Facebook loads in text-only version (Mac OS X 10.6.7, latest Google Chrome)

Hi,
last days I have been having a problem with loading facebook.com page, it loads in raw text-only version (no colors, images, etc.), looks like this:
Other webpages loads normally. The problem is apparently inside my Mac, because facebook.com works fine on my Windows notebook. And of course, I tried another internet browsers (like Safari, Firefox), I cleared browsing data in Chrome's preferences, but nothing didn't help.
Do you have any ideas how to solve it?

Woo-hoo! No replies after a year! Go Apple! Really helpful.
Not.

    Some news web sites will not fully load. MSNBC will only show the head line and advertisers. CNN and Fox show a text only version with very limited pictures and the same for . Durdge report loads fully as will the Chicago Trib. seems like only certain news sites are subject to this partial display. have not seen this on commercial sites.

  • Is there  a text only version of Safari?

    I want to save data for the next couple of days and thought I could browse Text Only but this feature seems to have vanished.

    If the Develop menu isn't showing in the Safari menu bar, select
              Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Advanced ▹ Show Develop menu in menu bar
    See the items in the menu that start with the word "Disable."

  • Recently firefox loads LinkedIn home page as text only. Was no problem before I installed latest version and the page loads fine in Explorer and Safari.

    See image.

    Thank you for the screenshot. Something is preventing the style from loading.
    There is an option in page permissions I would check first:
    # Right click on the page and select "Page Info"
    # Under Media make sure "Block Images from..." is not checked
    Then check out: [[Websites look wrong or appear differently than they should]]
    Mainly I would focus on the cache, as the cached page might be corrupt. To clear any corrupt pages it is possible to forget the site from the about:permissions page -> this is not recoverable.
    You can open the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer).
    Check on the Network tab if any content is blocked and has a file size 0 (zero).

  • With the latest release of Firefox some webpages load as text only, refresh then causes some to load properly

    some still fail to load properly after a refresh.
    This has been occurring over about the last two days or so.
    The one listed below still fails to load properly

    Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
    Try to reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
    *Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (MAC)
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • DTP error when loading attribute text (obsolete version of Datasource)

    See message below. Does PSA content need to be deleted? How do you delete PSA content?
    >
    Request REQU_6W93TMK5M0TA0E0UMMXFYRE95 not extracted; request is in obsolete version of DataSource
    Message no. RSDS198
    Diagnosis
    The request REQU_6W93TMK5M0TA0E0UMMXFYRE95 was loaded into the PSA table when the DataSource had a different structure to the current one. Incompatible changes have been made to the DataSource since then and the request cannot be extracted with the DTP anymore.
    System Response
    The request is in PSA /BIC/B0000140, version 000. The current PSA version is 001. An extraction would lead to a short dump because of field incompatibilities.
    Procedure
    If you no longer require the data, you do not need to take any further action.
    If you do still require the data, you can just extract it by creating a generic DataSource in the Myself source system in PSA /BIC/B0000140, version 000. You can find the technical name of the PSA table in the table RSTSODS with the specified PSA name and version.  Convert the data using a separate transformation into the new target format.

    Hey to delete PSA content
    1.Go to RSA1>select DataSources>double click on it -->Now..at the top you will find an option to view PSA table corresponding to that datasource..i guess you got there
    2.Now simply select the particulur request which you want to delete.from the PSA ...and at bottom left corner is a button for that..
    Now one more thing which I would suggest ...if there are some changes done in the source system side for that data source then you will have to do "replicate metadata " and also activate the DTPs again as they get inactive after doing "replicate metadata".This makes those changes transferred to bw side.

  • Windows 7x64 FF 28 renders internal "Get Add-ons" page as text only

    Setting up five new Acer Veriton E430G Windows 7 x64 desktop machines for work, each has been Windows live updated to latest spec as of end of March '14. All were brand new factory pre-installed Windows 7 x64, all have had the same set of software individually installed, Adobe Flash player, Adobe Shockwave, Acrobat Reader, QuickTime, Oracle Java 8x32 and x64, Picasa, 7-Zip, LibreOffice, Skype and of course Firefox 28.0. All have the exact same behaviour in that when the "Welcome to Firefox" first run page displays, it displays in text only with a large grey box "No video with supported format and MIME type found. If you go to Tools\Add-Ons\Get Add-ons, the internal page displays in full text only as well - no graphics, same problem when you load "Plugins" page and click "Check to see if your plugins are up to date", the following page/tab loads as text only.
    After taking one of the machines brand new out of box and creating an Acronis snapshot of the entire drive [factory install before first run] using it as a test install, I played around with a number of software / driver / updates / Firefox add-ins scenarios trying to get to the bottom of this. I have come to a dead end in as much as all runs great within Firefox, web pages from all internal pages and many on-line websites render correctly when I load a previous version of Firefox [v26.0 or v25] rather than the latest v28.0 onto each of the machines, I tried v27.01 & v27.0, these gave the same text based pages. This has been replicated successfully on the other four machines with all of the above listed latest software versions installed [no AntiVirus software installed yet as not fully in use in Office yet], change nothing else other than load the latest version v28.0 Firefox and the problem reappears.
    I did for the sake of completeness test the brand new factory install just past 'first boot set-up' and first time desktop hello, let everything settle and installed Firefox v28.0, [tested with v27.01 & v27.0] this too exhibits the exact same text only page rendering on internal Firefox pages. Yet again, over install Firefox v26.0, clear history and the same pages start loading correctly.
    I am open to suggestions regards a fix for this as I really do not want to leave the machines with old version Firefox installed on each desktop. I would also prefer not to allow each member of staff to install Google Chrome. The on-line web pages that were found to be loading as text only within Firefox 28.0 were tested and rendered correctly within Chrome 33.0.1750.154 and IE 11, this would indicate something to be clashing with Firefox or Firefox not behaving with something else. I would like to get this resolved.

    Minor update and workaround but still no fix: installing and uninstalling testing versions of Firefox again - if I stick with the bare Windows 7 Acer factory install clean out of the box [temp turn off Microsoft auto update], attach an Ethernet cable to give me internet, install Firefox 28.0 I get text only [are these pages css base?] pages for internal "Get Add-ons" page / "Welcome to Firefox" 1st run page / Mozilla "Plugin Check & Updates" page.
    If I then flush all history and close - over install 27.0.1 and repeat all of the above I get then same results. Flush all history and close again, over install 27.0 and repeat all of the above - same text based results, flush all history and close again, over install 26.0 and repeat all of the above and we have a winner. Firefox 26.0 does not have a problem displaying any of the pages correctly.
    Working my way back up version numbers again, flush all history, close Firefox, over install 27.0 and repeat all of the above and we are back to text based pages.
    I have tried a forked version of Firefox - "Pale Moon - v24.4.2" on the same machine and this gives the exact same text based results. Would this then not indicate that it is something in the base coding or settings of Firefox that has been changed after Firefox v26.0?
    Chrome and IE are displaying these Add-ons and Plugin Checks pages with no fault, why not Firefox 27 /28 ?
    In the interests of curiosity I decided to try some of the beta builds, namely 28.b9 and 29.0b7 - unfortunately same text based results :-(
    If I cannot get this to work correctly with these machines I may have to concede and let the Office users select Chrome which I really do not want to do.
    Can I run any more logs files and upload them to assist in diagnoses of this problem for a hopeful fix?

  • Online banking site now shows login page as text-only; on different computer it still shows page with images and clickables -- is there a fix?

    Previously when I logged in to my INGdirect online bank account, the login window came up showing images and clickable hotspots. Recently, the login window changed to a text-only version. On two different computers running Firefox, the login comes up in the previous version, with images and clickable hotspots. I'm unaware of having done anything to change my settings either in Firefox or on the banking website. Because it seems to be localized on this computer, I've tried downloading latest version of Firefox, but got no change, login still comes up in text-only format.

  • HELP! Need help generating TEXT-ONLY portal page...

    Text Only Portal Question:
    PLATFORM:
    =================================================================
    Sun Solaris (5.2 if memory serves) for db and mid-tier, running
    8.1.7 DB and 3.0.9 (1.0.2.2) portal.
    THE NEED:
    =================================================================
    I need to display text only portal pages. Some of the more
    detailed concerns at this point are below. Also, I've had an open
    tar on Metalink for about two weeks, and after research from
    their end has resulted in no help.
    THE ISSUES (so far):
    =================================================================
    IMAGES:
    If an anchor [A HREF=...] tag uses an image as it's "text", I
    need to strip out the ALT= text to show inside the anchor. If no
    ALT text is available, then I would like to show the image name
    as a default.
    For example:
    <img src=home.gif
    alt=Home>
    should display as:
    Home
    FORMS:
    How do I get the resulting page from a form (which include the
    login inputs and submit button, search box, advanced search page,
    etc.) to be displayed by the text only page?
    For example:
    When a form is called, the <FORM> elements are as follows:
    METHOD=GET or POST
    ACTION=url (relative or absolute) to the script.
    In this case, the action value is:
    ACTION=/servlet/page?
    pageid=6&dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30.
    This calls the advanced search API.
    I would expect that to redirect the browser back to some
    text-only version, the ACTION= element would have to be changed
    to be something like:
    ACTION=[pathscraper]?/servlet/page?
    pageid=6&dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30
    REDIRECTION:
    What happens when portal pages redirect internally? How do you
    get back to the text-only page?
    For example:
    The login link on the standard Oracle Portal home page flips
    from url to url to get to the actual login page. Our
    implementation of Oracle portal goes from
    [DOMAIN]/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.wwsso_app_admin.ls_login
    to [domain]/pls/portal30_sso/portal30_sso.login_page.
    Since this is standard Oracle redirection, how can it be
    intercepted so the portal30_sso.login_page can be presented as
    text only?
    TRIED SO FAR:
    =================================================================
    I've written a socket/text scraper in Perl, running it from a web
    server. The problems mentioned above are really causing problems,
    plus the whole cookie thing. Since Oracle Portal tries to push a
    cookie to the client, when the client is another UNIX server,
    the cookie thing doesn't work.
    POSSIBLE OTHER SOLUTIONS:
    =================================================================
    Something...anything. I've tried to think of some method to
    create some sort of PL/SQL procedure to catch the content then
    strip out the HTML calls.
    An Applet to do the same thing, but on the client side, but
    since time is an issue, coding a complete Java applet isn't
    really an option.
    THE CONCLUSION:
    =================================================================
    HELP! I need some help. This is for a client that is government
    funded, and to meet Section 508 (part of the Americans with
    Disabilities Act that states web sites and applications must be
    made accessible. A text-only page is one of the requirements for
    an accessible page.
    Thanks,

    Hello equipix,
    If all messages are being sent as text messages instead of iMessage messages, you may want to double-check that you have an active internet connection available, as outlined in the following article:

  • In Mac OSX Firefox is hanging when trying to save files forcing restart - related to Google Chrome Script possibly

    When saving files from within Firefox sometimes, I get a pop up dialog message saying "Warning Unresponsive Script". The script it refers to is "chrome:global/content/bindings/general.xml:0". I am usually running Chrome at the same time cause I use different browsers for different things and that's the only way I can keep my workflow straight. However, I am not sure what one, would have to do with the other. But there it is. When this happens, things are usually fine and I can save my photo or whatever just fine no problem. However, about 25% of the time it locks me into a loop that I cannot get out of. I cannot dismiss the script error, I cannot save the file or skip the file save dialog box either, and the only way I can continue in Firefox is to force close it and restart. This is SERIOUSLY annoying me and affecting me adversely and I am going to have to dump Firefox and use something else if I can't get this resolved.
    I took a look at the error log to see what it said and found the following:

    Any ideas on fixing this? I did not have this problem with the previous version of Firefox and only started encountering it recently when I started using Firefox 3.6.13

    Early on I tried starting firefox in safe mode as one possible fix, and that didn't solve the problem. I just tried again right now with the fresh installation, and still no luck.
    Any other ideas?

  • My Mac has started to shut down unexpectedly since we installed google chrome. Any ideas?

    I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and also installed Google Chrome. Since then our Mac will shut down unexpectedly. Any ideas?

    Hi, lindafrommendota.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    I understand that your Mac restarts unexpectedly after the install of Google Chrome.  Here is a troubleshooting article that will walk your through some steps for this issue.  However, since this issue started once you installed a specific program, I would uninstall this program and test the results.
    OS X: When your computer spontaneously restarts or displays "Your computer restarted because of a problem."

  • Facebook Loads only in text. Have tried everything (History, User Accounts) but nothing worked. What to do?

    Problem with Facebook, loads everything as text. I searched the internet and found a lot of things to try. But nothing worked.
    So Far I tried:
    1) Clearing All Cache, History, Cookies.
    2) Making new User Account
    3) Re-installing Firefox.
    4) Other Browsers.
    5) Removing and trying Add-Ons and extensions 1 by 1.
    Nothing from the above worked. I don't know what else to do, every other website I went worked. Sometimes the first page works, other times it doesn't. When I try to post something and press like to a comment (When I was trying to see if other pages work and this error isn't only in 1 place only) the usual facebook error pops-up and that works ok.
    I have a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate, and I don't know what else to do.

    Is it only with Firefox?? You can try to check the permissions for Firefox in any and all security software and remove any possible hindrances. Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Firewalls this]
