Facebook losing login after reboot

I don't seem to have anything untoward in my Cookie or Security settings, but quitting and restarting Safari doesn't give me the problem, only rebooting does.  Then my login to Facebook is gone.  Both username and password have disappeared, even though I had the checkbox to save it checked.  Safari 6.1.6, Mac OS X 10.7.5, latest security update.    Here's the Etrecheck result if it makes any difference:

It seems a repair permissions solved it.
What triggered this issue in the first place was Facebook told me my certificate in the first place was not valid.    Updating to Safari 6.1.6 from 6.1.4, and adding the 10.7.5 2014 Security Update #4 followed, and then it wouldn't keep the login on reboot.   Repairing permissions finally solved it.

  • WLAN AutoConfig Service crashes 3 or 4 times after you first login after rebooting?

    Hi,
My lenovo came with windows vista - I upgraded to 7 when I got a chance.  I have W7 Professional.  I have all the Lenovo drivers installed except access connections.  I don't like the tool.  Anyways, Windows manages my wireless adapter.  I have the weirdest issue -- right after I login after rebooting, the service "WLAN AutoConfig" crashes 3 or 4 times in sucession any time something tries to access the net.  If you restart it enough times, it eventually stays up and never crashes again until you reboot.  Also, the fancy aeropeek stuff crashes too.  The task bar becomes non-transparent.  That eventually recovers as well.
I have another t61 thru my work running w7 and it doesn't have this issue.  The difference between the two of them is mainly that it has the intel based wifi card instead of the atheros based one.
In the event log, I see:

  • IPFW losing rules after reboot

I am trying to block port 137 UDP and TCP and after I reboot the rules are gone. I run the following commands:
sudo ipfw add 1 deny tcp from any to any 137 out
sudo ipfw add 2 deny udp from any to any 137 out
Before a reboot I run sudo ipfw list and things look great.....reboot and run it again and I just see the default rule.
Probably a stupid question, but I can't find the answer anywhere and I am a noob with ipfw. And Leopard just mixes the whole process up as well with ipfw and its new application firewall.
So I guess my questions are: Why do the rules disappear? How do I get the rules to stay?
    Thanks,
    Dan

    Hi
It sounds like you need to configure a startup script without a startup script when you reboot your computer- the computer "forgets" the ipfw rules
You can google the search terms : "ipfw startup script " "launch daemons ipfw " " ipfw rules gone after reboot" "shell script launch firewall rules ipfw" "ipfw startup plist " -OR-
You can use WATERROOF waterroof is a free application that will help you configure your ipfw rules waterroof will also install a startup script and a startup plist on your hard drive
Check out this link to the waterroof website

    Hope This Helps

  • Freezing on login after reboot

Everything was working great for a few days. Now when I try to login, after I enter my password a progress bar is appearing. It is filling to about 1/4 of the way before it freezes. I've seen another thread describing a similar situation but could not find it again to post there.
    Additional information:
-2014 Retina MacBook Pro purchased in August
    -FileVault is enabled
-i noticed that wireless had stopped working so I restarted. That's when this issue started for me.
-I use a Thunderbolt Display at work
-The last time machine backup was from just before I updated to Yosemite. I have data saved after the time that I really do not want to lose.

    Resolved for now.
I arrived at work and connected to my thunderbolt display and it quickly booted with no problems at all.
I suspect the issue is related to network connectivity and FileVault somehow.

  • No login after reboot

Does anybody know why i couldn´t login as Administrator to the adobe lifecycle workflow admin-page after an restart of the computer on which it runs. I always have to reinstall it.
I know that i have the right password, because before the reboot it worked well (i didn´t change the standard password yet).
This problem drives me really crazy.

    Hi Jens
It may be that when you synchronize to LDAP, you have an LDAP user named "administrator". THis might conflict with the built-in user also called "administrator".
Can you try creating another user, give them all privileges, and see whether you can log in as this user after a reboot.
Also, try doing a search for "administrator" in the adminui BEFORE your reboot, and see what entries you get.
    Just a thought....

  • Messaging and Social Networking Widgets Losing Settings After Reboot...

I'm having problems with my Messaging and Social Networking Widgets losing all of their settings after a reboot (power off/on).
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix for this issue?

Try doing a phone reset by removing your battery for 5 seconds then place it back in and power your phone on.  You may have to add the settings back. • Can´t login after reboot ?

My MacBook Pro went in to reboot and when it starts up I can choose between "My usersname" or "Guest", but when I click on "My username" it just keep loading a bit and then show the Mac Stop sign.
I can log in as guest and log in trough Coomand+R, but when I try doing a "Reinstall Mac OS X" it show "Recovery HD" but "This disk is locked"
I use FireVault, can this also be an issue ?
Hope there is a Mac genius here that can help me ???

Hi merchant express, and a warm welcome to the forums!
If Command + s would work
I think you'd have two choices...
Reset OS X Password Without an OS X CD...
    http://theappleblog.com/2008/06/22/reset-os-x-password-without-an-os-x-cd/
It'll boot like a newly setup Mac, but all your stuff should still be there once filling out the stuff.
    But since it doesn't...
Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
Just be sure to select Preserve Users & Settings.

Unable to remove login items (Revert after reboot) iOX10.5 iMac
I am having issues and permanent encounter in having my removed login items reappearing after reboot. I have very MANY of the same programs in 'open at Login accounts' eg: Messenger,Safari,Skype,Evernote,Dropbox, antivirus, but they are listed dozens of times. in this 'open at login' area.
Here's the steps I have taken:
    1) Open Applications, Account Preferences, cluck my administrator acc, select program to delete, click on - and wait.
    2) Remove some login items (with or without unlocking the lock, doesn't seem make a difference, tried both)
    3) Login items are now fewer
    4) Reboot
    5) voila, the removed login items are still loaded and displayed in login item tab.
How does one solve this? Tried to google, but....

    Strange,but try these 2...

  • Embedded machine losing IP address after reboot

I have an industrial PC running a trial version of Windows Embedded Standard. It has a hard-coded IP address, and is scheduled to reboot every night. Every so often (3 times in the last 2 weeks), the device
will reboot, but another IP address will get assigned to the device. This device is NOT set up for DHCP. Looking through event viewer, I see a warning after the scheduled reboot stating that the device
cannot resolve our web address (which is expected since it no longer holds a valid IP). There is an error following that message stating that "The Superfetch service terminated with the following error: The system cannot find the file specified".
Rebooting the device again often resolves the issue - the device takes the correct IP address.
Has anyone ever run into an issue where a device running this OS loses its IP address after reboot?

  • Lion takes 15 seconds to log in after reboot on Macbook Pro 13" (early 2011)

I have been having sluggish performance (repeated beachballs, etc.) on my Macbook Pro 13-inch (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB RAM), which I bought this summer pre-installed with Lion.
I didn't migrate my old system, I just installed everything on my new machine. After about 9 years of OS X upgrades on various machines, I decided to start fresh and just installed my applications and transferred the data manually. It took some time, but I wanted it lean and clean.
Within weeks though, things were starting to slow down. This morning, it took over 15 seconds after reboot before I could even log in to my user account (I clicked on the icon for my account, and after 4-5 seconds it beachballed for 10 seconds before the field for the password "slid" into place).
I've tried checking and unchecking having Lion restore my previous session before rebooting; closing all applications before restarting; not closing applications before restarting. But consistently, right after logging in for several minutes, and then after several hours of use (and/or the next day, if I put my laptop to sleep instead of shutting it down) opening, saving documents, viewing mailboxes after opening Mail, or even viewing folder contents in the Finder can take from several to 30+ seconds.
Here is the log from my most recent boot. I have Dropbox, LogMeIn, Default Folder, and Growl (the pre-App Store version), and I have Parallels (which I very rarely use), but I don't see why any of these would slow down my machine before I even log in. Besides this, I have pretty standard fair applications. I would very much appreciate any help/advice!

After biting the bullet and ordering more RAM, my computer now is working a ton better. So that must have been the main issue. With 8 GB RAM, I can now even run Parallels fluidly (better than my work PC!) where before simple things like logging in to my MBP after reboot could take forever.
The place I went to had several other people getting RAM upgrades at the same time as me, so between this and other comments I've seen in discussions here and elsewhere on the Internets, I take it to mean that either Apple should bump up the base RAM on its new machines, and/or stop charging so much for additional RAM.
I refused to believe a Pro machine bought with Lion installed would come with too little RAM for light to medium usage, but it was apparently the case. I'll mark this as a correct answer and hope some other poor soul will come across this thread and be helped by it.

  • Express does not reconnect after reboot of Extreme

My extreme is conencted (via ethernet) to my router (bridge mode)
My Express is connected to Extreme to expand wireless network (bridge mode)
However when i reboot the extreme, the Express is no longer visible
I have to reboot as well. is this normal?
Also, logically (as per above config) the extreme & express are part of ONE wireless network
So a device conected will "roam" between the 2 as if it's only 1 wifi point (?)
However when i connect a wireless security camera, it shows me express & extreme seperately (eventhough same name & login)
and I have to choose to which one to connect.
IThis means if it's connected to Express & Express stops working, then
it will NOT got directly to the extreme (eventhough it's well in range)
    Plsd to hear
    Egon

  • After reboot the password is not asked

    Hi All
I have just installed ArchLinux for the first time, using the beginners guide
After installing it, configuring it, generating the master key required for pacman updated, I run:
    pacman -Syu
After some of the things have been installed, I did get an error:
error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files)
    filesystem: /etc/mtab exists in filesystem
So after searching the forums,  I found this command, which didn't help:
    pacman -S filesystem --force
    So then I run:
    pacman -Syu --force
This seemed to install some stuff and finished apparently successful. So I did a reboot, just to have everything clear, and I found out I can not login anymore when the system starts.
This means that the login prompt from tty1 appear:
    Arch Linux 3.4.4-2-ARCH (tty1)
    <hostname> login:
after typing root (or my other user I have created) the system hands a few seconds(I can still type rubbish in the meantime), and just returns to the same message to enter my login. The prompt to enter the password never appears...
Of course even if I change tty's it doesn't get better.
After it comes back to the logging it has the message: Hint: Num lock on. It's like he is checking for my password and it's wrong. But I do not provide him with one.
    Any suggestions you might have?
The system is a WM machine, so I don't care if I have to Nuke it.

  • Failure: Cannot login after Lion 10.7.2 update

I cannot login after performming the update realeased today.
After boot, at the login screen, I see the user in the circles. Upon selecting a user, entering the password, the spinning circle below the Apple appears. It spins for a few mnutes, then return with a NOT symbol as the spinner contues to spin endlessly. After a while, the fan kicks into overdrive.
I tried to do the boot in recovery, start terminal, resetpassword, restart, login as root steps, but do not see an option to login as root upong restart - just the User circle icon.

I have a similar problem, but it looks like I have solved it.
I rebooted holding down ommand-R to get to the recovery-HD mode.  From there I chose the options to re-install Lyon (requires internett access because it downloads a new copy).
Since I have multiple disks attached (the internal and a bootable backup drive) it asked which disk I wanted to use.  When I chose the internal drive it told me it was locked and asked for the FileVault unlock code.  After that things seemed to proceed properly.
I suspect that the problem is in some way tied to my use of FileVault.

  • Can't login after deleting a standard user on directory utility.

My laptop was rebooted in an apple service center, they made a user account for me to use. I backed up my old user with migration using time machine. I changed the administrator to my old user account and tried to delete the other user but it kept on returning. After searching on how to delete user, I found a tutorial that promted me to delete that account using the directory utility found in Systems/Library/CoreServices.
When I tried to log in again, my computer can't find the administrator user. The log in screen is empty and when I type the admin name and password, it would just load and nothing. On the password box, the little circle would just go round and round. Please help!

    Hi RHermann,
    I have some question.
Does the user use a network account for login and how many users are affected by this problem?
Did that happened with a local user account on the same PC, too?
Which OS is running on your PC? Windows 7 64 Bit?
Which server system do you use for the User server?
Do you get any problem reports if you login after uninstall DIAdem?
Can you tell me which HW you use? Dell HP …
I hope that information will make it possible to detect your problem. :-)
