Facebook chat safari 5

I cannot access facebook video chat using safari 5.0.6.  It says it will be available soon.

Is there any solution to using Facebook Video Chat on Safari 5.0.6 (which is the latest update for Safari under OSX 10.5.X) as of yet? Theres a segment of Safari users (not "that" far back in revs) being left out in the cold.

  • Safari and Facebook chat history logs?

    Hi guys!
I thought it was quite impossible to retrieve a facebook chat history, when I found this program.
    http://www.jadsoftware.com/home/ief.htm
Unluckily it works only on Windows.. it says:
If this item is checked, IEF will search for messages sent and received using the Facebook® live chat feature. Facebook® Live Chat can be found in live memory, pagefile.sys/hiberfil.sys files, and on the hard drive in allocated and unallocated space.
mmmhh.. Where I can find these files on my Mac?
    Thank you v much.

    same for me but sometimes!

  • Lumia 928 Won't connect to facebook chat

For a couple weeks, my Lumia 928 will not connect to Facebook chat regardless of being connected to data or WiFi. Any troubleshooting tips?

    HI,
Do you have the Develop menu activated in your Safari menu bar? If so, click Develop / User Agent - Safari 5.0.2 Mac or whichever version of Safari you have installed.

  • Issues with Facebook; Chat window problems; can't minimize window , and send chat as message when one receiver logs off.

While using Firefox I have an 2 issues with Facebook chat. 1. Cannot minimize (-) the chat window, only close it (x). When the receiver in chat logs off and a message didn't go through- the option to "send message as email" doesn't work. These have been ongoing problems for several months. I don't have these issues when I use Safari.

  • Facebook chat page clears after each response

Recently when trying to use the Chat feature of Facebook running under Safari, I've been having the chat dialog portion of the page clear every time someone sends a response. The only way I can see the response is to do a refresh of the page, and sometimes the it takes 3 or 4 tries to refresh without it getting stuck halfway through or popping up a chat error message. This started happening about 2-3 weeks ago. I'm using the link http://www.facebook.com/presence/popout.php to access the chat function. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm wondering if it is related to the loss of the zoom functionality on Facebook pages that recently came up?

You probably have to take that up with Facebook (good luck). Facebook chat on the iPad has been problematic from day one. I turned it off, it's so annoying. There has been a list of problems, yours is just the latest in the line of issues.
I can't be sure if it's FB or the iPad that's causing it. I wish FB would just come out with a FB app for the iPad.
BTW, there are several nice FB apps that might improve your experience.

Try switching it back from landscape to vertical. Or, go to settings and see if you have any special setting turned on that enable only landscape view. Also, try hooking it up to your computer and charging it to see what happens.

  • Hi Team, Facebook Chat is not availble

    Hi Team,
Facebook Chat is not available in Firefox Beta version however it is working fine in Internet explorer. I request u to please look into the issue and let us know whether this is related to Facebook or Mozilla, the chat option is working fine on Internet explorer.Since Mozilla is much better than IE , I request you to look into this so that I can continue using Mozilla. Here is the list of questions I found related to Facebook https://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=6494671374&topic=11594
    Thanks Mohsin.

You should try clearing the cache-
Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    Also try removing unwanted cookies-
Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Did you try running it on [[Safe mode]] to see which plugin/addon etc might be causing that?
Here is another thread with the same question with a little more detailed explanation-

  • Using Firefox to access facebook chat Button or online friiend chat button generates a Black screen with CANNOT LOAD IMAGES and no chat window opens.

This does not happen in other browsers and it happens on a variety of computers I have access to and would seem to be a common problem but I can find no identical cases in my searches of
Firefox , Facebook or windows help or Google search. My home machine is only a P2 with WINXPCORP but works fine and I have done all updates but still have this continuing problem every time I try to use Firefox
to access Facebook chat but it does not happen with IE or chrome
The response to clicking on chat button or friend chat is a black screen with small center square box with blue title bar that says
    '' VIEW IMAGE FULL SCREEN - (42) FACEBOOK X""
center of box is ""! "" mark in yellow triangle and wording
"" CANNOT LOAD IMAGES ''' OK
clicking on OK returns to facebook page but no chat opens.
Some times |VERY RARLEY if as the page loades you click on
chat button with 1/2 second of it appearing chat will open.

  • Gmail drop-down menus (Move to, Labels) and emails and Facebook chat will not open.

I am unable to open emails in standard Gmail. Emails can be opened after switching to the basic html version. I am also unable to use the drop-down menus, such as "Move to" or "Labels." The button turns gray, but the options do not appear.
Facebook chat is giving me a similar problem. When I click "Chat" in the bottom left, it acts as though it's trying to load but does not open up to reveal friends.
I have tried the following: deleting cookies, reinstalling Java, updating my vid card drivers, and uninstalling/reinstalling Firefox
Scans for viruses and spyware have yielded no results. I use AVG, Spybot, and Malwarebytes. The Gmail emails and menus will open in IE8.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    See:
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]

  • Facebook chat not available -- Yahoo redirect to password sign-in page

Facebook chat is "unavailable" -- getting a triangle with an exclamation point. In my Yahoo e-mail account I can do nothing but view my e-mails. Any attempt to open an attachment (a pic sent from my phone), clicking on "mail options," sending a help request e-mail to Yahoo, writing an e-mail -- basically anything I do -- sends me to the password sign-in page. Could not log into another e-mail account at Road Runner. Page just flipped crazily back & forth between loading & "read message." However, none of this happens if I use Internet Explorer; everything works fine there. Problem started two days ago. I do not believe I did anything, downloaded anything, nor changed anything right before this happened. Been told by internet carrier to un-install Firefox and re-install. Not opposed to doing this, but will that solve the problem? I sure don't want it to happen again. I have a main password for Firefox and a few other passwords saved. Laptop, running Windows Vista. Anti-virus program is AVG (full paid version). Have disabled some AVG items (tool bar, link-something-or-other) per help suggestions on Firefox site, and this has worked fine for nearly 2 months.

  • Can no longer access Facebook via Safari on iPhone

Ever since I loaded IOS 6 onto my iPhone 4, I cannot get to Facebook via Safari...it automatically reverts to the fb app. Even if I put www.facebook.com into the browser. I still access fb via Safari on my ipad (new ipad). This is important as I have low vision and the font is too small on the app.

I have the problem after upgrading my iPad to iOS 6.
It started with the app store, then facebook app and finally can't access to any apple.com page.
Already restore the iPad and now I can access to app store. Still working to get back my access to facebook.
If anyone has an idea about this?

  • Screen is 'splitting' and computer is freezing in facebook chat and Skype - any ideas?

Hello - having issues with computer freezing during facebook chat and skype - also desktop 'splits' in half - like the 'apple' that should normally be in the top left corner is 2/3rds the way to the right and the time, date etc is in the middle of the screen.
Cannot force quit or get out of the programs once it freezes.
    Anyone seen this?
    Thanks.

If you've applied the latest updates for your system and it's still doing it and you've maybe already gone the extra mile and reloaded the OS, then it's a hardware issue and will probably require a physical fix.
I would suggest backing up your personal data and then do an OS reload and without putting anything back on it, try it then.  If it still happens, then it's hardware.

  • Unable to view google and facebook in safari

Unable to view google and facebook in safari on ios 7.0.3 on my ipad mini. The page is trying to reload repeatedly and chrome browser is written on the tab where google/Facebook should be.

I am not sure of the reasons but that is the normal
appearance in Safari, at least it is what I have seen. I think the
issue is how Safari handles things rather than what RoboHelp
    produces.
In looking at other help products before going for RoboHelp,
did you download some trial versions of other products and have you
    checked their output in Safari?
Maybe someone with more knowledge of Safari can comment?
For what it may be worth, only 1.3% of the visitors to my
site use Safari so that wouldn't upset me too much. Of course the
percentage may be different and more important for you. I suspect
Safari users are used to such things.
Right or wrong, IE and Firefox are the biggies.
