Facebook, IOS 6, iPhone 5

Ive recently noticed that my iPhone 5 running the latest version of IOS 6 doesnt make a sound when i have a facebook notification, it happnes on and off but 9 times out of 10 wont notify me, all my other notifications works i.e messages, email just wondered if anyone new what the situiation is? ive read some forums and apparently its been happening since the IOS 6 update? also sometimes twitter doesnt either but this is very rare.
if anyone knows how to fix this issue it would be much appreciated.

Try the first step again -
Settings > Facebook > Allow these Apps to Use Your Account: Calendar and Contacts to OFF (clicked "Update all Contacts")
BUT..
Do not click Update all contacts. Just slide to off, then check contacts list to see if it has returned to normal

The other day, I had logged out of Facebook on my iPhone, and when I tried logging back in, it wouldn't let me. When I try to log in through the settings page, it stays on verifying for a while and says "Error signing in" and tells me there is no internet connection and when I try logging in through the facebook app, it says "Connection timed out" and asks me to make sure i have an active internet connection. The fact is my internet is working, and I can log in to facebook through safari, but not my app.
And one more thing. I have tried most of the methods mentioned in the forums. I have spent the last 2 days trying all of them from trying to create a new account using the old details, remove the phone number from facebook and try again, hard reboot by pressing the home and power buttons, resetting network and privacy settings, and reinstalling the app about 3-4 times. None of these work.
I'd be grateful if somebody can help me out with this .
Phone specs: iPhone 5, 16GB memory, iOS 8.1

The error 1009 error is normally associated with a blocked country. There are a list of countries that Apple is not allowed to sell their software to due to US restrictions

If you want to use the Facebook app and you don't have an older version saved in your iTunes library, then you won't be able to download it on that device. Either use Safari to access Facebook or get a device that can run iOS 7 and install Facebook.

In a nutshell, you can't get it on the 3GS, must have iOS 7 or later.
I highly recommend getting a 4S or newer phone.

Hi guys... The notifications i'm speaking about are everything that happens on our facebook. The only exception where i get notifications is if someone actually use my name on a post, then i have a notification. Now, if it is a post on my wall, a comment on one of my photos or even a like, there is no sound or vibration at all.
Also, when i say "We" is bacause there are a few users complaining about the same. There are some other forums, specially on facebook about this. What happens is that facebook blocks some of those groups.
One more thing is i did try all possible things to make sure i was doing the right things in order to have notifications. Slider is obviously not in mute position, notifications sounds are on on facebook settings on main settings and also inside the app they are on. Did try to switch everything off and reboot then change again. Did restore the iPhone as new a couple of times. And like i said, if someone actually write my name i will have sound notification...

If you're unable to connect to the App Store to download the Facebook app, I would follow these directions:
Make sure your date, time, and time zone are correct in Settings > General >Date & Time.
Note: Time Zone may list another city in your time zone.

I have done a factory reset at 45% battery. After the reset it's still hot and at 35% now
