I have an iPhone 4S that is nearly 2 years old. Software is up-to-date.
I've been having problem with it for a while, the home button needs to be pressed several times before it works (sometimes), the button at the top works intermittently, very difficult to take a screenshot, and it is impossible to hold it down in order to switch it off.
These problems weren't the end of the world til this afternoon, where I get a text and can't open Messages. Normally what I do is try again in an hour and all is well. I have noticed the same with Facebook and Whatsapp, but others are working fine. I've done the force-quit of applications thing in the multitask view, but this hasn't helped. Can't turn it off and on again unless I wait for the battery to drain.
Anyone with the same problem, or suggestions?
Is it time for me to get a new phone, iPhone or otherwise?

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.
If the buttons are not functioning properly, take the device to Apple for evaluation and possible replacement.

Facebook and iPhoto problems

Hello and have a new year full of joy and happiness!!!!! I have problems using iPhoto from facebbok. When i am in facebook and especially in my page and i try to upload a photo, Finder opens and i choose iPhoto library. After that i click "open" and....... what?????/ At the place of the supposed uploaded photo appears a word "Error". It happens enery time i try to upload a photo that way. Please help.

You started to delete the Library on your Internal disk, right? This may well have something to do with the problems having - very likely there are bits gone...
If you copied the Library to the external, use that one.

Facebook and youtube problems Nokia E5

i can't log in facebook and browsing videos by youtube using the WLAN connection.
facebook just keep waiting to log in and after all it fails to log in
and youtube just appear a screen with connecting and nothing happens
plz anyone help!
web browsing is working good but i cant open some pages like facebook ,youtube , twitter by the web browser !!!!

Go to ovi store if it's open & download the facebook apps its free you won't be needing the browser for that.

Facebook and YouTube problems

When I am in Facebook my iPad automatically changes to youtube and brings up a random youtube clip. I close youtube and reopen facebook and sometimes it goes straight back to youtube again. Any clues out there?

If you are using Safari as opposed to one of the Facebook apps then you could try its Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

just rsync the files to a compressed Zpool. do this using shadow migration, and you only loose access to the data for a few seconds.
1) make new dataset with compression
2) enable shadow migration between the new and old
3) change the database to use the new location
4) watch as data is automatically copied and compressed :-)
the the down side, you need extra space to pull the off.

Blackberry Apps like Facebook and Whatsapp don't work over wifi, what should I do?

My BB AT&T 9810 does not works over with wi-fi only browser or youtube, I don't use Services Plans, but the bb is supposed to work even only with wifi, apps only work shortly after a restart and longer if I do a Battery pull.

If I recall correctly, open your Browser > Options > and set the browser to a hotspot browser for it work over WIFi only.

Lumia 630 and treasure tag problem

Hello,
I justa purchased a tresure tag WS-2 and connected it to my Nokia Lumia 630.
Bluetooth on my phone is on. I can setup the tag (i.e. name it).
Software seams not to work properly.
When i get away from the tag, the tag makes the sound, but my phone doesnt make any sound nor any written notification. Also there is no option to locate the tag in the Here map.
Any suggestions or similar problems?

Did whatever you suggested but yet nothing.
Option show in map does not appear at all.
All notifications are set "on"
Do you think my location may be an issue?
I am in Greece and the phone is set in greek.
Edit: Demonstration works fine. Both tag and phone make the noise

Lumia 630 bugs and defects.

I am using Lumia 630 since last 4/5 months but now i am feeling some major problems . I am listing the problems below. Please help me to resolve then. And please tell me solution other then hard reset cause its not possible for me to re-download ask my software after hard reset. I have more than 60 software installed. And i don't have a Wi-Fi to download them again. The problems are:
1. The folders of WhatsApp photos are not showing in the photos section. Though the WhatsApp photos are in the picture folder in sd card. They are not showing in all photos also.
2. Not even a single song is showing in music section . But other third party software are showing them.
3. The .xap files are not showing in store . In the install local app section only few software are showing but i have many other .xap files also.
4. While calling with headphone plugged in i could not able to change the volume of headphones. It's always remain on full volume.
Please help me to solve these problems. I am facing many problems. And its disappointing me. During first 2/3 months it was going ask right and none of these problems were there.
Please please help me to drive these problems. I have already tried hard reset many times but after 2/3 days it again showed the same problem.

And please tell me is there any option to back up my software so that i could try hard reset again.

Lumia 630 Bluetooth problem

Hi... I have a real problem with file receiving through Bluetooth in my brand new Lumia 630 Dual... Which is... Every time when I receive a file i am asked to click accept button for each and every file from a same paired device...... Y is it asking for confirmation for each and every file.....even from a paired device....... Anyone plzz help me.... Plz...

Problem: Transfer SMS from N9 to Lumia 630

Hi there,
I'm having problems transfering my SMS messages from my old N9 to my Lumia 630.
1. Transfer my Data does not work: It finds the messages and pictures but then it gets interrupted and I get the message on the Lumia 630: "No Connection - If it's not clear why these problems...". It CAN transfer the pictures, however.
2. I have transferred messages to the computer from the N9 - both in a CSV file and also every message separately. Is there a way I could import them to the Lumia this way? PC Suite doesn't seem to work with the Lumia - it doesn't recognize the device.
3. Are there any other ways this could be done?
I am running Windows 7 64-bit.

Lumia 630 email subfolder sync problem

Hi,
I recently bought a Lumia 630 phone and to my annoyance I have noticed that it does not sync my Exchange subfolders. I have configured the Exchange account correctly and I get all of my emails from inbox synced exactly like they should but I can’t get anything from folders. The phone starts synchronizing folders as it should but after the synchronization is completed there are no emails in that folder. This happens even if I set the ‘Download email from’ setting to ‘any time’.
All my other Windows phones (Lumia 825 and Samsung GT8700) and other portable devices are able to retrieve email from the folders, so this behavior is new to me. Also it seems to only impact Exchange as the subfolder downloads work perfectly from Yahoo and Gmail.
I have re-created the Exchange account multiple times but the behavior still remains the same.
The OS version that is installed to my phone is: 8.10.12359.845
Would appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Is these the steps how you created your account?
Exchange can be set up only if your company has a Microsoft Exchange server. In addition, your company IT administrator must have activated Microsoft Exchange for your account.
Before starting the setup, make sure you have the following:
A corporate mail address
Your Exchange server name (contact your company IT department)
Your network domain name (contact your company IT department)
Your office network password
Depending on the Exchange server configuration, you may need to type in additional info during the setup. If you don't know the correct info, contact your company IT department.
During the setup, you can define how often you want your phone to sync the content with the server. Only content defined when setting up the account is synced. To sync additional content, change the Exchange account settings.
With Exchange, it may be mandatory to use the lock code.

Lumia 630 and saved maps On a microsd card

hello all,
I am currently using a lumia 630 and i am having the following problem... I travel a lot around europe and i want to have all the map information about europe installed to my phone. The problem is that the phone's memory is limited and if i download all the information i want there will be no space left for anything else!!! Is there a way to download all map information to a microsd card???

At the moment there is not. I use the 630 as a secondary phone and would love to use it for Maps but just like you I hit the memory problem. I have all maps stored in my 1020, but that can't maintain battery for long journeys. Until they change it so that maps can be stored on memory card, the phones with 8GB memory are not good options for serious map users.

Lumia 630 wifi problem

I jus got lumia 630 and i have problem, wehn i download apps true wifi its very slow and it stop completly but when i lock scren..but in 3g mode everything works fine...router isn't problem i tried others. everything besides downloadig apps works fine.

I bought Lumia 630 with windows 8.1. I can connect to internet with connection from BSNL/Airtel, the service providers. Problem is connecting through Wifi. In my office, I have wifi connection. While providing Pass Word for the connection in the phone, it cannot connect. But the name of network is shown.
Similarly I have set up a hotspot in my Windows 8.1 Laptop., which is connected to net through cable connection having IP address. This network name also appears in Wifi Panel of the Phone.. When I give the password, it fails to connect to my hot spot. More over this hot spot can be connected through Android Phone.
It appears some adjustment is required in the New Lumia 630 phone. But I am unable to solve the Problem. It needs mention that in my Lumia 630 phone, 3G data connection has been given by BSNL, the service provider, though an access point. I removed the sim to check whether without that wifi connection can be obtained, but without any success.
I will be thankful, if a solution could be given for the problem.

Can someone help me with a problem I have publishing photos to Facebook and Flickr

I am using LR4.4 on my HP laptop (Windows 7 Home premium) with Mozilla Firefox as my default browser. I was able to publish some photos from LR to my Facebook account early in October. I have some new photos to publish, but find I now can no longer publish to Facebook. I get a message – “Facebook authentication check failed”. I have tried to reset up publishing to Facebook within LR, but when I click on the Authorize in Facebook, I get a Firefox Error Message: “The address wasn't understood Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because one of the following protocols (lightroom) isn't associated with any program or is not allowed in this context. You might need to install other software to open this address.” I have tried using IE as the default browser, but I get the following Internet Explorer Error Message: “The webpage cannot be displayed. Most Likely Cause: Some content or files on this webpage require a program that you don't have installed.” From the Adobe website (helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/errors-occur-using-lightrooms-publish.html) I have unsuccessfully tried all 5 solutions to resolve this issue.
Other steps I have tried - I have removed the LR app from Facebook, then attempted to Authorize from LR. I can get through 3 steps in Facebook (request for Public Profile, accept Posting to Facebook, and accept managing FB pages), but the final step again fails. In Lightroom, after the authentication step fails, I note that the “Failed to receive authentication token” is highlighted blue. When I click on this, a popup appears (see below). I had found a suggestion that this should be changed (I can’t recall what the alternative url was – but part of it was …”export.facebook”…) but I’m not sure where this change should be made. I attempted to paste the new link into this field, but this didn’t seem to work either.
I have also tried to set up publishing of photos to my Flickr account. I go to the LR setup, which directs me to my Flickr account, and click on the authorize button. But again I get the same error message! I am just about at the end of my knowledge / ability to solve my Publishing problem. I would really appreciate you help and advice with this issue. Can you please help me?
