Facebook notification sound missing

My iphone 4 does not make a notification sound from facebook. My 3g on ios4 is still has it. All notification settings I can see have been set to on. Anyone else?

This has become kind of wide spread. A lot of people are continuing to blame it on the app, but with everything I have done to my phone I can't continue to think it is the app. Allow me to clarify a little. This happened to me about 3 days ago and it is still happening. I have reset, restored, cleared everything you can think of. I have checked all settings in app and on device. I have even gone as far as extracting older versions of facebook from my itune saves and downgraded the actual FB app. I started with FB v5... After all was said and done I have ended up with FB v3.1.2. Yeah went back pretty far. I would guess if it was an app issue that when an older working version was reinstalled that it shoud work, right? So I am starting to think it is a problem with IOS 5.1.1 communicating with FB. I am guessing it has something to do with the integration of FB in IOS 6. This is just my though. Could be wrong, but after trouble shooting for 3 days its the only logical explanation I can come up with. I would think now that apples forums are popping up with this problem pretty rapidly now that the ywould come out and say something. Knowing apple though they will just wait til the 19th, cross their fingers, and hope they don't have to deal with the masses.

  • Facebook Notification sounds off?

Hi al, another question from this newbie user.......is there a way to turn the sound off for Facebook notifications, but keep it on for text messages? I was able to do that with my old HTC phone and it was great. With this one, my phone keeps buzzing and I think it's a text, but it's a Facebook one. I really only want to hear the beeps for texts and voicemals...is there a way to do this?

  • Facebook notification sound?

    Hi everybody,
I want to ask if it is possible to get an notification sound for the notifications on facebook.. Also for new e-mails when I connect via wifi.. I am using 5800..
I tried to search for it but couldn't find it..  Thanks..

Thank you very much.. I will ask one more question: What do I need to write on that part 'sync e-mail databese'?  I am sorry about my English

You have to sync manually because you are using wifi. If you make it sync automatically, then the email app would automatically use mobile internet once you are out of range of wifi, meaning it will cost you internet connection charges from your operator.

    HI,
For most apps the Alert Sounds are played by System Preferences > Sound Sound Effects where the volume needs to be high enough.

  • How to turn off Facebook Notification Sounds?

I just discovered that I cannot turn off Sounds for Facebook integration in Notification Centre on Mountain Lion.
All the other services I use - Photo Stream, Messages, Reminders, etc. - have three options to check off. "Show in Notification Centre," "Badge app icon," and "Play sound when receiving notifications." I have the third option unchecked for all services, but Facebook does not even display this option. Yet, in the sidebar, I can see that "Badges, Sounds, Banners" are enabled under Facebook.
Why does Facebook appear to offer more restricted integration options?

Have you looked in the settings and notifications and turned it off there?

  • Facebook notifications SETTINGS missing

I am unable to check my notifications settings on the Facebook application. I log in and go to Account Settings --> Notifications, and the page is BLANK. I have tried seemingly everything: logging off, deleting the app, shutting down the phone, etc etc. Nothing has seemed to work.
I have an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.0.1.

First post ever and felt the need to help you out. Had the same annoying problem. Plug it into your computer. Go to your itunes, iphphone apps and play around with the sync of Facebook. I unclicked FB then clicked and sync'd it. Not really sure what I did, but it worked. Hope this helps. Good luck

  • Q5 SMS Notification sounds - missing a setting?

Hi All I just got a new Q5 and I'm really happy with it after my faithful bold 9900 finally gave up the ghost. I have one issue that I can't resolve and hope you guys can help.  I have managed to change the setting for notifications fine and customised to my liking.  However, when I get a new SMS the sound plays once and it vibrates 3 times as I've set it to do.  On my bold, I could also select how many times the sound should play and I used to set it at 3 so I could definitely stand a chance of hearing it in a noisy environment.  The option for number of sound plays seems to have disappeared (or I'm not going to the right place).  Does anyone know if this is still available? Thanks in advance.

That's not available on BlackBerry 10 OS, but you can select a longer notification tone...

  • Facebook notification doesn't sound

When I receive a Facebook notification my iPhone 5 with iOS6 doesn't play any sound.
In phone settings all sounds (and notification sounds) are enabled.
    It's a iOS6 problem ?
    It's a Facebook App problem ?
What have I do to enable this sound ?

Hey Guys !! I had been having the same problem .. My facebook notifications sounds were not working however every other sound is perfectly working including FB Messenger app. Here is what i did to resolve the issue.
    1. Uninstall the Facebook app.
    2. Uninstall the FB Messenger app.
    3. Goto Settings --> Facebook --> Remove your login details.
    4. Now press Install Button within Facebook setting screen to Install the Facebook app again.
Let the installation to complete before proceeding to next step.
    5. Maintain your login credentials within the Facebook setting screen.
This will pop up the screen showing you the tips about facebook and iOS integrations.
    6. Now goto Settings --> Notifications --> Facebook and Turn On "Sounds".
This must resolve the Facebook Notification sound issues. Once checked you may continue installing the FB Messenger app again and maintain its settings in Settings --> Notifications --> Messenger

  • TS1702 iPhone 4s Facebook Notification alert Sound is not Working anymore???

I am using Apple iPhone 4s, 5.1.1, recently I noticed that the notifications which I am receiving on facebook the sound is missing there, Before there was a sound on each and every notification of facebook, I tried to Uninstall the Facebook application from My Smart Phone, then restart the Phone, again re-installed but the issue is same, the Notification sound for Facebook is not ringing,
I checked all the settings and they all are ok.
I surfed the Web and somewhere found to deavtivate the facebook account and reactivate the account but that also didn't helped to Me, then I checked My account on the I-Pad, it didn't worked there as well, I used My friends facebook account on My Phone the Notification started to ring, I am not getting whats wrong, Can anyone Help Me Out this Problem???
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi AppleUser543210,
If you are having issues with your iPad's notification alert sounds not functioning, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPad -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPad as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
