Facebook app download problem

Tried to download Facebook app update to iPhone 4s last night.  It would not complete.
This a.m., I have a fb icon on the screen -- dark-grayed out.  It will not delete.
I tried downloading the app again, and it will not download.  I have also turned the phone off and on, and still have the grayed app that won't work, won't delete, and for which I can't download an update.
'have no idea what else to try.

Are you on WiFi or 3G? If WiFi, when I've had this happen, first I go to Settings & turn WiFi off. Wait a minute, then turn it back on. Usually fixes things.

You sure you didn't sync the iPhone.  Just re-sync it to your computer to get the app back or download it again.

  • Facebook app download error

I've tried to download Facebook application from blackberry site to my 8520 through desktop and connect my 8520 to desktop using USB cable as instructed. But after browser verified that 8520 connect then I press download, browser crash. Always happen like this.
FYI, somehow I can't download Facebook app directly from my 8520 so I choose download through desktop. I'm using windows 7, blackberry destop manager 5 and device version 4.6.1
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    You can try this

enter an email address that’s integrated with your BlackBerry smartphone below and click submit to have a download link sent to you. I just did it and its work.

  • Facebook app downloaded without permission/automatically

I didn't download the Facebook app , i was using safari then my phone froze and restarted itself. And now i have the Facebook app.I'm pretty sure i neither entered my pass nor used my fingerprint to allow it.How can this be possible ? Any ideas ?

Could be that you did have Automatic Downloads enabled, but then reset settings at some point, or whatever Safari page you were on had a link to the App Store and you accidentally installed it.  Could be a lot of things.  Not really sure.
I recommend deleting the app and keeping an eye out to see if the issue resurfaces.

  • Apple id and app download problem

I'm trying to download purchases and app updates on my iphone 4s and when it asks for my password and hit ok another id/password box pops up and someone else's apple id is listed and it's asking for the password.  I cannot get any further and apple support has been no help.  I tried resetting my password, logging out of the store and back in and still no luck.  Help!  The apple id that pops up is my dad's id but I have never logged into anything using his id so I don't understand why this is happening.

Check Settings/iTunes and AppStore/AppleID and make sure that your AppleID is filled in. If not , sign out and sign in with the correct info.
To make sure that no other apps or videos are on your device than the one you bought, set it up as new device, explained here: How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Content that is not bought with your ID can't be used on your phone, that's why his ID and password is asked when you try to use those apps downloaded in the store.

  • App downloads problems - downloading stalls.....

i am getting this almost every time i download an app. i try to download an app (it always happens when downloading an update) and the download stalls. after an initial message saying that the download is not available, it gets stuck with a black app icon and the word "waiting" below the app icon.
i've tried restoring the phone, resetting network settings. nothing helps.
if i do a hard restart while the app download is stalled, the app gets deleted completely and i have to re-download it again.
if i download an update for an app on my computer, then sync the phone to the computer, after the app download has already stalled on the phone, the app does not get updated. i still have to do a hard restart of the iphone4, which deletes the app, forcing me to completely re-download it.

I came across this issue on my iPad and iPhone today. I did some research and it was suggested that you need to change your region to wherever in the world you originally purchased the app.
    This worked for me.
I had tried signing in and out, deleting apps and resetting my devices; because I had never used any Apple ID except for my own personal one, I thought that those options would sort it. I changed my region to the uk (where the apps were purchased) and now they have updated with no other issues.
    I hope this helps

  • Mac Mail.app download problems

    Hello,
I think I have tried everything.  I am currently trying to do the simplest tax ever.  I want my mail downloads to go to my downloads folder that I see in my downloads folders, the same folder safari does fine downloading too.  However when I click to download something in my mail like a photo or pdf.  It pops up my "Mail Downloads finder" so I went into the mail preferences and changed it to a different folder.  However, it changed nothing.  It sill downloads to the same folder hidden away in a library.
Not sure what to do, about to go to the apple store and ask them whats up.
Anyone have any other advice for me.

I think I've figured this out. I still have to "sneak up" on my .MAC prefs... but they seem to be working now. In addition, I deleted the Mail.app plist files, which solved my Mail problem.

  • Ipod app download problem - can't save security questions. Pls help!

For quite a while now my daughter has been unable to download apps to her iPod Touch.  Whenever she tries she is asked to fill in 3 security questions, backup email address etc.  She goes through the process as asks, but then, when she tries to save it, gets the message 'an error occurred, we cannot save your changes'.  She has been very patient, but is getting really frustrated with it. I thought I'd try and help and have found several references to this, and similar problems on users communities, but no solutions.
We'd be thrilled if someone could point us to a solution
    Thank you!

  • Apps download problem

My iPod touch won't download apps anymore. I am connected to wifi, but it keeps saying "connection manager invoke, failed to find service connection url." I've had this iPod for about a year now and I've never had this problem.

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - Go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and sign out and sign back in
-Try when connected to another network
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Apple ID & App download problem

I'm having the folliwing problem with my Apple ID. When my sister got her iPhone, you needed a Credit card to create an ID and she didn't have one. I used my ID to download basic apps on her phone back then. Later on, she changed the default apple ID on her phone but still, whatever App I purchase, automatically downloads on her phone too. I went to Manage decives and removed her phone, I Deauthorized all computers except for my laptop but she can still get all apps I download.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks.

have her go to settings/itunes&app stores/turn automatic downloads off on her device.

  • App download problem

Yesterday I decided to buy an app from BB Appworld, specifically, Private Memo by Infinite Apps.  Everything went well up to and through the payment but when I clicked on download I got an error message to the effect that some kind of product key was not obtainable; thus, no download.  I send an email to the vendor, no response.  I sent an email to Blackberry and got back some kind of boilerplate BS.  It's only $2 but there is a principle involved I would say.  I don't expect anyone to have a solution for this, but just beware of buying from that app producer.
    Solved!

Ahhh...OK...well darn, it's a shame I wiped out my first reply then...oh well, thank goodness for forum macros!!
First, I suggest that you clear the AppWorld application cache:
    1. Open App World
    2. Go to My World
    3. Follow one (and only one!) of these steps:
3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T
3b. For Touch Screen Only BBs -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (
    3c. For newer (e,g., OS6 and 7) BB's, see this KB:
KB24714 How to clear the BlackBerry App World cache
    4. AppWorld should close.
    5. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot
    6. Return to AppWorld/MyWorld (it may be sluggish while it re-synchronizes) and see if you can reinstall from the Uninstalled apps list.
If step (4) does not happen as listed, then the clear cache did not work.
For more registration key information, see this KB:
KB18646 How to locate and enter the license key for an application purchased through BlackBerry App World
In some cases, it has been discovered that updates (from AppWorld obtained apps) require additional steps in order to install the update. If the update will not install, please attempt this:
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Applications > highlight the app > > Delete
AppWorld > MyWorld > Login > highlight the app (if it shows at all, in any state) > > Delete
Use either your PC (via Mass Storage Mode) or your BB (via Media > > Explore) and find any references (folders, files) to the app. Delete whatever you find. Search both your Device Memory as well as your Media Card.
Use the above AppWorld user guide link to re-install the app -- a new registration/activation key should then be provided
Otherwise, you do need to keep pressure on the developer...and having the exact and complete error message would help as well.
Good luck and let us know!
