Facebook messenger notification alert

Maybe someone can answer this question. I was told on some recent updates to the iphone that when you get a private message or friend request from facebook you can now get a alert sound notification informing you. I know on the older ios versions I was told that you did not have a option to get a ringtone notification like sms or email sound.
I do know on the android system, when anyone sends a friend request or any other thing on facebook you get an alert. Im considering upgrading to the iphone 5 and wanting to get this feature like what is on the android phones. If this feature is on the iphone 5 can you tell me the steps in order to get the messenger ringtone sound. Thank you for your advise..

Messenger notification/alert no longer working

My friend purchased a Verizon Curve a week after I did. His Messenger alert stopped working. He did a clean reset and wiped everything clean. After a week, it stopped working again. It is the only program that the ringtone that is not woking on. He did the typical battery pull. Checked and rechecked the profile. He is technically very savvy, and I guarantee it is not a setting, since he checked them multiple times over. He swears it's a bug. The problem with that is that I have the same phone purchased aweek earlier, and I don't have that problem.

Whatsapp+Facebook Messenger Notification

Hi everyone!! I get tired of the "pop-out" message telling me to turn on the "Show on lock screen" every time that I want to read my messages.. Really its annoying cause I want it in that way, no showing on lock screen private messages... Is there any way to disable it?? Thks!!

I can't receive any notifications alerts from Facebook, facebook messenger and any downloaded application on my iphone 4 please help!!!

I have this problem since I bought the iphone from a coworker (came as factory unlocked and jailbroken) And the push notifications is not working with any application downloaded, for example: facebook, facebook messenger, whatsapp, etc.
I removed the jailbreak and restore to the official iOS 6.1.3, but I have don't have results, please i need help!
Now I upgraded to iOS 7 but the problem remains.
I don't know what can do now

Amigos, soy Chileno y buscando eh encontrado la solucion por lo menos en mi caso para el problema de notificaciones para el 5s.
Lo que debemos hacer primero es ir a la aplicacion de Facebook en el celular, entrar a configuracion de la cuenta/ luego a privacidad/ luego a sesiones activas ( en mi caso tenia 12 sesiones activas). Le di cerrar a todas las sesiones y deje solo la que funcionaba en mi Iphone 5s con ios 7. Luego de eso sali de la configuracion y desactive mi cuenta de facebook. Espere 2 minutos y volvi a activarla introduciendo mi usuario y contraseña en la misma aplicacion lo que provoco la reactivacion de mi facebook y ahora...
La aplicacion de facebook aparecio automaticamente en el centro de notificaciones ! recibo todas las notificaciones de esta y la puedo configurar con tiras, globos, etc.
Me despido, esperando que esta solucion les sirva y porfavor comenten si fue util mi explicacion o si falta algo !

IOS6 Notifications in Facebook Messenger vs. Facebook.app

I disabled push notificaitons inside the Facebook.app for messages, hoping that they would appear with a badge + alert on the Facebook Messenger.app instead.
However, this is not the case...
The badge is upadated for Facebook.app, and nothing happens if I don't have the Facebook Messenger.app window open.
Is this normal? Or is there something wrong with iOS 6?

I moved the enable notifications sliders of both apps off and then on, which seems to have fixed the problem.
Weird.
Definitely some sort of hang-up. Anyway, how come no one replied?

Facebook and Facebook Messenger message push notifications not working?

I have a 4th generation iPod touch running iOS 6.1.5 and an iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4. On my iPod touch, Facebook and Facebook Messenger give me notifications for everything. On my iPhone, the Facebook app gives me every notification except for messages. Facebook Messenger, on the other hand, doesn't give me any kind of notification aside from the in-app notifications. I've been missing important messages on my iPhone because of this. I've set all notifications settings on my iPhone to "on." I turned on all the notifications settings in the notification center, the apps themselves, and even the Facebook integrated settings under Settings > Facebook. I also tried everything from uninstalling and reinstalling, to hard booting, to logging in and out of the applications, and I even turned off Facebook platform on the computer. I was wondering if this has something to do with being online on both my iPod touch and my iPhone, but my mom has an iPad 3 (I think?) and an iPhone 5s and she never has notification problems. I've already tried Googling my problem up, but none of the solutions worked. I really hope you guys can help me. Thanks a ton in advance!

I've already tried reinstalling and restarting both devices. I now get comment notifications on my ipad but no chat and still nothing on my phone. I don't understand what happened. It was working 2 hours ago.

TS1702 iPhone 4s Facebook Notification alert Sound is not Working anymore???

I am using Apple iPhone 4s, 5.1.1, recently I noticed that the notifications which I am receiving on facebook the sound is missing there, Before there was a sound on each and every notification of facebook, I tried to Uninstall the Facebook application from My Smart Phone, then restart the Phone, again re-installed but the issue is same, the Notification sound for Facebook is not ringing,
I checked all the settings and they all are ok.
I surfed the Web and somewhere found to deavtivate the facebook account and reactivate the account but that also didn't helped to Me, then I checked My account on the I-Pad, it didn't worked there as well, I used My friends facebook account on My Phone the Notification started to ring, I am not getting whats wrong, Can anyone Help Me Out this Problem???

If you are having issues with your iPad's notification alert sounds not functioning, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Notification alert All Apps In Xperia Z1

I have a phone: Sony Xperia Z1 It is a wonderful and very excellent and supernatural Hahahaha
Occurred in my mobile phone problem notification and notices and alerts.
When the screen is locked, when it comes to e-mail message, or Facebook notification and notices, or notices Facebook Messenger and instgram or viber or whatsapp notices , it does not come, or gives me a voice alarm or notice, and when you open the lock screen, come and receive all notification and notices and alerts!!
Many looked for the problem, but I can not find a solution! I hope to find a solution here

I have not been able to use my micro SD card that I bought for my Acer iconia tab 8 from day 1 as it is not functional due to whatever changes that were made prior to boxing and shipping out to the public. On the box and in advertising it is listed as a feature which constitutes fraud in my opinion. And if there is some round about way of using it that is not good enough. You should be able to utilize the card slot/function just as you would if it were a camera or a laptop computer. Even though I have not been able to use it I have left it in my tablet and when I turned my tablet on I got a notification that it was damaged and to try to reformat it. It's funny that I can't use it but the tablet somehow damaged it! Double whammy! So what is Acer going to do to fix this situation for all of us who have purchased tablets with useless card slots? No excuses or be either. Consumers, like myself, are tired of being lied to and taken advantage of. Yes laptops and tablets are more affordable then ever but that does not mean quality and customer service should be null and void because we are getting such a good deal.

How to permanently get rid of Facebook in Notification Center?

Hello,
I'm growing incredibly frustrated of the Facebook notifications in Yosemite. I've followed all directions to turn them off. I've dragged Facebook to the 'Not In Notification Center' area. I've also selected 'None' in 'Facebook alert style' and unchecked 'Shot notifications on lock screen' as well as 'Show in Notification Center'.
Yet, every time I restart my computer, Facebook notifications start littering my desktop and, sure enough, all the preferences I set for it have been reset and it's back in my Notification Center.
If anyone can tell me how to simply delete Facebook from Notification Center all together, I'd be thrilled.

Let me know if it works... You can add facebook in internet acounts again later if you want it...
It might reset the settings.. And may solve the problem anyhow...
i.e. you might want birthdays on your calendar for example...
Personally I dont like facebook junk cluttered on my email. However dont mind facebook notifications for facebook chat...
I dont know if your notification center also clutters you with other rubbish... Like facebook notifications that are not private chat... Mine doesnt... I think i had set the facebook settings a while ago not to spam all the rubbish facebook sends.

After updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google,yahoo, Facebook (message,notification,profile,home) and others site are disabled. How can solve this problem?

I tried with Firefox 4;5 and 6, same problem exist . I tried by active all add ons for facebook, same problem exist. If I use internet explorer , I don't find such problem with it.

As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.

You can likely download the last compatible version by:
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Facebook inbox notifications are no longer showing with new OS 4.5

I have a Curve 8310 with ATT. Just downloaded the new os 4.5 and got the facebook reinstalled so that I can see the icon. However, now when I get messages through my facebook inbox, notifications no longer appear on the home screen. On fact, the new emails are not showing up at all. Any thoughts?

Hello and Welcme to the Frums!
Go to your facebook on your pc and check your notifications. When I downloaded the 4.5 I had to reset all my notifications. Somehow it reset them! Let us know if that is it!
