Facebook contact pictures

Hi all,
I upgraded from a Z1 now and loving this Z3. I've noticed however that the Xperia with Facebook app isn't syncing the high resolution pictures of my contacts. I'm wondering if this feature is missing or removed. Has anyone else noticed this?

Facebook contact pictures show up in my iPhone 4s

I am trying to have my Facebook contact pictures show up in my iPhone 4s. I have the FB app installed AND already followed these steps in the FB app:
1. Friends
2. Sync Contacts
3. Synching (turned on)
4. Replace photos (turned on)
Now, it did work for a very select few contacts, like 6... For examples:
For my contact "Allison" it added her current FB profile pic & put a bunch of gibberish under notes (<sn>id:122360 etc...)
For my friend "Pat (Last name)" it added his current FB profile pic but did NOT put a bunch of gibberish under notes.
For another contact it did not add the picture but still put the gibberish in notes.
It doesn't seem to make a difference if I have someone by just their first name, a nickname or their full name. Some work, some don't. & that's where I'm at. If there is some ez way to go individually into a contact & sync it to a FB profile, (like android) that would be ideal because it's not working this way. I have read a lot of other's threads but no one seems to have any answers more than the steps I already did. If anyone has any solutions it would be MUCH appreciated.

Do you mean it won't show up as the little icon in Music, for example?
For some reason, Apple decided to remove that icon even though there is plenty of space available for it. You must now use Control Center to access this functionality, if I am understanding your problem. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and look for the AirPlay icon.
This is a senseless regression on the part of Apple, one of many arbitrary changes that users have to figure out. This goes against Apple's previous culture, that made iOS something even a toddler can figure out. Now we need a modicum of expertise to use this OS. That's bad....

Where did you get the device? Is it possible that it has an IT policy on the device blocking Facebook and/or Facebook options? Look in Options >Security Options >General Settings (actual menu paths vary with OS version) and see if there is any reference to IT policy.

Facebook Contact Pictures Wont Stay

So some of my contact list are connected to face book and some time the photos will stay and most of the time they don't even after I refresh them with facebook.
Don't forget to check your cinch!

Facebook profile pictures not showing up in my Contacts

For some reason only two or three of my contacts show their facebook profile pictures, even though probably 75% of my contacts have facebook photos... why would the pics only show for a few contacts? And how do I fix it? I've checked FB settings and phone settings, but I must be missing something!

You can easily delete your Facebook account from the #Z10, reboot and set it up yet again and allow those pictures to sync.

Unlink Facebook 'home page' & contact pictures

I have Facebook contact sync off, but it has been synced before (so the pictures in their contact cards are their FB profile pictures). Is there a way to remove these photos and the 'home page'/facebook link, other than manually?
For example in each contact that was previously linked to a FB account, in their contact card there is a 'home page' field (fb://profile/00000) and a 'Facebook' field with their name. I want all of this crap gone!!

I agree is is not a third party issue. My phone has been crazy since the update (but wasn't great before). This is my second phone because of problems I have had with it. It does crazy things like when I unlock the screen the time is ALWAYS exactly an hour prior to the actual time (and the time zone is correct). Also, when I go to send a text message, the message appear correctly but if I click on them quickly when I start typing I am actually sending the message to the person that was in that message slot 24 hours before. My text messages no longer show my contact photos even though I don't have "phone only" checked. I have tried both with and without being synched to FB but still no success. And another weird thing, since the update I have discovered I am able to take a screen shot and that is without an app because I've never downloaded one or even tried that...it was an accident the first time and I did it again and again and it works. Craziest phone I've ever seen. I do want a solution to my photos being in my text message contacts. Their names are there with their numbers, just no photos, no matter if it is a saved photo from the phone or a FB linked contact

Facebook n contact pictures

I dont understand this facebook sync with my contact pictures. I have two accounts so how does it kno what friends on my contact list if they are on the diff facebooks?
Can anyone explain how it tells the people apart on my contact list? I have diff profile pictures for the two diff facebooks so how does it kno which picture will show up on there end of the phone?

Does Facebook integration in iOS6 replace my contact pictures? Cause i don't want that!

That's pretty much it. I'd like to connect to Facebook, but I wanna keep the pictures I have for people, not their Facebook profil pictures.

It does not, it creates another contact entry with the FB data. You can then switch viewing that off or on under contacts/groups.
However, updated photos do not sync to icloud - at least not for me - so even they can be used to replace the photo in contacts on the phone they do not show up in icloud. Although I'd like to have that feature.

Updating Facebook Contact Profile Pictures

Is there anyway to update the facebook contact profile pictures? Is there a button where i can press sync and it syncs them?

At this time the only option to do this is with a third party application. The name of the application is SyncMyPix. Keep in mind all applications are from third party developers and are download at your own risk.

Contact Picture Bugs

I have 2 complaints about contact pictures. One is fixable in WebOS directly, the other may be Google's fault. My first problem occurred when I took a picture of my coworker with my Pre and used it as the contact picture. It synched with Google and worked fine, until I wanted to change his pic to another. I changed the photo using Google's contact editing page, and his photo is now correct in the contacts app on my Pre, but when he calls me, the old pic is what shows instead of the new one I set. I have deleted the pic from my Pre, and I cannot find anywhere that the image is assigned to his contact info, I only have his contact info coming from Google, nothing from Facebook or Exchange, or my Palm Profile.
The other problem is with Google's contact picture sync. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that images added to contacts from the Pre show up with lots of artifacts in Google's contacts page, the only way to avoid it is to add the picture from Google directly, not on the Pre. They are minor problems, but they make a difference to me. Thanks to anyone who can help me fix this, or to Palm when they make the changes.

It seems that with each upgrade the feature that allow you to assign a photo to a contact keeps changing the way it works. When I select a photo and used the cropping tools, the results are not even close to what you selected on screen with the crop and zoom functions.
How do we get this bug fixed!

Facebook Contacts Profile Pics not updating on Incredible

Just like the title says - after syncing everything with facebook to my current contacts (people) list, the current facebook display picture appears. However, if one of my contacts changes their facebook display picture - it won't change in the contacts (people) list to the new, current display pic. Even if you go into the online directories and update the facebook list you get the current display picture in that list but it doesn't transfer over to the linked phone contact display.
Any ideas what I am doing wrong or how to correct this?????

I am experiencing the same thing, and it's bugging the heck out of me as well. I have tried everything and it just doesn't add up. I know that People is syncing with FB as I am seeing status updates, but I have at least 5 friends/contacts whose photos are not updated. WEIRD if you ask me.
I have sync'd, unsync'd, downloaded lastest FB widget, signed out of Facebook, signed out of FB for HTCSense, shut-off, turned on..... YOU NAME IT!
Will sit tight until someone has a fix.

Contact pictures not showing in text-messages section of HUB

I noticed a bug/mistake in the text-messages section in the hub.
When you are writing text message, contact pictures in the top left corner are showing only
for some contacts.
I don't know whats the reason for this.
Does anybody have this issue also - or does anybody know a solution?

Thanks for your feedback, do these contacts have pictures saved in the contacts profile? Or is the contacts picture linked from a social media account for example Twitter or Facebook?

Contact pictures after upgrade

Xperia with Facebook stopped syncing contacts from fb after the update, so I need to use the Facebook account to sync contacts.The contact pictures are in a very low resolution, they are useless. Removed the facebook account, deleted the facebook app data, still having the same issue. Also have this issue, with the google account pictures. Is there any solution to sync those pictures properly?

Hi zsolesz79, this cannot be changed as Google only allows this level of resolution. I advise downloading a third party Contacts app to sync them with.

Some contact picture are missing from verizon messaging

brand new s5 set up messaging for my husband. all contact pictures show up in verizon messaging but mine. there is a picture for me under contacts. no idea why this is happening. husband uses google for contacts and linked to facebook we use syne me to sync facebook pics to contacts but this was happening before installing. our daughters and friends show when he sends or receives message but not mine. how do i fix this

If you want to use your back up you need to restore then entire Library from Time Machine, and then replace the damaged Library with it.

Show contact picture in Mail

Upgraded my MBP (most recent release) to Lion... I noticed my brother's Mail app now shows the contact picture in the message list (along the left of the message)
My mail app is not doing the same and I've been hunting through help and settings menus... Any help to turn it on would be a huge help.
I use MobileMe to sync my accounts, also my contact images come from the iphone FaceBook app syncing.

Mail is tied to Contacts. Whatever picture you have under that contact in Contacts will be presented in Mail. Delete the photo in Contacts and it will not show up in Mail. A very BAD feature and far to Windows-like, that one application would have control of another without the ability to turn that off, but even Apple comes up with some doosies that make you scratch your head once in awhile. I hope they correct it.
