Facebook app notifications C6

I have had a C6 for over 6 months now and I know at the beginning tehre was no way to get notifications in the preloaded facebook app the phone comes with. I was wondering whether this had been fixed yet or if there is a way to get them?? It would be really helpful!

Oh sorry, i meant Socially. I had that on my 5800. It allowed me to view and update twitter, facebook and foursquare at the same time along with location services. It also has notification popups and tha ability to sync your phonebook pictures to their social network account profile pics.

Nokia Facebook app notifications Cant can't get ...

On Nokia's preinstalled Facebook app (social networks app) I get new notifications and I clicking on the widget I geto to notifications list, but when I click on that new notification, I can't geto to comment/photo/page/group in question! Like there's no link to it. EG: When I click a on notification "John Doe also commented on Jane Doe's on a post in GROUP" to see what was commented only "no available actions" is displayed. And I dont even know how to get to that GROUP through this Nokia's FB app. I have no such when problems using mobile web browser.

My Facebook app is not sending me pop up notifications, how can i fix this?

I have installed the official FB app and accidentally hit Don't Allow when it initially asked me about the push notifications. I have gone back and made sure it's all on in my settings, but it still isn't working. I have deleted the app and turn off the phone and back on and redownloaded it. But it's still not working. How can i get it to work and send me the pop up alert when i get something new?

Got it!!!! A re-install is NOT the answer. You need to turn on individual notifications under Settings > Facebook > Push Notifications, BUT (and this is a big and confusing BUT) you also need to turn on global push settings under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendards > Fetch New Data (and change the Push slider to 'on'). This doesn't sound like it makes sense, but I guess that the push slider under 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars' is actually for ALL push notifications on iPhone, and not just Mail, Contacts and Calendar apps!

My facebook app has stopped updating and send push notifications while not open. How can I fix this?

My iphone facebook app just recently stopped sending push notifications when I receive messages. It doesn't even show the little red circle on the icon.
If I open the app all updates will be loaded and when I close out the icon will have the little red circle indicating the amount of unread messages I have. It will not update while the app is closed though.
Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Check your Notification Center settings (in the Settings app) to see if you have Facebook blocked on anything.
If not, just delete the App, reboot your phone, then reinstall from App Store.

Notifications (specifically for the Facebook app)

I just bought a Nokia 720, and so far I'm very disappointed because the notifications for the Facebook app don't come through at all.
When I get messages on FB chat I expect to be notified, and having used Android and iOS in the past this isusually what happens, but not so on this phone.
It's very frustrating and I'm really disappointed with the phone because of it. Simple things such as notifications should not be a problem. I'm not sure if it has the same problem for other apps, as I have been focusing on trying to fix this specific problem.
I can't find a solution. Having the app notification settings to toasts and tile count I presumed if I got a message it would show me at the top of the screen and then leave a number on the cover of the FB app.
Is there a way to fix this? I'd like to fix it and then I can start enjoying my new phone, and not feeling like I wasted £300.

After searching and searcing I found that a suggestion to:
setting > general > reset > reset location and privacy
it worked...
i just had to reinstall the app from the app store.

On my Facebook app, when I get a notification my iPhone 5 and my iPod touch 4 doesn't make a sound. Help???

Hey guys! I really need help! Ever since I got my iPod touch 4, my Facebook app will not make sounds for notifications. I now have an iPhone 5 and it does the same. I have the sound set to on as well as vibrate but the ringtone I set only plays when I post something via notification center. It lights up and blinks(led flash for alerts) but not a sound. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have the same problem since I updated to iOS 7.0.3. and althought all my notifications are turned on to view on lock screen, I don't get any push message notifications. Previously with iOS 7.0.2, I got push message notifications from news apps, gmail, viber, whatsapp, hangouts,... so I re-installed the backup with iOS 7.0.2.
Since several months, I see the same problem recurring for a lot of people with the older iPhones 4, but it seems like Apple Support doesn't care. None of the help requests are reliably answered.
Today I called Apple Support, but as my Iphone is "old", they can't provide me an answer unless I pay for it. They also told me that the problem is app related and not system related but I don't see it that way. Why is everything working well in iOS 7.0.2 and not in iOS 7.0.3?
Kayler2, I suggest that you re-install the backup with iOS 7.0.2. and you will again be able to get notifications.
I sincerely hope that someone has a better solution for this problem, but for now, it's the best we can do.

IOS6 Notifications in Facebook Messenger vs. Facebook.app

I disabled push notificaitons inside the Facebook.app for messages, hoping that they would appear with a badge + alert on the Facebook Messenger.app instead.
However, this is not the case...
The badge is upadated for Facebook.app, and nothing happens if I don't have the Facebook Messenger.app window open.
Is this normal? Or is there something wrong with iOS 6?

I moved the enable notifications sliders of both apps off and then on, which seems to have fixed the problem.
Weird.
Definitely some sort of hang-up. Anyway, how come no one replied?

Facebook App - Problems with Newsfeed & Missing Notifications/Messages

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP. I continue to have two frustrating problems with my Facebook for Blackberry app that I installed directly via RIM's website:
1. I am always missing notifications & messages on my blackberry. Sometimes they come through and other times they do not. Right now my blackberry said I had no new notifications or messages, but when I logged onto my Facebook account on my PC it showed I had 2 new messages. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Facebook app three different times (each time also removing & reinstalling my battery). After doing this, it seems to work consistently for a short while (maybe a week or two) and then starts missing notifications & messages all over again. This is incredibly unreliable and frustrating - RIM really needs to fix this.
2. My second problem is that on my blackberry Facebook app I continue to see posts from apps that my friends interact with in my newsfeed that I have blocked on my main Facebook page (i.e. games like Farmville, Hidden Chronicles, various horoscope apps, etc). If I have blocked them on my regular Facebook account and they do not show up in my newsfeed when I'm logged into Facebook on a computer, why am I seeing them on my newsfeed on my blackberry? Again, this is a very annoying problem and really needs to be fixed.
I hope someone in the forum can help me wth these issues.

I haven't tried the older version of skype yet. But I did try one thing that worked, it's just not ideal. Basically I set up a new account through skype and then logged in through that account. Everything worked perfectly fine. I could send and receive messages and everything updated like it was supposed to. Altough I obviously had to readd all my contacts and group chats, which was a pain. I logged out of that account and logged back into my original one and it was still having the same problems. I have absolutely no idea why a new account will work fine but my old account won't. But if you want to keep the updated version of skype and don't mind all of the hassle of making a new account, that's one sort of solution.

Push Notification for Facebook App is Not Working Help?

i went to general settings and everything was set to "ON" but it ONLY gives me notifications sometimes..i had a glitch for my Facebook app and was having problems so I decided to uinstall and reinstall and after reinstalling, the push notification seems to ONLY work sometimes and not often anymore. What could be causing this? a malware/infection for iPhone or what could be causing this?

Try first to check your facebook account settings--> notification tab.
Try to remove any app like IM or MSN that use facebook messages from the facebook account setting page.
you can also download facebook messanger app. if you create a US account i.e. put a fake US address.

Facebook App - Not receiving notifications

Since yesterday, the facebook app on my phone(8530 curve) worked fine. I would always recieve notifcations when friends woul message me, comment on status', pictrues, etc. but yesterday for some reason, my facebook started to get buggy. It would tell me that it wasn't able to fufill my request and would display an error code at the end of that message. After 100 times of trying to log in, eventually it would let me, but then it would sign me out right away.
I was told to take out my battery & put it back in, and that worked. However, today I am not recieving notifcations. Half way through the day, I got a message that appeared on facebook when I logged in & it said something about my push notifications not being on and I would recieve a message telling me when they were working? I have no idea what that means and I have no idea how to turn push notifications on?
I checked my settings on my computer for facebook, and everything is fine. I receive facebook notifcation e-mail on my hotmail(no spam) but the notifications just won't appear on my phone.
How can I fix this? I have tried reinstalling facebook already.

Facebook app is no longer working on my BB curve 8520!HELP please??

I have had my BB 8520 for quite some time now & never had any problem having access to my Facebook app , it was slow with notifications etc etc but never did it not allow me to use the app!! So I woke up one morning and opened my facebook app from the previous night as always & it had frozen its home updates so I tried to refresh the page & it reloaded the page but then it was un-responsive from then on!!so I removed the battery,never helped!I un-installed it,rei-installed it,never helped!!I then deleted the app off app world and re-downloaded it,never helped!!HELP???I can still see the facebook app on my home page and when I click & open the fb app it opens up the login page through the app so I put my email and pin and then say login , the bubble pops up saying contacting facebook so I wait. .then it says in the bubble 'The facebook server is not able to handle your request at this time. Please try again later. (1503) ????? My facebook account still works in the facebook web internet page when searched through google but the App has crashed!!

It could just be that your phone is having issues connecting to the Facebook server at the moment because of a communication error. You can try resending your service books to see if that might help, otherwise I'd try to wait another few hours. To resend your service books, go to Setup > Email Settings, press the BB Menu button and select Service Books. From here, you should be able to resend your service books.
If resending the service books doesn't help and if it still doesn't work in a few hours, come back and let us know as there are some more drastic steps we can try to get you back up and running.

Facebook app no longer works on ipad

When I installed the latest IOS 7.0.4 I can no longer log into the facebook app. It asks me to enter user and password but then gives a messag that I couldnt connect to the server. I have read other people having this same issue. Is there a fix for this?

3. Make sure Date and Time is correctly set; Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On
4. Make sure Push Notification is enabled
5. Make sure phone number or email address is correct
6. Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) until you see the Apple Logo

My Facebook app has disappeared

My Facebook app has disappeared. It still appears in the purchased section of the my app store with status OPEN but when I click on OPEN nothing happens.
I have restarted my iPad, restored settings and still no help. I was also advised to cable link the iPad to my laptop and in iTunes remove/delete the Facebook app, then re purchase it. When I tried to remove it I was shown a message saying, this will not be deleted from your IOS device.
Yes eh I can still access Facebook from Safari but that defeats the purpose of the app which gives me notifications immediately.
I am really keen to find the Solution.

You do not want to do the Delete/Redownload the App from/to your iTunes Library - you want to Delete/Redownload it from/to your Device. When you hook up your device to iTunes, click on the device, then on the Apps tab to the right in the Device Profile Screens (not on the App under Apps in the Library).
You should see a little box next to the App that says "Remove". Click on that. It will then change to "Will Remove". Sync your device to remove the app. Then eject the device, check it to make sure the app is no linger listed with "Open" next to it. (depending on your display options, you may still see it but with a little Cloud next to it, or you may not see it listed at all).
Plug the device back into the computer, and select it again. Then, under Apps in the Device Profile, see if the little box next to the App says "Will Install" If it does, then sync to reinstall it. If it does not, click on the box until you see the "Will Install" option and then sync.

As of 3/30 when using the App for Facebook, when I log off of Facebook, it keeps me permanently logged into Facebook. If I use Safari to log into Facebook, I have no problem logging off. Is there a problem with the Facebook App??

As of 3/30/13, when logging off of Facebook using the Facebook App, it will not log me out. It is now permanently keeping me logged in. No problem logging off of Facebook when I do not use the App. Is there anyone that can tell me why this is happening and what I need to do to Logout of Facebook. I like using the App for Facebook but I also want to be able to log off, I do not like to stay logged in. Is there something different with the latest Apple software I downloaded a couple of weeks ago, IOS 6.1.3?

it also could be something different, if you try google hangounts. change password and log out it still recieves notifications. its how apples handles the "channel" notification system for apps that recieve notifications or do backroung sync, and im sure at some point that security hole will be a hijack point. i think its called XO auth. and is why it can maintain session even after an apperant logout
if you go to the app and it shows you have logged out but are still recieving notifications then that is evidence of the bug.
also look and find the option for "keep me logged in" i remember in the past that would allow a autologin after logout. also if the app does NOT save the logout status correctly in its "memory" the above refereced system will auto login you with the XO app authentication.
if there really is no keep me logged in option. then what crh24 said, they designed it delibertly to keep you logged in. though i never remember a problem on my ios 6,. are you on ios 7, bunny hop?
