Facebook not loading on my mac

Facebook stopped loading on my Macbook air since the last few days (March 25, 2013), but worked fine on iPhone, iPad. Does anyone have this problem?

Thanks, but it did not help. I think it is a problem with certificates or some 500 server error. The message I got (in safari, chrome, firefox) was:
www.facebook.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for *.xx.fbcdn.net
(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)
I think this is a problem on the MacOS setting, because if I use Window on my Mac, this problem disappears, and everything works fine.

  • Facebook Not loading 10.3.8 - JAVA ?

I have had issues with Facebook not loading correctly on all browers - Safari, Firefox, Chrome since I updated to 10.3.8
I have done everything from empty cache, reset router, incresases MTU and removed cookies to updating to Java 7. Anyone have any ideas?
    - MacBook Air Late 2012

Facebook doesn't use Java to my knowledge.  I don't have Java installed in the browser and never have.
Note that Java is not the same as JavaScript, despite the similiarity in name.  Do you have JavaScript enabled?  You need that.

  • Facebook not loading right

My facebook page will not load right. It looks like it is all starting in the middle and all the pop ups are already opened. Any ideas?

    HI,
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Security tab. Now click: *Show Cookies*. Delete all Facebook cookies.
Now select the Autofill tab. Click the Edit button next to *Other Forms*. Delete all Facebook url'sl.
Quit Safari (Command + Q) then relaunch Safari.
    Try accessing Facebook again.
    Mac OS X (10.6.3)
if you are running v10.6.3, there are software updates available either from your Apple menu / Software Update or System Preferences / Software Update. Select the *Scheduled Check* tab then click *Check Now*

  • Firefox 3.6.15 is not loading pages in mac osx 10.6.6

    Hi,
I have a macbook white running snow leopard 10.6.6, core 2 duo, 2 GB and firefox is not loading pages.
    I have tried:
    1) install flashplayer again(i found a topic in Internet about that)
    2) restart
    3) reinstall
    4) clean the cache and other browser stuff possible to be cleanned
    5) Used Onyx to clean the OS
I also have installed chrome and safari and they are workink fine.
    Any ideas?

Firefox 3.6.x versions are still updated with security patches (Firefox 3.6.18 is due in about two weeks).
You are unfortunately out of luck with an Intel Mac and OS X 10.4.11.<br />
There is a compatible version from for a PowerPC Mac, but no alternative for an Intel Mac.

  • Facebook not loading properly

I don't know if this is an issue with Facebook, or an issue with Firefox (maybe someone more "in the know" could tell me), but regardless...
I have had issues TWICE THIS WEEK with Firefox not loading Facebook. While it is easily solvable by resetting Firefox, it is a tad annoying/frustrating to have to re-install my add-ons after the fact.
This isn't an issue with my computer or internet connection though. If I go on Chrome while Firefox is still refusing to load Facebook, Facebook will load just fine on Chrome.
I am currently not having this problem with any other sites. Just Facebook.
EDIT: All things are current on my browser.

  • ITunes store is not loading on my mac bookpro

I have a Mac BookPro and iTunes 10.4 but recently the store will not open. At times my iPhone 4 will not sync either. Just charges up. Sometimes it just pops up and sync's on its own a while after I plug it in.
But the iTunes store not loading is a problem because podcasts load, but are not recognized. When I play one, the screen just stays black at the end and I have to restart the computer to get out of it.
All this really started when I found out OS Lion was not compatable on the mac bookpro.
Apple won't talk to me about this at all. Guess they want me to buy a new laptop.
    Thanks for your help anybody.

    Hello christinachantal
Check out the article below to troubleshoot your access to the iTunes Store.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
    Troubleshoot issues on a Mac
If you haven't been able to connect to the iTunes Store, a software conflict or your Internet service provider (ISP) may be blocking your access.
Update iTunes and Safari to the latest version.
If you have a firewall, your settings may be preventing you from connecting to the iTunes Store. Follow these steps to configure your firewall.
You may need to reset your keychain. Connection issues are occasionally caused by keychain issues. Learn how to use Keychain First Aid to resolve any issues with your keychain.
If you're receiving a specific error message, follow these steps.
If the issue still persists, contact your Internet service provider and confirm that these ports and servers are enabled over your network.
    Regards,

  • Don't Know Where Else to Ask:Website Not Loading on Any Mac But Does on PCs

    Strange.
For a couple weeks now accuweather.com will not load on any of 10 Macs at 3 different locations - which are a good 10 miles apart (whether in Firefox, Safari, or Chrome), but that site loads instantly on PCs using the same ISP (Cox) - my staff have confirmed this from their homes. All other websites seem to be zipping just fine on all the Macs.
Anyone have an idea as to why and what I might do to get back to my weather website?

Deleted cookies (and cache and history and everything else) long before posting - on all 3 browsers, on different Macs at different locations. No joy - but still this inability to load happens ONLY on this one website (I look at several dozen a day, at a minimum, and over the course of a week, up to a couple hundred).
Actually this inability to load this one site is affecting 10 Macs scattered between 3 very remote sites - the ONLY common factor is all are at 10.6.2, and Cox is the ISP (but like I said - Cox is delivering this website fine to Windows users on my staff, at their homes).
Absolutely nothing changed on the Macs themselves. I always wait 6 - 8 weeks after updates come out just to make sure all is stable before putting my economic life on the line. No Mac updates installed during that time frame. The only change along the way was upgrading Firefox a few weeks ago, but I can't see how that would impact Safari or Chrome (which have not been touched in a month). Also - this behavior did not manifest right after updating FF.
I did boot FF into Safe Boot and that didn't do anything.
    Any more thoughts?
    Thanks (anyone)!

  • I just bought Thor Blu-ray   digital copy.  The digital copy disc is not loading on my Macs (x3).  Any ideas?

I purchased Thor on Blu-ray + digital copy.  I tried transferring the movie to my MacPro tower, but the digital copy disk will not load.  I'm able to insert it and I can hear the drive trying to read it, but after about a min., it is ejected.  I also tried on two separate MacBook Pros.  All three machines are running 10.6.8.

Chris, if you read the full question, you'll see that I am referring to the "digital copy disc" which is a standard DVD.

  • Facebook not loading correctly in Safari

The last few days my Facebook profile has not been loading correctly in Safari. When I first got the phone, all pages would load. Now, every time I click the 'profile' link, only text shows up, no photos or media. I have cleared the cache and history already. At first, this was just my profile, however, now it is doing it to my friends profiles as well.
The main page loads fine with all graphics and such. I have also noticed when I click on 'profile', it constantly adds iphone.facebook to the beginning of the link. Even if I change it, it always loads it.
Anyone know a fix for this? Very annoying.

Don't try to "change" it. They are reading your browser type and directing you to the mobile version of the site. If you don't want it, go to the bottom of the page and choose the link that says load the Full Site. Then the site will act like it does on your computer.

  • Website does not load in my Mac

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem loading a particular work-related webpage in Safari, or any other mac related browser. I have tried Firefox, Internet Explorer for Mac. After getting through password and the OTP, the page loads, however where the icons are supposed to be located for me to navigate through the site, there is nothing.
Here is what the site displays at the log in page. "This site uses 128 bit SSL encryption to secure and protect all information contained in online transactions. This site is best viewed at 800 x 600 screen resolution with Internet Explorer 5.5 or above."
If i use Parallels or VMware and use internet explorer, it works. Is there a solution around this as i am planning to get a new Mac soon and would rather not have to deal with the hassle of installing windows all over again.
Would appreciate any help at all!

X11, is a Graphical User Interface designed specifically for Unix operating systems. Depending on the version of Mac OS X 10.5 you have installed you may be able to install X11 from the installer disc which installed 10.5 on your machine, or have to go to Apple's website:
    http://developer.apple.com/opensource/tools/X11.html
Once installed, http://www.kronenberg.org/ies4osx/ will install on Macs with X11. This gives you compatibility with post I.E. 5.2.3 Internet Explorer only websites.
my guess is that if i were to install firefox or safari on a pc, it would probably work too. but that's my guess and i haven't actually tried that.
It may or may not. Some things are very specific to Internet Explorer capabilities.
So is it true to say that any given website might be written JUST for a specific browser?
    That's correct.
