Facebook app crashes on iphone 5
I have a new iPhone 5, activated last week. The Facebook app crashes after about 10 seconds everytime I login on my account. I have uninstalled and reinstalled more times that I can count, I have deleted and added back using iTunes, I have changed my Facebook password, I have rebooted the phone numerous times, I have deleted and added back accounts, I have spent hours with Verizon and Apple techs, not to mention techs where I purchased the phone, I have reported the problem to Facebook numerous times (but, of course, they have not responded0, and I even (on Verizon's advice) returned and exchanged the phone for a new one. Upon activation of the new phone, the facebook app crashed immediately. Last night a tech suggested I logout of my account and log back in using a different account. I did this with two different Facebook accounts and they both worked perfectly. When I logged out and logged back in on my account, it crashed. I have mirrored the account settings on one of the Facebook accounts that worked and that did not help. ANY advice would be appreciated. Is it a bad setting in my Facebook account? Should I do a hard reset of the phone? Should I deactivate my Facebook account and reactivate? Please help.

I have an IPhone 4S and IPad 3. I have upgraded to IOS 6 on both devices and also have updated with the latest Facebook app. However, every time I update my Status in Facebook using the app, the app crashes on both devices. When I reopen the app, the update that I tried to post shows up twice in my News feed but as best I can tell, it is only posting once to Facebook.
Can anyone help me out with this? I have already tried deleting and reinstalling the app, but that does not seem to work.

My facebook app crashes as i open it. I ave rebootes the system on my iphone still no use. I also uninstalled the app and put a new one but its the same. Please advice . Using iphone 5 Nd ios7.0.3
doesn't matter what iphone you have, the issue isn't your phone, but with facebook, either contact the app devloper or look at their support site to troubleshoot. Or leave them a review stating your issue.

Hi, I cant login to the facebook app on my iphone 5 ios 6.0.2. I keep getting an error message saying 'There was an error logging in using single sign on' when im asked to log in again i get a 'session expired' message. This only started happening yesterday. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks.
I am having the same problem and took the following steps to mitigate it to no avail.
1. I deleted the Facebook app on the phone and turned off Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings.
2. I re-enabled Facebook in the iPhone's system-wide settings and reinstalled the Facebook app and logged in again. It worked. For about an hour.
3. I completely restored the phone to a previous backup (before the problems started) and reenabled Facebook .... reinstalled the app.... and now it works intermittenly. But it hasn't worked in about 12 hours now (just tried a few minutes ago).
Please advise. -

Any change after a reset which is similar to a computer restart and is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release?

You should be able to restore it by going into the app store, then into the "purchased" section (along the bottom of the screen), and finally redownloading it to your phone by clicking on the app icon in the list of purchased apps.

Alan3rd party app settings and data created and stored by a 3rd party app is not stored with the app. Each app has its own "sandbox" available on the device where the app settings and data created and stored by the app is stored. If you delete an app from your iPhone or iPad, this also deletes the app's "sandbox".

have you seen anyone with the apple logo on facebook recently? i'm asking because a simple google search will tell you that facebook is the one blocked the apple logo, or the 'posted from iphone' from showing up. now you've got me wondering.

Most recently, I updated my iOS version to 7.0.4. After that, my facebook app often gets crashed and even though I re-install it, the problem persists. And also, the phone freezes much often. I am really afraid that my device is damaged or engulfed with bugs. How can I solve this? Help please!!

My Facebook App crashes everytime I open it on my IPAD 2. How do you fix that?
I have reset my IPad 2 several times. Reloaded the most current IOS for the IPAD and Facebook. Facebook still crashes everytime I open it. I had the same problem on my Iphone 4 but reverted to the previous Facebook version and it works. I tried that on my Ipad but it doesn't work. Any one know how to fix this? Facebook won't respond at all when I submit the problem to them.
Here's a few things I try when an app misbehaves and crashes.
1. Quit the app and restart it like this: Go to the Home screen and double click the Home button. That will reveal the row of recently used apps at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold on the app in question until it wiggles and displays a minus sign. Tap the minus sign to actually quit the app. Then tap anywhere on the screen above that bottom row to return the screen to normal. Then restart the app and see if it work like normal.
2. If the first suggestion did not work try quitting the app again but instead of restarting it right away, reset your device like this: Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. Ten restart the app and see if it works.
3. If neither of the previous suggestions worked I suggest deleting the app by tapping and holding on the app until it jiggles and displays a Rex X. Tap the X and confirm that you want to delete the app. Then reset your device. After the device has restarted go to the App Store and download Facebook again.
If all these fail you might just have to search for an alternative app until Facebook fixes the problem. -
Facebook app crashes immediately upon opening
For some reason, I can not open Facebook app on iPhone or iPad .it crashes and closes immediately upon opening. Any ideas?
Facebook is the app that crashes the most but others do it as well. I found out that I was having a problem because I took the phone in to a 'genius' as my batterey life seemed short. The genius plugged my phone in to some diagnostic gadget and informed me of these crashes, told me that some apps might be corrupted and that I would need to restore the phone. I wasn't properly prepared to hand it over to him right then & there so told him I'd be back once I had done a backup.
I called AppleCare to see if this restoration was something that I could do on my own as it seemed to involve corrupt apps.
Meanwhile I should state that when an app begins to act up I delete it from the phone and re-download it from the store. This seems to work for a bit.
Here is where, as an old time Mac user I begin to rant a little. I keep my Macs spic and span. What is the deal that Apple hasn't provided a utility for keeping one's iPhone 'clean'? This annoys me. I will know just how annoyed once I put my call into a genius and find out what it's going to take to get my phone running smoothly again. -
Yesterday, the Facebook app is crashing on my iPhone. Tap the FB icon and the screen pops up with a blank white page with the FB blue line along the top - no text anywhere, then closes (crashes) after 2 seconds. Nothing has changed on the iPhone recently - this FB app crash happened all of a sudden.

Deleted FB app, turned off/on phone, reinstalled app (no change).
Deleted FB app, turned off phone, logged into FB via computer, reset password, reinstalled FB app on iPhone (no change).
Any other suggestions? We're not ready to upgrade the iPhone to iOS 6.1, though that may fix the issue - not sure. Odd that it happened all-of-a-sudden.
PaulThe exact same problem is happening to my iPhone as well. Tried all steps, nothing worked. When browsing the files used/created by the Facebook application (in the backup folder) I found a file named "error" with the following contents:
