not part of the issue, unless you have several thousand named Faces.
Just to make sure we are "on the same page":  you go to Contacts, select a contact, double-click the picture assigned to that contact, and never see "Faces" in this dialog:

  • Pictures in iWeb albums disappeared after change location of original files

I created many albums in iWeb by dragging albums from iPhoto. But then I noticed some pictures from my iWeb albums disappeared after the original pictures got removed to another location (or deleted). How can I tell iWeb to make a copy of the pictures in iWeb itself so my iWeb albums can stay the same even when i need to reorganize the original files on the hard drive?
Any suggestions on how to restoring my albums in iWeb? I am having a bit headache now. Thank you very much!

That is not normal behavior. The photos should stay in iWeb even if you delete them from iPhoto. Are you running a "referenced" library or a "managed" one?
Managed is the default option. If you're running a reference library that may be the reason. If so contact Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iweb.html and http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
Unless you have a backup of your domain file predating the loss of the photos I don't know how you will recover the photos.

  • Galleries Merge when updating Facebook album with tags.

The problem that I have is that when i try to update a facebook album with the faces I have reconized and have them with there email account so facebook can auto tag them they merge diferente faces galleries. They are in teh same album but I really don't know why this happens.
    Someone else?

I have this exact same problem and it is very difficult to find something. This thread and one in macrumors is the only thing I have found with no anwers yet.
I thought it was an iPhoto 09 problem, and so I called customer service, but they told me it was more a facebook problem than an Apple one. This is in fact true, and to prove it I did the following:
Using the same computer, the same iPhoto 09, I uploaded the same photos to my wife's account and my own account. This was done separately and just for test reasons. With my wife's account, there was no problem at all, all tags done nicely, everything perfect. With my account though, I got multiple tags for the same person in a single picture. Even worse, everytime I start iPhoto my photos were re-tagged so I ended up with several dozens of tags.
Then I checked and everything in the facebook account settings was exactly the same for both accounts. The only difference between the two is that mine was created two days ago, while my wife's been there for two years.
So I created a new account for my daughter, again just for test reasons, and my daughter's has the same issue of multiple tags for a single face.
This made me conclude the Apple representative was really honest when he says it's a facebook problem. But I beg you that if you find any solution, please post it anywhere here. This is driving me nuts.
    Best regards

  • Importing pics from a friend's Facebook album - poor resolution

I am making a photo book in iPhoto and am saving pictures from a Facebook albums ... but resolution is too poor to use. Any suggestions??

Only one. Don't use photos from facebook albums. When a pic is uploaded to Facebook it is "processed", which means almost all the metadata is stripped away and it is heavily compressed. Simply, they are such poor quality that they won't print well.

  • IPhoto interacting with Facebook Albums...

I just reorganized all of my facebook photos into new albums.  I wanted to upload some more photos directly from iPhoto but it is NOT recognizing any of my new albums.  How do I get it to bring in the names of these new albums so I can use them properly?  Is it some kind of re-booting I need to do?? Preferences??
    Thank you...

That is not the way it works
You can not "link" iPhoto to existing Facebook albums - you create them in iPhoto and then there is bi-directional syncing between that album in facebook and iPhoto. If you create albums in Facebook you can not manage them from iPhoto - only albums created in iPhoto
