Facebook notification/email won't delete. Solutions?

I've tried:
-rebooting
-reinstalling
-marking as prior to and deleting
-changing settings and clearing cache
-selecting it and deleting
-going into desktop manager and clearing the message file
-deleting the message in facebook from actual computer terminal
I'm at a total loss. Admittedly I am a Blackberry n00b so any advice is useful at this point.

I am having that same issue; I did not reinstall but have tried all the suggestions otherwise and it still comes back! SO FRUSTRATING! I do hope someone comes up with a solution here, ugh.

Can I hide the Facebook notification emails?

It's my understanding that the Blackberry Facebook application will not simply push the notifications through like every other phone manufacturer. Instead, it uses the email notification from facebook to my email account for updates. The thing that is really annoying about this is that every day I have to delete hundreds of emails from facebook that clutter up my inbox just so I an get updates on my phone.
Is there ANY way to hide these emails so I don't have to deal with them? It seems like there has got to be another way to do this. The iPhone and Android don't use email for facebook notifications. What's the deal?

Open your Facebok application > Menu > Options > UNcheck Blackberry Message application.
And SAVE.

My email was set up this way already on my iPhone and it didn't fix the "won't delete" problem. Again the issue is that it worked fine in all of the previous versions of the iPhone software, but something has changed in 2.2 that won't allow deletes on the iPhone, even with .mac mail. What has changed?

Try restarting your iPod by holding down the on/off and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, if that don't work try double clicking your home button to open your multi-task window hold you finger on the first app until it start to wiggle and the red minus sign shows up in the left corner tap the red minus sign to close all of your open programs.

Outgoing email blocking other emails, won't delete

I have an email in my outbox, that won't send, open or delete and it is blocking all the other outgoing emails I have! Once I click on it to do anything the activity viewer just spins and spins, doesn't time out, and I have to force quit Mail. There is no attachment, the email is blank (or won't load when I click on it), and the size says 1.1MB. What can I do?

Try deleting it from the hard drive directly -- it should be in:
~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Outbox.mbox/Messages
If not, you may have to get more creative. Backup your Mailbox folder and possibly Mail preferences before doing anything creative, though.

Droid X Emails Won't delete from GMail server

I have tried to go to Menu and settings and find a way to have my gmail emails deleted from the gmail servers after I delete them on my phone.
Can anyone point me to the direction of an existing solution or can advise?

Yes it is my Gmail account. What i found I need to do to ensure that when I delete the emails from my phone they delete from the server is to, on the Droid X:
1) My Accounts, find gmail account and select it.
2) check the box 'sync gmail'
Then it clears the server.

My email won't delete off my phone. It just keeps reloading back on. How do I get it to stop?

I delete the emails and then they just reload back on. I use a PC on my IPhone 3GS. I use Outlook. Need help please? This happened after I upgraded to IOS5. Help please?

A couple of things to check:
Go to settings, general, use side switch. Is it set for rotation lock or mute? If mute, slide the side switch the other direction.
Double tap the home button, slide the task tray to the right, check the volume level there and the rotation lock icon on the left.

Emails won't delete or mark as read

One of my IMAP gmail boxes is behaving strangely. The blue unread mark does not go away after looking at a message, and messages cannot be deleted. This suddenly started out of nowhere, and is not affecting my other IMAP gmail boxes that are set up identically. If I disable the account and make a new account for the same gmail address, it works fine, but doesn't have my old email in it. If I try to copy something into the inbox, it gives an error saying the mailbox is read-only. The rebuild mailbox option is greyed out. I deleted the envelope index, which induced something like a rebuild for all my mailboxes. After an hour of redownloading mail from the gmail server, everything was marked read, but new mail stays unread. The same account accessed from my iPhone or the web behaves normally, so it's clearly something wrong on my machine. I'm using Mail Version 3.5 (929.4/929.2) How do I get this (my main) mailbox to start behaving properly again?

I'm having many of these same issues. If I read a message on my Ipod touch or on my gmail web interface, it shows as "new" in my apple mail program still (it didn't use to, previous to a few days ago if I read something either of those 2 places it would mark it as read on my apple mail). I tried to sync the account and it didn't help.
Ideas? Why would this just start out of the blue, and why would it still show as read on my ipod and my gmail web interface but not on my computer...seems like a mail issue to me.

Emails won't delete in Gmail Account when I delete them on iPhone 5

I have recently upgraded to an iPhone 5, I previously had an iPhone 3G. On my old iPhone when I actioned anything in mail such as deleting an email or moving it to a folder when I logged into my PC onto my Gmail account the action had also happened there. It is now very frustrating that I move a lot of emails to the bin on my iPhone 5 but then when I get home to my PC and open my Gmail account all those emails are still sitting in the Inbox as unread. My Gmail account settings are set to IMAP. Can someone guide me through what I need to do to have both my iPhone 5 and gmail account sync actions?

She should restore the ipad to factory settings and then set up with her own apple id.

My email won't delete on my iphone

My email is synced to all my devices but I can only archive them on my phone, I want to delete them on all devices. How do I do this?

A couple of things to try.
Double tap your Home button and you will see a string of icons at the bottom of the screen. These are apps that you have recently used. Hold your finger on one of them until you see a small minus sign against each one. Go to each icon and touch it - they will disappear. When all icons are gone - touch the home button again.
Now try your e-mail again.
If that didn't work then delete your e-mail account from the phone and then re-add it. See if that fixes it.

Email won't delete due to unknown error

I upgraded to Windows 10, did not like it and returned to Windows 7. However, when I tried to delete emails, it refused to do so due to "unknown error" Used the normal error remedy by the book, but it did not work for me; still cannot delete emails.

5,210 emails: will not delete lion 10.7.2 Mail 5.1

This is getting ridiculous. I posted about this before with no help then
Now its up to 5210 email messages. I deleted the account in preferences and got the following message
I have no idea what this means. Tried to look up what a emlx file is with no luck. The email account is for all forum/board/facebook notifications, being I have deleted the emails from web mail a number of times completely as they arent important
So the account preferences are gone but the emails are somewhere
Anyone can help it would be appreciated its bugging me big time and my mail client is getting slow

EDIT: please try quitting Mail.app and restarting your Mac before considering what I wrote below. The procedure below assumes the email notifications are actually on your Mac. The error msg you're getting could just be a conflict between the database index and the folder contents.
First, quit Mail.app.
Click on Finder. Hold down the 'option' key while you click on the 'Go' menu in the Finder menubar. Keep the 'option' key held down, and choose 'Library' (you can let go of the option key now).
Navigate to ~/Library/Mail/Mailboxes/Deleted...
There may be more than one, but you'll soon find the one with 5000+ emlx's in it. Highlight the mailbox in Finder,
Open Terminal.app and paste this command (be careful not to include any extra space either before or after the selection)
sudo rm -rf
then press the SPACEBAR, then drag the mailbox from Finder into the Terminal window.
Press 'Return' on your keyboard.
Type in your password (it'll be invisible) and press 'Return' again.
When you're returned to the command prompt (should be quick) hold down the 'control' key and the 'c' key simultaneously.
Then quit Terminal. Restart Mail.app

Blackberry 8520 keeps repeatedly downloading the same email messages and facebook notifications

My Blackberry 8520 has all of a sudden started downloading the same email addresses and facebook notifications, that I have already read, I tried deleting them totally and also deleted from my computer inbox, but it just downloaded the next lot in my inbox repeatedly instead. Sometimes it says I have 50 unread messages, which is the same 7 or 8 messages over and over again, showing as unread.
I have rebooted device several times and don't know what else to do now, can anyone help please?

Have you changed the settings for messages on your account on the providers website?
(Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If that's not it try the following:
Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now.
You will get a verification message. Then go to email settings and send service books.
I would suggest logging into the carriers BIS site via PC if you can.
You will get an email per account. Repeat the battery pull and see if the problem is
resolved.

Facebook notifications while using seperate email folders?

I don't use the primary message folder because I like my emails seperate. When I get a Facebook notification via email, it would typically be intercepted by the FB app and would go to the location on the FB app (Like messages or notifications). This doesn't happen anymore when I hid the primary message folder and only used the individual email folders. Is there any way to fix this? It annoys the fact that I can't just quickly click on the folder and see what's up. Now I have to go to the Facebook app itself and look there.

Is that possible Facebook Notifications and email notifications on sleeping screen nokia 808 like it had on N9..
On my 808 it shows only msgs and miscalls....any fix??

not possible unless the app supports that behaviour. but email notifications and on notification lights has been broken on Symbian for a while, and as Symbian is in maintenance mode, is unlikely to see a fix, possibly ever.

I've had my blackberry bold 9700 since the 11th June. Since then i've had troubles reciving emails and facebook notifications. Sometimes they come though but not for a good 15 mins - 1 hour and sometimes they don't even come through at all! does anyone know what i need to do? i tried a new hanset still didnt do it, rang o2 they dont know as all settings are right their end.. anyone? thanks
