  • HT4489 I have my contacts in my Yahoo. Which I could pull into Iphone contact list. So when I go to iphone and see Contacts. I see all the details I want to see.

So I see on IPHONE-Contacts all the contact details that  I want to see.
I did the backup and it did not bring to my contacts for my mail in @icloud.com.
THen I did a VCARD format in Yahoo export. THen tried to import that file into ICLOUD. COM and got weird error and will not allow. SO thought may be too many contact. SO just tried to do one contact and get the same error.
So what are the steps on need to take to get say a YAHOO contact list into ICLOUD. COM contact (Using Windows platform).
    Thank you for the help

Go to Settings>iCloud, turn Contacts to Off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (any iCloud contacts will still be in iCloud).
Download the app My Contacts Backup.  (If you have more than 500 contacts to transfer you will need the “Pro” version.)  Use the app to backup the remaining contacts on your phone from Yahoo as a vCard attachment to an email that you send to yourself.  Confirm that you have received the email.
Go to Settings>iCloud and turn Contacts back to On.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), and set this to iCloud.
Go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tap your Yahoo account and turn off contacts syncing withYahoo.
Open the My Contacts Backup email and tap the attachment to import the Yahoo contacts back to your phone, and to iCloud.  Your Yahoo contacts should now be in iCloud, along with any other iCloud contacts you may have had.

  • How to enter a birthday versus a birth date into iPhone contacts

    Hi,
I sync my contacts with Yahoo!. For many people in my contancts I know their birthday (for example, December 5th), but not their full birth date (for exmaple, December 5, 1975). The iPhone doesn't seem to have an option that lets me put the year in as unknown. I don't want to put in the incorrect year or a dummy value like 1900.
Is there a way around this? Is there a way to get this added to the iPhone feature list? It seems like this is a common situation and one that many calendar and contact programs support.
    Thanks,
    Don

  • How do I remove all of the contacts that Facebook put into my Contacts? iPhone 5

I have a million contacts now, including duplicates of people who were already there. It's a giant mess. I went to Settings > Facebook > (Toggle "Contacts" to Off) and then did Update All Contacts, but they're still there. In addition to not being able to mass delete contacts, this is giving me a major headache. Did anybody solve a similar problem?

you can only do all with itunes.
On the phone itself you can only delete one at a time.
Go to the contact, choose edit, scroll down, at the bottom is a delete option.

  • What's the best way to use QR codes to get v-card information into iphone contacts?

I want to put contact/v-card information onto a business card with a QR code. I'm finding that the iphone won't accept v-cards natively, that I have to set up the QR code to go to a URL, which tells the scanner that if they enter their email address, it will email them my v-card. This defeats the purpose of putting a qr code on a business card - to scan it directly into contacts.  What is the workaround?

I'll try to help a bit.
ITunes match space is different to icloud space. With iTunes match you get storage for 25,000 non iTunes purchased tracks and other than a limit for individual file size, there is no memory limit.
You can turn match on individuallyon each device (I have it turned off on my iPod but turned on on my iPad and iPhone). When you turn it on then you get access to all the tracks, and in my experience any playlists I create have transferred over very well. I understand that some people have had trouble with playlists though.
I'm not quite clear with exactly what you mean regarding cleaning up your library, but be careful about using Match for this. There is no guarantee that matched songs will be exactly the same version as your own copy, due to some mismatches, so you could find some problems there. Personall, I am cleaning up my library before matching, but I am rather particular about keeping my library the way I want it. If you aren't as fussed then match could be the answer.
    Hope that helped.

  • How to sync Facebook friends to iPhone contacts

Can't seem to figure out how to sync my Facebook friends to my iphone 4s contacts.

    Settings > FaceBook > Contacts > On.

  • I don't want my Facebook Contacts added to my iphone Contacts as a result of this new update.  Is there a way to prevent that from happening?

I've been told that when I apply the latest update issued by APPLE, it will add all my Facebook Friends into my Contacts on my iPhone.  Is there a way to prevent that from happening?

Unfortunately when upgrading to iOS 6 the setting to add Facebook Contacts to your Contacts app is on by default. But once the upgrade is complete you can go to:
Settings > Facebook > and turn off Contacts.
That will get rid of the Facebook stuff showing up in your Contacts app.
BTW, I also turned off Calendar on my iPhone and iPad so that Facebook events and Friend's birthdays etc. will not show in my Calendar app.

  • I updated my phone and when i downloaded the facebook app again it synced all my facebook friends to my contacts. How do i get rid of that?

I updated my phone today. I had to redownload all my apps and when I downloaded facebook again it synced all my facebook friends into my contacts. I now have over 700 contacts, how do i get facebook to not be synced with my contacts?

they are deleted permanently off your phone
but they will forever be tied to your appleID so you can redownload them for free there is no way around that but they are not taking up storage or anything when they live in purchase

  • Force iPhone to put newly added contacts under iPhone contact group

I want to be able to have my iphone put a newly added contact under my iphone contacts and not all contacts. Is there a way to force iphone to do this? I am using mobile me, think I remember hearing someone mention a setting in itunes for this. Don't have this option with mobile me.
    Thanks,
    Toby

I agree with Oregon Farmer. All Contacts contain all contacts from every created group (i.e. "iPhone contacts"), so once you add a contact into "iPhone Contacts", the same info is placed in the "All Contacts" group. Sort of like "Music" in library and playlists.
There used to be an option on the iTunes, but from this website, it suggests that option was for the original iPhone http://www.apple.com/mobileme/setup/iphone/mac.html
I was browsing around looking for a way to add a new contact (i.e. from my recent calls list) directly into the "iPhone Contacts", rather than it going automatically only into the "All Contacts" list. If anyone has an idea, I'd appreciate it. I'm also using Mobileme.

  • Proceedure to get the Birthdays and Anniversaries entered into the Contacts

I am using blackberry Z10, OS version 10.3.12243. Please inform the proceedure to get the Birthdays and Anniversaries entered into the Contacts, automatically updated in the Calander.
This updation is now limited to my facebook friends.
Subject Title edited to reflect new topic.

@purnrndu You probably should have started your own thread.
Are you saying you have birthdays entered for contacts and those do not appear in Calendar? If that is the problem, I'm not seeing this problem.
There are numerous issues with the 10.3.1 on the different BB10 models. It is hard to know if this is one of them or not. Are you not having the other issues that users are finding?
As far as a resolution, you might do a backup, then a security wipe, then restore. See if that fixes it.
Another alternative is to do a clean OS install using an autoloader. This is being recommended by other users to resolve the problems users are finding with the upgrade when done OTA or via Link. If you choose this route, don't forget to do a backup first.

  • Facebook contacts won't sync into phone contacts iOS 6

So I had all my Facebook contacts linked nicely with my phone. And yes I liked having everyone's information in my phone. But suddenly all my facebook contacts have disappeared from my contacts. I've tried togglying sync with contacts button and signing out and back in to Facebook, about 25 or so random facebook contacts have synced with the contacts but I want all 400+ names in there. How can I get all my Facebook contacts to sync into my phone contacts?

I feel shy I'm so sorry... I'm using Windows. Any chance to get contacts without completely switching to Mac? Maybe a kind of application, which will do all the magic and take all of my contacts into one place? With photos, Facebook profiles, Skype links, etc.
And yes, I would be happy if the place will be iCloud.
I tried one 3rd party application. It has the interface, which is quite similar to the native iPhone Contacts app. It does the magic and collects all my contacts from all sources. But it stores it inside. I want my contacts to be accessible by the native iPhone app.

  • How do i import and sync my icloud / iphone contacts into address book on my macbook pro, how do i import and sync my icloud / iphone contacts into address book on my macbook pro

    HELP
how do i import and sync my icloud / iphone contacts into address book on my macbook pro, how do i import and sync my icloud / iphone contacts into address book on my macbook pro
Runnig 10.6.8 on a MacBook PRO.....

The easiest fix if you're running Snow Leopard is to export all your contacts, then import them into something like google (I already had a gmail account), and then just use google to sync your contacts instead of icloud (via the sync with Google button in the address book settings).
Its a bit sluggish to update, but it works well.  You can then point your iphone, and other iOS devices to use google for contacts too.
If Apple don't want to look after their customers, other companies will gladly do so....

  • Log into my facebook through my iphone i get this ALERT: this build is only enable for employees

I use my facebook on my iphone all the time but just a few hours ago i went to log and and it came up with ALERT: this build is only enabled for emplyees
I have tried to the whole deleting it then reinstall it, and even turning off the phone but noting is working
does anyone have any idea whats is going on ? and how do i get rid of this ?

Sounds like more of a question for Facebook as they made the app.  I do know the latest update they released they messed with it to allow them to make changes to the interface by just making changes on their end and thus not having to update the app.  They may of just tried to make some changes and fubar'ed themselves a bit.  Try again later to see if it fixes itself, or contact Facebook.
