Facebook and Blackberry Q10

I'm really not sure if this a facebook or BBQ10 issue... On my BB I have a the FB app and when I take a picture with my Q10 and upload it to FB it automatically goes to my personal FB profile home page and that's fine.
Lately I added a Business page in FACEBOOK and now I want to take pictures with my Q10 and upload them to my FB business page.  How do I do that?  I called my service provider and they directed me to Customer Service at BB and the "jerk" told me I had to pay 50 bucks for a technical support call.  Everything seems so difficult with BB these days I'm almost tempted to chuck it in and go with an Apple smartphone.!  Can someone help me (please).  Thanks

First off, I don't have the solution for which you're looking but I am going to save you some running around (and paying $50).
The rep at Virgin made a mistake. He was unaware that Virgin is contracted by BlackBerry to provide support for BlackBerry devices. If Virgin cannot resolve your issue, they are to escalate you to BlackBerry for support at no cost to you. Yes, it'll cost Virgin money to do that but it doesn't cost you. And when I say that Virgin supports BlackBerry devices, I mean they support the devices and the software on it.
So, you called Virgin and they couldn't help you. Call back and restate your issue. If they can't help you this time, ask to be escalated to BlackBerry. If they won't do it, ask to speak to a supervisor. If that doesn't work, email tech support and ask again. If that still doesn't work, ask for Sir Richard Branson's phone number so you can take it up with him. Whatever happens, you're entitled to free support from Virgin until your issue is resolved (whether Virgin does that or passes you off to BlackBerry).
One more thing: Chucking your BlackBerry and running to an iPhone is leaving one problem and running to another. iPhones don't work any better than BlackBerry phones, especially BB10 phones. I know, I've looked around at other forums and have spoken to many, many people. You're better off keeping your Q10 and getting this resolved.
I hope I've helped you. Please keep us up to date.

    Hello !
Try connecting to App world after connecting your device to WiFi.
    Or else,
There is an alternative for your problem to resolve.
What you do is connect your BlackBerry Smartphone with USB cable to Internet enabled desktop/laptop.
Go to the link mentioned below:
    http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/
On top right  of the page there is a option "Sign In".
Login with your BlackBerry ID and password.
From here you can download all as you do it for Appworld.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!

  • Exchange Server 2010 and BlackBerry Q10

I would like to connect Blackberry Q10 phones to our mail server. The server is a SBS 2010 and it already uses PPTP vpn.
I would prefer using VPN, rather than a forwarded ports for the services.
The phone doesn't support PPTP, and it has errors when using IMAP.
The phone supports Microsoft IKEv2 VPN, that would be the best solution but i cannot make it work.
The phone connects perfectly on corporate WiFi when using Exchange ActiveSync connection settings.
Can you help me with some guidance? How can I set up an IKE2 VPN or how can i put ActiveSync, or POP3 ports safely on the web? And if it's POP3 then, how can I configure it, so the mails are remaining on server?
    Thank you for your help!

If you have the phone accepting ActiveSync internally, you have half the battle.  Now you need to proxy your CAS to the Internet (only need port 443 for this) and you will be set.  Read the following page and its subpages for the details of ActiveSync
and what you need to do to enable it externally:

  • T-Mobile and BlackBerry Q10 OS updates

Will BlackBerry be providing standalone OS updates for our BlackBerry's?  I read an article that BlackBerry ended its contract with T-Mobile for selling it's phones, does this mean we won't be getting the latest updates for our devices?  Once 10.3 releases will BlackBerry provide a standalone update for the Q10 and other phones?  T-Mobile in my area is fantastic, and I won't go to another brand of phones, but I would still like to get the latest features from future updates.
I know with my old blackBerry Bold 9700 I could download the software from BlackBerry.
    just wondering.  thank you.

T-Mobile would be responsible for supporting any phone bought from them for one year (the one-year warranty) so I'd say you can expect updates from them for another year.
    Cheers.

As you can see from the chart above, the BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 are almost identical when it comes to specs. wever, I found the Q10 offered a better quality screen that also provided more impressive viewing angles. This is due to the Z10’s lesser quality LCD Disply that only pumps out a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, while the Q10’s S-AMOLED 720p screen flourishes above.
In the end, I came to the conclusion that the handset that appeals to the larger majority of smartphone customers is the Z10. This device represents what people are accustomed to in the year 2013, while the Q10 appeals to a shrinking customer base that prefers a physical keypad over a virtual one.

Q10 vs. Z10 is a highly personal choice. As you pointed out in the specs the basic internals are identical. It comes down to full touch screen vs. physical keyboard. For a traditionalist like me it's the Q10 FTW. But then I cut my teeth on BlackBerrys all the way back to the 7230 model. BlackBerry's outstanding physical keyboard is ingrained in my DNA by now. I've also used Android phones and an iPhone so I'm no stranger to the full touch screen, and I even got used to the on-screen keyboards with that form factor. But the Q10 for me has just enough of a screen that I don't miss the full size screen too much, and it's more than compensated for by the keyboard I love so much.
The best choice is to have them both! But if you must pick one, best to go to a store and try them both out for as long as the sales reps will tolerate you.

  • Synchronizing Outlook Calendar and Contacts with Blackberry Q10

I got a new Blackberry Q10 device and wanted to synchronize it with my Outlook calendar and contacts on my notebook. I installed Blackberry Link on the notebook. But in a pop down menu I was only allowed to choose from 2 pst-files which are not the correct ones. The one I want to choose is in another folder. But how can I select this one to synchronize with?
Thanks for your help. And sorry for the silly question, but I am only a very normal user without any specific know how.
    Kind regards

    Hey MalikaBauer,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Is the Microsoft Outlook profile that you're currently trying to access on an Microsoft Exchange server or is hosted at a different location?  If so, you will not be able to access that PST with BlackBerry Link.
BlackBerry Link currently only supports local PST files.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • I cannot download Facebook and I don't have a blackberry world icon

I have just purchased a secondhand blackberry curve 8310 from ebay and I cannot download Facebook and I don't have a blackberry world icon on the home page. When I try to download facebook it says my device does not support this function. I have tried removing the battery while the phone is still on and registering via advanced options - host routing table, but no joy. Any suggestions?

    Hey sambrook,
    Welcome to the forums.
Here are the system requirements for Facebook for BlackBerry.
To use Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones, the following is required:
A wireless service data plan that supports SN applications
    Wi-Fi connectivity
A Facebook account (an account can be created from the app)
2.7 MB of available application memory
BlackBerry® Device Software v5.0 or later
If you are using a BlackBerry curve 8310 as listed in your profile then you most likely are not running Device Software version 5.0 or higher.
From your BlackBerry browser try to download Facebook by going to www.BlackBerry.com/Facebook and choose the options that says you do not have App World access.
Let us know how you make out.

  • I am looking into Buying Retail a New Blackberry Q10. Doing this to avoid having to Give up my old Data Plan. Have read that when you activate a new Phone it forces you to pick a new Plan. Is this True? and How to I avoid this? 20 Year Verizon Client

I am looking into Buying Retail a New Blackberry Q10. Doing this to avoid having to Give up my old Data Plan. Have read that when you activate a new Phone it forces you to pick a new Plan. Is this True? and How to I avoid this? Any other advise in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
    20 Year Plus Verizon Client

The only "unlimited" plan I can think of where this would not apply is the old Connect plan for multimedia/basic phones.  That unlimited data, on devices such as the LG Voyager, EnvTouch, and other "multimedia" devices is  not the same.
If you currently have an individual $29.99 unlimited data plan with a 3G Smartphone, then you can buy a BBQ10 retail and activate it with the same data plan and keep the unlimited.

  • Blackberry Q10 Contacts Issues

We are having some issues with the Blackberry Q10 contacts and how it merges contacts together.
All of the contacts needed in the phone are stored in an Exchange account. When we added the Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, it added contacts from those accounts as well into the contact list. We do not need these contacts to be synced, but I didn’t see a way to add the accounts without having the contacts sync with the phone. The major problem we are having is that the phone is merging contacts of seemingly random people. It would merge people together with completely different names with seemingly no reason to merge together. This leads to various issues like the wrong picture showing up and the wrong name showing up while making and receiving calls.
In addition to wanting help with resolving this issue, I have a few relevant questions.
    1)      Is there any way to Unlink all of the contacts so we can quickly resolve the issue of random people being merged together?
    2)      Is there any way to have Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn accounts on the phone but without having their contacts/connections synced into the phone’s contact list?
    Thanks

As stated you can unlink them one by one. You can also remove Facebook, Twitter etc contacts from the phone book list. By swipping down from the top of the screen, then select settings. There you will see, show accounts in contact list. You can select off to remove Facebook, Twitter etc.
However if you have a contact in your phone book who is also one of your Facebook, Twitter etc etc friends, those contacts details will be linked together and as stated, you'll have to unlink them one by one.
