Facebook in Mountain Lion?

I upgraded to Mountain Lion 10.8.2, and I keep seeing talk of Facebook integration, but I do not see it. anything I need to do to activate that feature (or any other cool 10.8.2 feature I am missing).

Open System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars, click on Facebook and log in...

That feature is "coming this fall" according to apple.

  • Erroneous behaviour from iPhoto, Facebook, and Mountain Lion

Mountain Lion has downloaded my Facebook photos from iPhoto, put them in "All My Files" and... it won't let me delete them? I can't drag or drop them, can't delete them, I can _only_ open them. How do I get rid of them, and why did this happen?
And especially curious, some of the photos appear to be of _just_ peoples faces, as if iPhoto stores the identified/unidentified faces of people as individual photos.
    This is really irritating.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

It began when I noticed the dock icon for "all my files" was randomly filling up with photos.

You can read about Facebook at this link.  It does say in the top left corner that it's coming in the fall.

  • Problem setting up Twitter/Facebook on Mountain Lion...

So I just downloaded and installed the Mountain Lion update on me early 2011 15" Macbook Pro.
I went into System Preferences > Mail, Contacts & Calenders and then setup my iCloud.
I then successfully setup my Twitter account.
I then went back in to try and setup my Facebook but the option for facebook was no longer in the choices...

  • Where is Facebook on Mountain Lion?

I got the new OSX Mountain Lion and i cant find Facebook on it, please help.

Provided you have 10.8.2, Facebook integration is in System Preferences - Mail, Contacts and Calendars. You can add a Facebook account there, and decide whether or not to import your Facebook contacts/thumbnails. You can configure Notifications separately in that preference panel.

  • Integrating Facebook in Mountain Lion has caused duplicated birthday events in my Calendar. Is there any way to show only the birthdays of my iCloud contacts, and ignore birthdays from my Facebook contacts?

I do not have any contacts on my local machine. Before updating to Mountain Lion, I stored all of my contacts and calendars in iCloud. When I updated and integrated Facebook, it added the Facebook contacts and all of their information to my Contacts directory. I have merged all duplicated data, and still my Calendar shows a birthday entry for my iCloud contact, and a second entry for the Facebook version of the same (merged and linked) contact. Is there any way to disable Facebook birthdays in my Calendar? Or, for bonus points, is there any way to merge the Facebook category of contacts with my iCloud contacts so that I never see duplicated data in any applications?

You can disable the facebook contacts by going to System Preferences -> Mail Contacts and Calendars -> Facebook, and the unchecking contacts.  That will remove your facebook contacts from your contact book.  Not sure if thats exactly what you want, but that's the only thing I could discover.

I think what this chap wants is to remove the DP version of Facebook Integration. I also have Facebook Integration installed (it's a DP4 version). I would also want to know how on earth do I remove it, because there's no uninstaller package for it.
You'll likely need to read up on forums hosted by the developer which provided your preview copy of OSX.  There are very few here using DP versions of OSX.
You may need to wait until FB integration is officially released.

  • Removing facebook  from mountain lion

facebook doesn't show up in applications , so I can't remove it ,there must be a way

I'm not sure if I completely understand your question, but unfortunately there is not a way to remove it. Facebook is baked in to the Notification Center. The closest thing to removal that you can do is delete your Facebook connection in "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" in System Preferences.

  • Cannot access Facebook via Mountain Lion

Running 10.8.2 on a MBP 5,1. At first, I had no trouble. At some point, I became unable to access facebook from any browser- chrome, safari, or firefox. Chrome gives the response "This webpage is not available. Google Chrome could not load the webpage because www.facebook.com took too long to respond. The website may be down, or you may be experiencing issues with your Internet connection." i.e. the response I'd expect to get from any url without an internet connection. However, I can access Facebook just fine in Windows 7 via bootcamp and iOS. Other variables- I had a Facebook related extension called social fixer installed on chrome, but doubt this is the problem. Firefox and safari did not have the extension, and did not work either. In Windows 7, I kept the extension, and facebook still worked. I did a bit of research and really couldn't find much on this problem. Tried a few simple things, clearing cache, cookies etc., rebooting... no dice. Help appreciated! Thank you in advance!

If you have the same problem in all browsers, then obviously it has nothing to do with Safari extensions, which can only affect Safari.
Launch the Network Utility application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Network Utility in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Select the Lookup tab and enter
    www.facebook.com
in the address field. Press return. Post the output – the text, please, not a screenshot.
    Step 2
Select the Ping tab and do the same.

  • Connect Contacts on Mountain Lion as on iOS 6.0

Isn't it possible to connect several Contacts (like an iCloud and an Facebook) on Mountain Lion to just one Contact like on the iPhone?
I've connected them all on my iPhone, but on my Mac not everyone is connected. Just a few.
But I do not find any way to do this on Contacs on Mountain Lion.  It is very annoying to see each person 3 times, iCloud, Facebook and a Work Group.
    Thanks
    Fabio91

Ok, you're going to have to use a different term, then. Merge means combine the info on two cards into one card.
Where exactly do you see the information that you want "merged."
Say you are looking at one Contact, you obviously see some other contact, somewhere, that you want to somehow relate to the one. Can you fill in the details of the somewhere, somehow.
How is that information "merged" on iOS 6. Where do you see that information? How is it combined?

Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.
