Facebook Newsfeed Not Working on Z10

Hi Guys - Help required!!!
I've noticed a number of posts on here over the past few days about the Facebook App not loading News Feed properly. I had this issue for about 2 days, right up to the point (literally) that I started typing this post, when it suddenly started working again without my doing anything at all.
Does anyone have any idea what is happening?
The error on screen suggests a connection failure, but every other screen is available to you (i.e. your own profile page, other FB users profile pages, settings etc.), it just won't connect to News.
Odd, working now, but would love to know what the problem was / is.

Why does my Facebook newsfeed not work following the latest iOS software update?

Hi all
I've just upgraded the software on my iPad mini but I can no longer get my Facebook newsfeed. All it tells me is to add friends!! I can still view my timeline, friends pages and groups etc!
It's just my newsfeed I can't see.
I don't have the same problem on my iPhone though!!!

That said the Site Advisor 3.3.1 is blocklisted by Mozilla due to the Site Advisor extension being the #2 cause of crashing the Firefox 5.0 betas. I have heard that SiteAdvisor 3.4 is now available, which should fix all FireFox 5.0 issues. It is available from siteadvisor.com . Not sure why McAfee isn't doing an automatic update for their users.

Facebook newsfeed not working

I have recently upgraded to a blackberry Z10. When opening facebook, the newsfeeds screen opens with the turning ring and after a while comes up with the message "there was a problem connecting to facebook. Please check the connection and try again. Tap to retry". Going into any of the other sections of the app actually works. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times. I also trid the solution to go into the mobile site and set the sort order. nothing works. Can anybody help?

Yes, I believe there is an issue currently with the Facebook app connecting, I am seeing others reporting the same.

TS1702 When I update to IOS6 on my 4S Facebook does not work properly, the news feed never updates it only says no new storeys and shows a picture of an antenna. When I reset my phone and go back to IOS5 Facebook works fine. What's up with IOS6 ????

When I update my iPhone 4S to iOS six Facebook does not work properly the newsfeed doesn't load properly and I can never see what's going on all I see is a picture of an antenna and a little thing underneath it says no new stories when I reset my phone back to iOS 5 then it works just fine and I don't have any issues so there must be something wrong with iOS six that isn't letting Facebook load properly

No I did not use any unauthorized methods for anything, I simply reset my phone back to factory.

For two days now, Facebook is not working well on Firefox...all other web sites are fine, Facebook is not loading like it was, prior to yesterday, there were no problems. Facebook is working fine on Internet Explorer, but not on Firefox. What's up?

Did you always have the same problem or is it new? I always used to be able to get Facebook to work on wifi with no issues for months. I downloaded the new software update for Revolution, and all of a sudden it seems like they blocked the Facebook app somehow unless you're on 4G. It really sux because I can't get into my Zynga games either that are tied to FB! Wish someone at Verizon could be aware of this and fix the problem.
Also, interestingly, when I try to log into the Facebook site with the browser I am directed to an error page. The browser works fine for every other site though. Really seems like there was some kind of block instated that will no longer let you use Facebook on a wifi connection.

Weird... Turned the iPad off and back on, while waiting on the line to be connected to an apple support specialist, now it works.

i have the iphone 4s and facebook is not working on notification center and it does not have sound at all. why is that?

There are bunch of people with the same problem on that forum. Advise to wait until new IOS comes out on 19.
When there are so many people with same problem, usually points to server problems, possibly updating or getting ready for IOS 6

I have the galaxy s5 so does my wife and daughter, and when we are at home we hook up to the wifi, and try to use that to save on data usage. for some reason it does not load photos, comments and videos for a long time. the laptop, tablets, and tv all work fine off of the wifi. we have the same issue in public wifi. any reason?

Yes the pages load fine on data. But even games I have that use internet
don't always work right. But if I turn off the wif i. it works fine. I am
beginning to wonder if I made a mistake leaving sprint.

Facebook is not working on any of my browsers!

I am tired of my facebook not working. It has been almost a 5 months since I had this problem where it keeps saying:
This webpage is not available
Google Chrome cannot reach the website. This is typically caused by network issues, but can also be the result of a misconfigured firewall or proxy server.
Now I get the same result on all my browsers. I have tried many many solutions from removing cache, proxies, hosts.. Nothing works. Even changing my DNS server to 8.8.8.8. Please someone help me lol and yes facebook works on all the computers in my house except mine

You, or someone using your computer, hacked the system to block certain servers, perhaps unknowingly. The file modified is /etc/hosts. Some commercial "anti-virus" software, such as "Avast," may modify this file. If you've installed any such software, I suggest that you remove it according to the developer's instructions before continuing.
The easiest way to fix the hosts file is to restore it from a backup that predates the modification, or to copy the unmodified file from another Mac. If you can't do that, then do as below. Please read this whole message before doing anything.
Back up all data. This is a simple procedure, but if you don't follow the instructions exactly, you could be left with an unbootable system. In that case, you'll have to restore from a backup or reinstall OS X.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
open -a TextEdit /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:

Below that, you'll see some other lines. There should be nothing above the first line "##". If you have any doubt about that, STOP and ask for guidance. Make sure you scroll all the way to the bottom of the document. Scroll bars are hidden by default until you actually start scrolling, so you may not realize that you’re not seeing the whole document.
If the contents of the TextEdit window are as described, close it, then enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (by copy and paste):
sudo sed -i~ '11,$d' /etc/hosts
This time, you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. Confirm. Quit Terminal. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
That will fix the hosts file. There is now a copy of the old hosts file with the name "hosts~" in the same folder as "hosts". You can delete the copy if you wish.

Typeahead function in search field inside Facebook does not work in Firefox 13.0

Until 3 or 4 days ago, cool typeahead function inside search field inside Facebook always worked in Firefox. Now since 4 days ago, it does not work. But the typeahead function works inside search field inside Facebook on Internet Explorer BUT I prefer to use Firefox and do NOT want to switch to IE!!!
Is there anything I can do to regain that function?

The behavior did not start with Firefox 13. I actually upgraded to Firefox 13 in hope it would solve the problem that happened in previous older versions. It failed to solve the problem.
It had been working for 3 years on Firefox until last or 2 weeks ago.
Regarding search, I mean by "type-ahead" which is that FB's search field offers a drop down list of possible search results as I type. For example, if I type S, it will show list of all people or groups with first letter S. If I type sk, it will show list of anything such as people or groups that starts with Sk, and so on. This is most valuable time saving technique to look for my pals to say hi or groups that I do not belong to but want to read their news or info.
I think it is Facebook's programming problem but if I ask them, they will point to Firefox's fault by saying that it works for my Internet Explorer but not for Firefox and I do not want to get involved into tug war between Facebook and Mozilla.
I am just bummed that the valuable time saving search method no longer exists on Firefox.

Hotspot Not Working on Z10 After Software Release 10.3.1.1565

Hi,
Since the last update of OS Ver 10.3.1.1565 hotspot on my Z10 is not working and every time I try to connect receive a message, "Regulations in This Country Prohibit Mobile Hotspot Usage"
I am using Warid Telecom (Pakistan) LTE connection and after shifting to LTE hotspot was working but since the last OS update problem started.
A friend of mine using BB Z3 and he also received and updated the same OS update but his hotspot is working, just checked yesterday.
What could be the possibel issue and solution?

First, let me just say I don't think it's worth the trouble. This is where the OS is headed. If you downgrade, you make yourself vulnerable to the FREAK web attacks and lose many useful upgrades.
However, if you just can't live with it I'd downgrade using an autoloader:

Once it's reloaded then you can restore the backup you have. Again, I don't think it's worth it but it's your call. I recommend making a backup now, in case you decide later it was a mistake and want to upgrade again and want your data back.

Facebook app not working on bb10 after update

Hello.
I update the facebook app to the newest update on my bb10 and not it's not working at all. The app is not showing in the icons with the F, just like a spot with unfinished icon. Can't access it, can't delete it or reinstall. What's the point having a not working app? If i would know i would keep the old version

What happens when you try to delete the application? Also what version of BlackBerry 10 are you using? Go to Settings>About to find this information. Do you get any errors when you try to re-install it from BlackBerry World?
