Some FAQs on the new Facebook Connect option.
What is Facebook Connect?
Facebook Connect is an application which allows the authentication connection between Facebook and the community to work in both directions. Community members can connect their community accounts to their Facebook accounts and Facebook users can register in the community from Facebook.
In both cases, this means users can sign in to both applications by logging in to either. So if you log into the community and then bring up a tab for Facebook you will automatically be logged in. Similarly, if you log out of one, it automatically logs you out of the other.
What should I do if I don’t want to connect my Facebook account to my community account?
You don’t need to do anything. This is an optional choice and no connection will be made unless you click on the link to connect the two. You just continue logging into the community as normal.
What should I do if I connected my Facebook account but have changed my mind? I no longer want the two to be connected.
You can easily disconnect this through your community settings. This can be done at any time.
Click on the link for ‘My Settings’ at the top right of you screen:
Click on the tab called Social Connect. If your account is connected you will see this screen:
To disconnect, click on the blue link which says ‘Disconnect from your Facebook account’
You will then see this confirmation message which means the two are no longer linked.
You will now need to sign in to the community and Facebook separately.

That line of code does nothing in an HTML snippet.
I also tried it with another iframe from another piece of code and it didn't do anything but re-size the box.

Action:
Bridge / Export to Facebook
From export panel select Facebook module.
Select add present
Select "Sign Into Facebook
Error:"An error occurred when request Facebook Connection"
I read in another forum that others were having this problem too but no solution and that post was from a year ago. I am hoping that this has be solved and one of you good folks knows how.

If available, use a Firewire cable and put the origin in Target Disk Mode. That's how I rescued all my stuff, all 150GB of it, from my now dead Early '08 MBP to my current one.
With the new crop, I believe you can use the Thunderbolt ports as well.

Dual External Independent Monitor Connection Options

Folks -
I am trying to understand my connection options that will allow me to achieve two independent monitors. My hardware is a TP T410 (2518-4JU) (Nvidia NVS 3100M) and a docking station Type 4338 (PN 45N5888 FPU PN 45M2490). The docking station offers VGA DB-15 connector, 2 each DVI connectors and 2 each Display Port (DP) connectors.
I think I understand that I can use.....
VGA port and any ONE of the available digital ports
or
both DVI ports
or
both DP ports
or
one DVI and one DP connector
Does that seem correct?
My monitors will accept VGA or DVI connectors and they run at 1920 x 1080.
I also want to mirror one of the monitors onto a HDTV via the HDMI port on the HDTV (don't want to use the computer connection port on the TV). I plan to split one of the digital outputs and then adapt up to HDMI cable for the run to the HDTV.
Will I encounter problems with the HDTV HDCP protocol since the signal is getting split?

When did you buy the T410? also did it came with optimus technology?
if it is the standard nvidia gpu version, then the display output options you mentioned is correct. If your T410 came with nvidia optimus, then it will support 4 external LCD.
Not sure how HDCP protocol will be affected when the signal gets split.

Direct BW Query Connectivity Option in Xcelsius

Hi Experts,
I have just attended Tech Ed-2009 , and found that Xcelsius offer the direct connectivity to Bex Query.
Which Xcelsius version offer this functionility ?
I have Xcesius Enterprise - 2008 at Sp-2 level , however i don't see any direct connectivity option there.
I have seen the interface in tech Ed and there is option of "SAP" on the top left where the file and edit and view appers.
Please help me in finding that version ?
Also is that version is available for trail download ?

Sybase connection tab not showing in New connection option in SQL developer

I do not see a Sybase connection tab in New connection option in SQL developer 2.1 where as it was available in ver 1.5
Why is that? how to fix it?

Have you installed the JTDS JDBC driver yet into SQL Developer.
This is required before you get the connection tab for SQL Server and Sybase.
You can install the JTDS driver from the Check For Updates action.

And yet the link you posted only tells you how to do it on the Facebook App for Android. Nothing about the Facebook page is mentioned at all, or how to do it on an iPhone.
With that said, and assuming you have the most up to date version of the Facebook App, you can now turn the auto play feature Off within the Facebook App itself. Tap on the "More" icon on the bottom right, then scroll down to Settings->Videos and Photos->Auto Play. If Smart auto-Play is on turn it off. Then you can set the check mark on "Never Play Videos Automatically" which is the same as Off.

IChat Facebook integration through AIM Facebook Connect

This morning it was announced that Facebook and AIM had teamed up through Facebook connect to allow AIM to integrate Facebook chat into their service. I download AIM for Mac and got the two connected and all looked great. It got me thinking... could I simply login to iChat and have it show my Facebook buddies now? I opened iChat and it DID show the Facebook friends group, but none of the buddies were visible. I even changed the server settings to reflect what was in the new AIM program, but still nothing. I feel like we're really close to getting this going for iChat. Any thoughts? Has anyone else managed to get it to work? Is it even possible? Thanks..

I figured out my problem. It had nothing to do with facebook. To check yours, make another account and try the iChat there. For me, it wouldn't work on my normal account, but as another user, it worked fine. If this is the case with you, you'll need to go to user/library/preferences and delete all four ichat plists. I also reinstalled iChat from the Snow Leopard system disk, but I don't think it was necessary. This completely reset my iChat settings, so make sure you know all of your account names, passwords, and settings.
Hopefully this will work for everybody else.

Using Flash with Facebook Connect

I was wondering if anyone has any information or resources on using Flash AS3 with facebook connect. What I'm particularly looking for is how to do facebook authentication within the flash interface (so the user doesn't need to exit to the facebook website to connect) and also if there are any ways to make facebook calls from within flash once you have authenticated (rather than loading xml generated in PHP as I am currently doing).
Any information or resources would be appreciated.

The dial in process would be exactly the same as if you were dialing into the bridge as a participant. Most of the time it needs the following steps.
Phone number:           800-555-5555
Delay:                        3000 ms
DTMF: (passcode)     123456#
Delay:                        3000ms
DTMF:                      1 or # (for a roll call or to join the bridge)
However if the provider is not using a SIP compliant bridge, the Universal Voice tool will fail upon attempting to dial out.
Also, for the hosted environment, the phone bridge must have a toll-free number.

Flash movie stealing keyboard input Facebook Connect app

I have a Flash application that integrated Facebook friend connect. When the user initiates Facebook Friend Connect it pops up a new window that prompts the user to log into facebook.
On internet explorer when I type in my username and password I intermittently lose key strokes. If I remove the flash page from the HTML content and do the same facebook connect on IE I don't lose the keystrokes.
On Firefox this works completely fine.
Is there something in flash that could be causing this behavior of intermittent keyboard focus stealing on IE?

i would first try a different external keyboard if you have one. try other usb ports on the mbp as well. if another keyboard doesnt give you grief then you would want to go to a retail store and have them swap it out or call apple support for a replacement.

8130 Bluetooth Connect Option Missing for Some Devices

I cannot connect to some bluetooth devices on my Blackberry 8130. Most devices I pair with have a connect option in the bluetooth menu but some don't, even though they have been successfully paired. I have a specific device, a Holux H-1200 GPS that I used OK in the past with my 8130 but now refuses to connect and I cannot manually conect since there is no Connect Option for this particular device in the list of paired devices. I have deleted and rediscovered the device multipe times. When I pair successfully the properties show the Services SPP slave listed. I have tried to enable and disable Trused and Encryption but nothing helps. The Connect Option is present for all paired devices except 2 or 3 on my BB. My bluetooth options are set at Discoverable yes, allow outgoing calls yes, address book transfer all entries, security level high, and all services are check marked. I am with Verizon and my phone software level is 4.5.0.56.

In my own personal experience I have found that sometimes elements of the page (such as the Get Sample or Buy buttons) don't load in or load in incorrectly. Most of the time I've found that simply going to another page then back to the previous page fixes the issue or, like you have done, browsing from another devices shows the page just fine.

'mass storage' connection option showing error mes...

Up until a yesterday , my phone was working fine . Then , yesterday , when I tried to connect it to my PC via the nokia-provided USB cable , things went kaput.
The phone began by working normally, asking me to select a connectivity option, while my computer gave me the message that it had detected a new MTP device , and then asked me to insert the disc that might have come with this device. I cancelled this , as always, and selected the 'mass storage' option on my phone. At this point , the phone gave me this error message :-
"Memory card in use by another application. Please wait."
and the computer , instead of treating the phone like an external storage device , began going through the same sequence of " found MTP device . Please insert disc " over and over . This is happening even after I reset my phone to factory settings. What do I do now ?
Can anyone please help ?

Are you sure you selected Mass Storage mode on your phone in the connection prompt, and not Nokia Suite / Ovi Suite / PC Suite? If you have restored your phone to factory settings and are stil having problems, then you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect.

One of my clients has an environment similar to yours with an internal pair of F5s and a pair used for the access from the internet.
I am only going to focus on the method using an F5 Load Balancer and SSL Offloading. the setup of the F5 will not be covered in detail but a reference to the documentation to support SharePoint and SSL Offloading will be provided
Since you arte going to be using SSL Offloading you do not need to extend your WebApps to use separate IIS WebSites with Unique IP Addresses
Configure the F5 with SSL Offloading
Configure a Internal AAM for SSL (HTTPS) for each WebApp that maps to the Public HTTP FQDN AAM Setting for each WebApp
Our environment has an additional component we require RSA Authentication for all internet facing Sites. So we have the extra step of extending the WebApp to a separate IIS WebSite and configuring RSA for each extended WebSite.Reference:

Bridge and Facebook connection error

I am trying to use the export feature of Bridge C.04.05.11 to download photos to Facebook. I continually get the error "Facebook connection error - An active access token must be used to query info about current user". Has anyone else seen this error?

Hi Bob,
Are you using Bridge CS5 4.0.5.11? Did you see the error when uploading via an old Facebook preset? If yes, you might need to create a new preset (login use your account again.) and delete the old one.
By the way, we published a new Facebook service update for Bridge CS5. When you attempt to use Facebook service, the update will be automatically executed.
