inhave iOS 8.1 and my Facebook app is up to date. When I go into settings and then Facebook and then hit update contacts my friends photos aren't syncing to my contacts. Also, what if someone on Facebook isn't using the same name as the one in my contact list? Is there a way to get all of my Facebook people to show up in my contact list so I can link them to the person I have stored in my iCloud contaste?

You've basically answered your own question, as follows:
You are not using iCloud, nor are you using iTunes on a computer. These are the two vehicles Apple primarily uses for sync.
Therefore, as you said, any sync that occurs would be in the hands of Yahoo, your email provider. So it's really a question for them. I would guess syncing is likely, but that's entirely up to Yahoo.

On your computer: iTunes>Store>Authorize this Computer, then connect your phone & without syncing, File>Transfer Purchases.

Facebook/Contact Syncing

I wanted to sync my Facebook friends to my contacts. I'm logged into Facebook under settings, and I let it access my contacts. I hit update contacts, but I only got 10 out of all my friends.
1. How can I sync the rest of my friends to my contacts?
Note- I read somewhere that Facebook won't add contacts unless the person has other contact info listed other than their Facebook emai. That article was from last year, so is that still true?
2. How do social profiles work? For the 10 friends that synced, if I hit their social profile, it takes me right to their Facebook page. I thought if I added the social profiles of friends who haven't automatically synced, it might do something. I've tried adding their Facebook name, Facebook email, link to their page, but all it does is launch my Facebook app. Unless they've automatically synced with Facebook through contacts, will it work?

I can see you concern with you Facebook issue. Here is the rundown. Facebook does ask if they can sync with your contacts upon install of the application, but if for some reason it does not or it was missed follow this pathway. Contacts (as if you were to view you contacts), Select the menu button, select accounts, select the Facebook account, uncheck the green checkmark labeled sync contacts. If that is unchecked it should not sync with Facebook.

I have had my iphone 4 for a week now, and have no problems with it. However today I went into my phone contacts and all my facebook friends are listed there too. I REALLY hate this, and want them gone and just all the phone contacts I initially set up to remain. How do I remove them?

I've just realised this may have something to do with accessing I tunes on the phone yesterday. I have the sync option in facebook turned off, its e-mail adresses that have come up in contacts. I need rid of them!

Facebook Contacts Sync

My BB 8530 took a dump and did a master reset. I can no longer sync my BB contacts with my Facebook. Doesn't even allow me to check the box for "Blackberry Contacts application". Box is greyed out. Can someone please tell me how I could fix this?

Are you on a BES? Those options are locked out by IT policy (by default) on BES devices running FB 1.6 or newer.

HT5500 I don't understand why my Facebook contacts are still in my iCloud contacts, even if it is enabled everywhere!

Yes. iCloud on the web is correct although the latest stuff I added to my MacBook is not showing up because it won't sync.
In System Preferences iCloud is selected and they are turned on on both machines as always.
There are no other calendars linked to iCal. I just have a Home, Work, and Birthday and US Holidays all linked in.
I did try something on my MacBook that seemed to work. I went into System Preferences and turned off Calendars and Reminders in the iCloud setting. That prompted a message that all of the iCloud iCal data would be removed from the computer. I made sure the web version was accurate before I did this. Then I shut down my computer and restarted. When I restarted I went back into System Preferences and turned on Calendars and Reminders and now it seems to be working.
I'm about to try the same thing on my iMac.
If this works both times, my question then would be what would cause both my iMac and MacBook to disconnect as it seems from iCloud when I hadn't changed anything at all.

Facebook/Contacts/Profile Pics

Recently all of my emails and contacts are showing their profile pictures, even if we're not friends on Facebook. This is really annoying, only because it's added images I don't need/want to see. Is there a way to prevent this from happening, and remove all of the current profile pics of those in my contact list? It's happening on all of my devices (macbook, ipad, iphone). Any help would be appreciated.

disable Facebook contact sync by navigating to Settings > Facebook and toggling the Contats switch from ON to OFF.
Also, if you are syncing your iPhone contacts via iCloud, make sure there are no profile pictures shown for your iCloud contacts - simply log in to your iCloud account from your computer and remove the pics. Same if you are syncing contacts over Gmail.

Facebook contacts won't sync into phone contacts iOS 6

So I had all my Facebook contacts linked nicely with my phone. And yes I liked having everyone's information in my phone. But suddenly all my facebook contacts have disappeared from my contacts. I've tried togglying sync with contacts button and signing out and back in to Facebook, about 25 or so random facebook contacts have synced with the contacts but I want all 400+ names in there. How can I get all my Facebook contacts to sync into my phone contacts?

I feel shy I'm so sorry... I'm using Windows. Any chance to get contacts without completely switching to Mac? Maybe a kind of application, which will do all the magic and take all of my contacts into one place? With photos, Facebook profiles, Skype links, etc.
And yes, I would be happy if the place will be iCloud.
I tried one 3rd party application. It has the interface, which is quite similar to the native iPhone Contacts app. It does the magic and collects all my contacts from all sources. But it stores it inside. I want my contacts to be accessible by the native iPhone app.

Facebook contacts will not sync into passport

I have tried everything I can think of and even though this has never happened on my other blackberries, I cannot get my passport to sync my facebook contacts... help!

I've just come off the phone to Apple Support who seem to be totally unaware of this change. Whilst I understand that this decision was Facebook's it seems rather strange that Apple were not informed, given that it fundamentally alters the ios experience. I think the best way forward with this is to contact Facebook direct. Does anybody know how best to do this?

Yes. Try this.
Open the Facebook app and go to your Friends section.
At the top right, tap the arrow button then select "sync contacts".
This will upload iphone contacts to facebook and download facebook contacts on to the iphone.

They are automatically put in a group called Facebook, and your other contacts in another group...if synced from a Mac, they will be labled From My Mac. In the contacts app you can chose what groups are visible: Contacts>Groups...add or remove the check by touching the group.
