Facebook for webOS - Changing your profile picture

Hello Facebook for webOS developers! Can you advise if the ability to change one's own profile picture will soon become available in upcoming updates to the Facebook app please? Also, the ability to send a direct message as well? I know this can be accomplished via the web version, however it would be much more convenient if it were integrated in the app version as well. Thank you and keep up the awesome work! CujoQ37

  • Change your avatar picture without facebook ( HOW TO)

Facebook is not the only option to change your avatar picture
    How?
    1. find out your user-id.. its is in bar were the webadress is when you logged in on spotify.com
it is a 6 sigure number in my case. Think it will always be numbers
    2.  copy this link and paste your user-id at the end of it
    https://community.spotify.com/t5/user/v2/avatarselectorpopuppage/user-id/  ---your user-id---
it will look something like this
    https://community.spotify.com/t5/user/v2/avatarselectorpopuppage/user-id/069483
    3. select the picture you want to upload and cut the picture if you want to
    4. Tadaaa without facebook you can set your profile picture
    MOD EDIT:
    Hey everyone
Just to clear up any confusion, this post was originally started with a handy way to upload your own picture to the Spotify Community, and use it as your avatar.
Currently, the only way to have your own image within the Spotify app is by connecting your account to Facebook.
If you'd like to see this feature in the future, make sure you add your Kudos and feedback here.
    Thanks a lot.

For some reason I don't feel like spotify has enough personality as a service. Yeah it has a **bleep** ton of music but not allowing me to create my own profile with background and custom profile image, so i made the switch to beats music. Yeah it doesn't have the music catalog that spotify has but it has personality. The playlists feel more personal and the sentence actually works really well I am still surprised by it. So sorry spotify it doesn't seem like you give a **bleep** about your subscribers. We have been asking you for this one thing for years and it's something that should have been put in day one but whatever partnership you have with **bleep**ty facebook seems more important so whatever. I will take my money somewhere else.

  • How can I change my profile picture

Dear All, The Modern Skype with touch-screen features looks completely different from the old Skype that we used with Win 7 and earlier versions. For example, in the old Skype, we could go to the Skype button and easily scroll to "Change your profile picture". In the new Skype, there is no functionality to do this. (That is, as far as I know). If you click on "My account", it takes you to the Skype website. In that, you can go to "My Profile", and then "Edit", but the edit does not have any button next to your picture to enable you to change it. In short, I don't know what to do. Please help. Thank you so much in advance for your attention. Dr. Taher

I hope everyone will forgive my ignorance, because it seems everyone but me can get this done.  Upon viewing the instructions, I do not appear to have the same structure to my home page as others do.  When I click on "my profile", I do see an "edit" button, but I can edit everything except my profile picture.  I'm on a PC using the latest version of windows.  Any help is most gratefully received.  You are not alone.  When I log on there is no picture in the top right corner.  There is one on the left margin so I clicked on the and it took me to the Personal Information page.  There is not any options to change the picture.  To make matters worse; Skype have not updated their knowledgebase help page and are still showing the old drop down menus (Which were much better than what we have now).  Why does a company like Skype roll out completely different user interfaces and leave their hlp pages with out of date information.  Infuriation to the maximum.

How do I change my profile picture on twitter for my nokia asha 303? The option is not availible.

    Hi Angel101,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions!
Regarding your concern, changing profile picture using your phone is not possible. However, you can always do this with the use of your computer.

How do i change the "profile" picture on m iPad when I'm using iMessenger for IOS5?

You do realize that only you see the photo associated with this correct - nobody else will see your photo - only you will.
You have to add the photo in the contacts app. Locate your vcard and tap Edit. Then tap the area where the photo will be located to add a photo. You can take a photo or choose one from your photos app.

  • I CAN'T CHANGE MY PROFILE PICTURE ON THE PLAYSTATION APP

I know! Its so frustrating. I just wanna put a picture of big boss smoking his infamous cigar but every time I try it just doesn't work. On my phone I go through the whole process of selecting the picture and clicking okay but nothing changes. And it doesn't even say "change profile picture" it says "add profile picture" and so I though maybe I have to go on my ps4 for the rest but I go to change my profile picture and it gives me the 3 options to load one from facebook, PlayStation app, or use the avatar and I figured maybe I added the picture and now I have to select it on the ps4 but il click X on the playstation app option and the little circle dot doesn't change to the playstation app. It just stays on the avatar option.

Do you by chance have Logitech QuickCam webcam connected to your computer?
You can also try to reset all Skype settings.
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old. Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.

  • How do I change my profile picture?

I'm a long term subscriber, The 4 songs out of the first 5 I saved to my spotify account became my profile picture. Two of the 4 pictures are the same band. I like these songs but dont feel they represent my true musical taste or favorites. How can I customize my profile picture?
Edit - My apologies, I think I posted this in the wrong forum, I'm using the downloadable Spotify app for PC. Mods please move if need be.

    Hi,
    Also, just to add:
There is an idea for being able to edit your profile picture without connecting to facebook here. It has been marked as Not right now as they have other priorities right now but that doesn't mean they won't come back to it in the future.
There is also an idea for customising playlist pictures and info here.
Feel free to add Kudos and comment on them to show your support!
    Anthony :)
    Edit #1: Spelling correction

  • How do you stop Activesync users changing their profile picture?

We are in the process of migrating from Exchange 2007 to 2013. In 2007 nobody had the ability to change their profile picture (seen in Outlook and in our online phonebook). However, it would appear that users already migrated to 2013 who have a iOS
device connected via ActiveSync can now use the OWA for iPhone mail client on their mobile to change their profile picture.
We do not want users to have this ability, we have already seen some inappropriate images appear and need to stop this. How can I restrict it?

    Thanks

    In your case, you may need to run a full anti-virus scan to remove any elements that the hacker may have used in accessing your account, and immediately change your password.  I'm not sure if Skype can provide you with the information you wanted, but you may also need to contact them as well as they may have additional instructions or advice;

  • How can I change my profile picture to a photo from iPhoto?

I want to change my profile picture on my Macbook Pro, but the only pictures that are letting me choose from, are the default pictures, I can't even see my photos from iPhoto as an option. Please help!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
In OS X Lion and Mountain Lion, the option to change the profile picture changed, making difficult the process to select a iPhoto library photo as the account picture.
First, open System Preferences > Users & Groups, and press the user picture. Then, open iPhoto and drag the photo you want to use as your account picture to the box with the user picture in System Preferences. Now, set up the photo as you want and accept it, so you will be using this photo as your account picture

  • I'd like to know how to change my profile picture that appears on mail threads on my mac.  please help.

I'd like to know how to change my profile picture that appears on mail threads on my mac.  please help.

There may be other methods, but below is how I change my email photo.
Here is how to change your Mac Mail email photo in Mountain Lion:
Open the App called "Contacts". Type your name in the search field. Your contact info and photo should appear. Click on your photo. You now have some photo options. I use the "Recents" tab, and simply drag photo files from Finder into that window in Contacts. Drag and drop.
If you have trouble finding yourself in "Contacts" you can also get there by doing this:
Open one of your sent messages. Double click your photo in that message. This opens another window with your photo in it. Double-click that photo. This should open your contact information in the Contacts App.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to change guest profile picture on Macbook Air?

There are two accounts on my MacBook air: My one, and a guest one. I understand that you can set a profile picture to come up on the log in screen for my account, and I would like to do the same for the guest account. How can I do this?
    Thanks

The guest user icon is a PNG file stored deep within OS X. I don't recommend you change operating system components that exist at that level though. Besides, the change is not likely to survive an OS X update.
If you really want to change it I'll post its location, but you'll be on your own if something breaks.
Edit: You'd be facing the same problem as in your other question: How to change folder symbol on desktop back to original? Modifying the Mac's basic user interface fundamentals can result in instability. If you want to perform that sort of customization anyway, always have a backup strategy in case something goes wrong. To learn how to back up and restore read Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac.

  • OT: Did you know you can change your profile to show your real name, rather than just your Adobe ID?

I realize this is off-topic for this particular forum, but I hope it may help some readers. Since this forum is "where I live" in the Adobe forums, I wanted top share it here first. Perhaps after some feedback to refine things, I may post it elsewhere (another forum perhaps, and/or my blog).
As I was answering a question from someone, finding myself again able only to refer to them by their brief Adobe ID (which often seems to have no connection at all to their name), I wondered:
Do people realize that they can change their forum identity so that their real name (or whatever other identifying info) shows up rather than just their brief Adobe ID? It's just that some folks would much prefer "talking" with someone by refer to them by their real name (or at least something more than just their Adobe ID).:-)
I suppose some may choose intentionally to remain “relatively anonymous” with just that ID to identify them, but I think many more simply don't know that they *can* change what's shown. You can. But it seems we can't do it inside the forums software itself.
Instead, we just need to modify our "Adobe account" to associate a name with our ID (which of course could have benefit in other places where our names might be used).
You can do by going to https://www.adobe.com/account.html, then choose “My Information” (and login if prompted). Then, on the page shown, under the section “My Personal Profile” you can fill in the first and last name fields. (You can also your password here, and it seems even your username.)
It may be possible that after making that change, you would need to sign out and back into the forums (forums.adobe.com) for the change to be picked up, but if it is, you should then see "Welcome [your name]" in the top right corner of the forums page, if it's worked.
And now any forum messages you create should have that name at the top of the message when people read it, and it would also be in the FROM address if people receive it as email (note we're NOT talking about your email address. That is never shown. If people reply to forum messages received by email, the reply goes back to a generic forum email address.)
Hope all that's helpful to someone.
BTW, I had done the change myself a long time ago, so I'm retracing these steps now for others to do it. If you try it and can confirm that it works, please drop a note here. Thanks.

    It works, thanks!

  • Apple Mail 7.3 - How to change my profile picture?

    Hi!
I checked the old available posts, but none of them really solved my question, so here I go again with my question regarding the small picture shown on outgoing mails in Apple's Mail 7.3.
Currently it shows a default 'green lightning' picture on my outgoing mails in the upper right corner.
I did: System Preferences > Users & Groups, and selected Current User (Admin/myself), and dragged and dropped a new personal picture into the picture box showing the old 'green lightning' default picture which was then substituted by the new pic of my choice. All done.
However, Mail 7.3 after numerous restarts and 48 h later now, STILL shows on outgoing mails the old 'green lightning' pic which I had substituted before via Sytem Preferences > Users & Groups.
    Can anybody help?
    Thanks!!

    Hey MN072012,
Thanks for the question. The picture is actually pulled from your card in Contacts. If you open up Contacts and find the card that is associated with your email address, I suspect you will see that the “lightning” picture is still linked to that card. Try changing it there and sending a test email to yourself.

Add or change the contact pictures that appear in contact cards and in other apps that use contact information, such as Mail and Messages. Your contacts don’t see the pictures; only you do.
