Facebook App v3.3 Error - HELP!

I have a Torch 9800. I tried to upgrade earlier today to the new Facebook App v3.3. I rebooted my phone when prompted, and when my phone started up there was an Error message that said something about java.lang. Now my Facebook app is gone, and Blackberry App World will not open. I tried rebooting again, but the same thing happens. I also tried to install the Facbook app from App World online, and it says installation failed. What do I do now? Thank You!

Yep, everything was working just fine. I got an App World notification for a Facebook upgrade, so I went to App World and started the upgrade. After it was done it prompted me to reboot, like it usually does after some upgrades, and I did the reboot. When my phone came back on, right away there was an error msg that popped up. It said "Uncaught Exception java.lang.error" And that's when I noticed my icons had all shifted, because the Facebook App icon was gone. So I tried to go back to App World, but I touch it and click on it and it just refuses to open now. The only place I could even find the Facebook App was listed in Application Management, so I deleted it. Then I went to Facebook.com on my browser and tried to download the app again, and it took me to App World online, instead of through the actual app, but the Facebook App downloaded, and again I got the same error msg "Uncaught Exception java.lang.error". So, I deleted the Facebook App again, but for some reason App World will not open. (And yes, we have a data plan, and yes, "3G" is at the top. We've had these phones for almost 2 years, and nothing like this has ever happened.)

i went to general settings and everything was set to "ON" but it ONLY gives me notifications sometimes..i had a glitch for my Facebook app and was having problems so I decided to uinstall and reinstall and after reinstalling, the push notification seems to ONLY work sometimes and not often anymore. Try first to check your facebook account settings--> notification tab.
Try to remove any app like IM or MSN that use facebook messages from the facebook account setting page.
you can also download facebook messanger app. if you create a US account i.e. put a fake US address.

I'm using a bold 9900 on os7 and my facebook shows error 100 when trying to log in but I can use all my other apps. Bb app world isn't working as well. Contacted service provider n network is good

For FB -- Is there perhaps more to the error message than just "Error 100"? It is always most helpful to have the full and complete error message, including all punctuation.
For AW - can you perhaps provide a tiny bit more detail? "isn't working" pretty much leaves us to guess...
Nevertheless, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

Facebook App ID getting error

Hi,
I wanted to display Facebook posts in the Siena Application. When I used without app id everything working fine. However when I generated app id and used the same getting below error,

This problem has been fixed on April 17. To get your app to work, you have to remove then re-add your Facebook data source (again specifying your app client-id).

Facebook App Server Certificate Error

Hi all...I'm getting an error when I changed my security settings on the full web version of Facebook to https from http after discovering Facebook changed my setting without me knowing.
The problem though is now, whenever I load up Facebook on my BB, it comes up with an error saying “You are attempting to open secure connection to : fbcdn-profile-a.akamaihd.net" and it keeps doing it. I've tried deleting Facebook for BlackBerry and reinstalling it from the BlackBerry App World but this has just reproduced the same error. Is this some kind of glitch and does anyone know a fix for it?
Any help appreciated!

Every time I open the facebook app, it crashes! Help

I dont know why, and alot of other people are having the same trouble. It'd be great if someone would help, would be greatly appreciative.

Are your other apps crashing when you open them? If not delete your app and download it again.

App world network error code 40820

Hi i have issues with App world v3 with an error code 40820 which says they cant connect to the network server. I have tried all the resolutions possible in the support from blackberry but it still dosen't work.
I can view apps to download but i cant access my world or complete downloads. Please help! facebook app had an error message of 100 whereby they couldnt contact server.
I have deleted the facebook app v2 and now the App world v3 still doesn't work. Im using a bold 9900 os7.
Help required urgently!

What does work for me is - turn off cellular and on WiFi - connect to an access point and no error. Don't forget to switch off wifi and on cellular when done!
BTW. App world access problems happened for me (over cellular) with OS 7.0 OEM build on my Torch 9850. Then they (BB/VZW) pushed out a new build and the problem disapeared!!! Not to leave well enough alone, BB/VZW just made the OS 7.1 available, so I installed it - voila! the problem has reappeared. My corporate help desk said there is nothing in our BES set up that could be blocking it that he can find, so I blame BB/VZW (and there seems no way to contact them re: the KB article to say "where is the fix for OS 7.1?").

Facebook app is no longer working on my BB curve 8520!HELP please??

I have had my BB 8520 for quite some time now & never had any problem having access to my Facebook app , it was slow with notifications etc etc but never did it not allow me to use the app!! So I woke up one morning and opened my facebook app from the previous night as always & it had frozen its home updates so I tried to refresh the page & it reloaded the page but then it was un-responsive from then on!!so I removed the battery,never helped!I un-installed it,rei-installed it,never helped!!I then deleted the app off app world and re-downloaded it,never helped!!HELP???I can still see the facebook app on my home page and when I click & open the fb app it opens up the login page through the app so I put my email and pin and then say login , the bubble pops up saying contacting facebook so I wait. .then it says in the bubble 'The facebook server is not able to handle your request at this time. Please try again later. (1503) ????? My facebook account still works in the facebook web internet page when searched through google but the App has crashed!!

It could just be that your phone is having issues connecting to the Facebook server at the moment because of a communication error. You can try resending your service books to see if that might help, otherwise I'd try to wait another few hours. To resend your service books, go to Setup > Email Settings, press the BB Menu button and select Service Books. From here, you should be able to resend your service books.
If resending the service books doesn't help and if it still doesn't work in a few hours, come back and let us know as there are some more drastic steps we can try to get you back up and running.

Wow, I found a solution in another thread:
I had exact same error.....
Rebooting - Failed
Logging in to iTunes - Failed
Logging into itunes Store - Failed
Logging into iTunes Genius - SUCCESS I woulnd't have thought it would make a difference but it does Then just log into the 'other' services with iTunes.

Getting network error in facebook app in my ipad mini

I'm using ipad min wi-fi. Facebook app is showing network error and while trying to open through Safari it is showing "WARNIGN!! your flash player is out of date. please update to continue" I have uninstalled and installed again. But it is not working as desired. I have changed my home wifi password also.
It is working in my office well.
please help to fix it.

Were you able to fix your problem? I have a similar problem, After I upgraded the Ipad's operating system to 6.0.1, I have been unable to read any news feeds on facebook. It just times out with the message "Network Error". This also seems to be causing problems running the Synga poker app.
I also have uninstalled the Facebook app and reinstalled it. I have reset the Ipad. Any other suggestions?

Facebook Error - Help Needed

From the facebook app, version 2.1.0.36, when I access events to see events/birthday I get an error "an error has occured".
I have deleted an reinstalled no change, there is no issue with web version of facebook. I also done a full wipe of my PB, the previous version does not have this issue, once I update to 2.1.0.36 the error no longer shows up at the first attempt to view after leaving the events area and go back error is back.
Anyone know what is going on?

Its High Time Since Im Trying With This Issue, And None Of The Forum's Solution Has Worked Out For Me.
Whenever I Try To Login Facebook Through Facebook App For Blackberry, I Get A Message Stating " We Were Unable To Log You In. (2406).

I am having the exact same issue! I have placed numerous calls to Verizon for help (TechSupport) and also in store tech help. My phone is working, I am able to pullother apps. For some reason, I am unable to log in to FB on my Blackberry application. I get an unable to log in service code 2406. This then generates a text message with the code 32665 and a whole bunch of Chinese letters. I have no idea what is going on or why. I am able, however, to log into facebook on my phone if I go through the internet browser and log in this way.--
Very confused---Before, I was just able to hit the FB application button and it automatically signed me in--I had to noever enter email or passwords. So, I am FRUSTRATED!! mMy phone has been security wiped 4x, and facebook reinstalled--problem still happens111 HELP--Blackberry/FB--any fixes I am not aware of??

Facebook app not working and my blackberry world has completely disappeared, help please!

Hi guys, I'm in a real stooper, my facebook app. Was due an upgrade but soon after the upgrade it stopped working and everytime I click on to the icon it crashes the phone so I have to switch it on and off again to get it working, it then displays an error message. I've also noticed that my blackberry app. World icon has totally disappeared.
I really hope someone can give me some advice as I don't really know where to go from here and who to contact, please help!!

My Facebook app wont let me log on! Error code (0) what does it mean?

A few days ago I tried to go on chat and it said something like unable to connect to facebook chat, (6204 or something like that) I tried so many times it just won't go on. I thought it was the app needs update, so I updated it. But it stopped downloading the next day. I had to reinstall because my device memory is low. When I finally got the update, I couldn't log on. It says we are unable to connect to the facebook server, please try again later (0) the error code was zero. What do those two error codes mean? Please help! I tried rebooting and reinstalling but it won't work!

Well I'm having the same issue after updating my facebook app on Monday, April 16. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app bu tnothing seems to help. Can anyone help us?
