Facebook only displays text in any browser

For the last two weeks, whenever I go to Facebook (https://www.facebook.com) all is see is a plain text page with a thumbnail of my profile picture. This happens whether I'm using Safari, Firefox or Chrome, so it's not a browser issue. Facebook still displays fine on my iPhone and iPad, and on other computers. This is driving me crazy because I can't find a fix for it.
I've tried clearing the caches - no difference. All other websites appear normally.
I have a 15"  Macbook Pro (mid-2010) with OS X 10.9.2.
Please let me know if you have any ideas on how to fix this.

fMobi is a great app available in the Nokia Store that performs all of the Facebook functions. have used it on my N8 and it works great

  • MSN only displays text. Firefox IE both. Rebooting router/modems corrects the problem for awhile.

Everything runs great for a few weeks and the right out of the blue MSN home page only displays partial imiages and the rest of the imiages display text only. Rebooting the modem and router and desk top corrects the problem for a couple of weeks. Help.

Something that only occurs every few weeks is going to be hard to debug.
Next time it happens, could you try reloading the page bypassing cached pages? You can do that using Ctrl+Shift+r to force a full reload from the server. If that works, then most likely some files in Firefox's cache became corrupted.
Not sure why you would simultaneously have the same issue in IE, though. Hmmm...

  • Facebook won't load on any browser

I've seen a lot of people posting since 2009 that they've had this issue but I've yet to see an answer that's worked for me.  Facebook won't load on ANY of the browsers so cookies and cache won't help. When I log out of the Mac and log back in I can get into Facebook for a while so it's not a configuration issue.  I CAN log into facebook through IE on the parallels section.  This started about three months ago for me.

Did you look at any of the "More Like This" on the right side of the screen? I don't know if they hold the answers for you, but some may be worth taking a peek.
The usual answer seems to be 'clear your cache' but, as you've done that, it doesn't seem the answer to your problem. When you say 'all browsers' I assume that you mean Firefox, Chrome and Safari? I run Firefox almost exclusively, only using Safari and Chrome for testing purposes and I've tried all three and can't replicate your problem. I don't think that uninstalling Adobe Flash is the answer (and, as it is ubiquitous, it's really a necessary evil).
Try an app such as Onyx to make sure that everything is actually cleared. If that doesn't help, ring back.
BTW - is this occurring only when you try to log in to Facebook?

  • No Cursor In Text Field - any browser

I'm fairly new to actionscripting and this forum. I'm not
sure if this is the right place to post, but it has to do with
    posting data from a form.
I have come across an odd and very frustrating phenomenon
with a simple flash form. The text fields do not show the blinking
cursor or the text being entered, but when submitted, the email
    shows all text entered.
The form is an external movie being loaded into a mc -- I'm
sure this is the problem, but it should be possible no?
Here's the thing -- I have tested the form on it's own and it
works fine. I have also tested it being loaded into a loader
component and it works fine. (see both examples here:
    http://www.heymisterdj.com/contact.htm
But in the main movie, swf, the text fields just won't show
    text.
(see here - click on Contact -

    Any ideas?
I don't know if it will help but I have included the AS for
    the contact button here.

If you click on the page header (page definition - edit attributes button in v2.0) and then under the display attributes section you will find a focus cursor select list.

  • Ctrl+C+C deletes text in any Browser but...

Don't know for what reason, but Ctrl+C+C that I've bound to copy the text and translate it via Goldendict seems to delete any deletable text in all other browsers except Chrome or Chromium, (Firefox and Opera works ok too).
Midori or any other Webkit derivative deletes the word when I hit Ctrl+C+C.
I understand that Goldendict can be the reason for not correctly working with those, but I need somebody's opinion on that issue.
If anybody have an idea why this occurs?

You can check the connection settings.
    *Tools > Options > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.

  • TV-Out only displays text / not graphics

    I have a K7N2G-L motherboard with tv-out.
When I try to setup my system to output video through the tv-out encoder I'm unable to select the TV out option under the properties dialog on the desktop for the tv-out encoder.
The manual says I can do this!!!
Why isn't the TV out available for selection???
    I'm using WindowsME.
I know the tv-out is working because I can see the BIOS boot screen but as soon as windows switches to graphics mode the tv-out seems to turn off.
    Any ideas???
    Thank you in advance.

right click on the desktop and go to properties and then advanced.
then go to the gfx card.
    and then choose clone screen.
that should do it BUT it could be the device you connected it to that dont work.

  • Why does LeanPrint offer only "Conventional Printing" in any internet browser?

I am using LeanPrint on a brand new and very well-endowed Windows 7, 64-bit PC with tons of RAM and other resources. I am wondering why LeanPrint offers only "Conventional Printing" in any browser that I try it in. I have tried it in: Firefox 24, Chrome 30, and Internet Explorer 10. The inefficiency of printing from these browsers has always discouraged me from doing so, and I was attracted to LeanPrint primarily because of this. Thanks for your attention to this question.

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
It seems that the browser plugin for LeanPrint is currently disabled.  Please follow the below steps to enable the LeanPrint plugin as per the browser you are using:
In Internet Explorer, do the following:
    Select View > Toolbars.
If Adobe LeanPrint is not selected, click Adobe LeanPrint to select it.
Click Enable in the Enable Add-on dialog box. A new toolbar with the icon LeanPrint is displayed.
    In Firefox, do the following:
Select View > Toolbars > Customize.
Select the Adobe LeanPrint icon and then drag and drop it to your desired location on the Toolbar.
    In Chrome, do the following:
Select Wrench menu > Tools > Extensions.
Select the Adobe LeanPrint icon and click the check-box to Enable it.
    Reopen the browser.
I would also suggest you to install any available updates for Adobe LeanPrint by following the below steps:
Click Start > All Programs > Adobe LeanPrint > My Savings.
Now at the top right corner, click on the icon  and then click “Check for Updates” and install all available updates.
Please also check if Adobe LeanPrint is available in other applications like Microsoft Word/Excel etc. and if it allow you to print using LeanPrint.
Please try the above suggestions and let me know if they help in fixing the issue when trying to print from browser.
    Regards,
    Sharad

  • Ad blocker & Firefox cause Facebook to display weird. Can I go back to ver 5.??

The newest ver of Firefox and the latest ver of Ad-Blocker are causing Facebook to display incorrectly. Facebook only displays right when Ad-Blocker is disabled. How can this be corrected or how do I go back to Firefox ver 5.??

You can disable AdBlocker for one or selected sites and leave it enabled for everything else.
*When on the affected page, click the ABP icon and choose "Disable on xxxx" (whole site, i.e. "facebook.com") or "Disable on this page only" (current '''''page''''' only).
*It is such a minor issue that I do not see how that would justify downgrading your browser.
Firefox 5 is no longer an option because Firefox 6 preceded it and there are unfixed security issues in Firefox 5 that have not and will not be fixed.
The only supported and updated versions are Firefox 6.0 and Firefox 3.6.20.

Does not relate to your question, but...
You have multiple old Java Console extensions that Java did not clean-up during updates. You need Java Console only if you do Java programming/development or debug Java applets on web pages. You can see them in Add-ons > Extensions, '''''but you can not remove them from there'''''. Removing them will not affect the functioning of Java on websites. You can '''''manually''''' remove them, '''''if you do not do Java development work''''' to avoid future, possible problems/conflicts:

  • Javascript not working in any browser.

    Javascript has stopped working in any browser. Javascript is turned on in all browsers preferences. I have repaired disk permisions. An example of it not working is trying to view a BBC iplayer program online. When trying to play a program I get the message;
"To play or download (the program) - you need to enable JavaScript".
Infact none of the other iplayer website functions work either. I'm not sure if javascript isn't working on other websites as I'm not sure how to tell. This has been like this for quite some time and I've not found any solutions searching on the net.
    Thanks

Have similar problem. Any javascript that I code in Espresso or BBedit does not display properly in any browser on my MBP 2009. Tried different browsers and settings but without satisfactory results. appreciate any help since any web page coding must be done on my pc or in bootcamp.

  • Spry Menu Text only displays in hover color, doesn't sense browser edge

I have a Spry horizontal menu in a website that is working fairly well in everything except IE6.  Firefox, Safari, and IE7 are all fine.
In IE6, random menu items only display in the blue hover color, so they are invisible until you hover over them.
My second problem is that the menu is right-aligned, and the button on the far right has three submenus.  I would like the second two submenus to automatically open to the left of the first submenu when opening to the right would cause them to be cut off by the edge of the browser window.  How do I do this??
Here is my code (I've customized it with suggestions online, but just can't seem to fix the problem with IE6).

  • New to Macs just purchased a 27-inch: 2.7GHz mac when I open e.g my company website or facebook it only displays centre of the screen How do I set it up show full screeen also the bar at the top is hard to read as so small can this be increased, ??

Hi I need some help please as above I have just purchased my first mac 27" and as much I love it as a newbie im having some teething troubles, when say Facebook or my company website is displayed it is only displayed in the centre of the screen I know I can zoom in and out but that doesnt look great and dont want to have to that on each page display, how do i fix this please.
Also the toolbar at the top of the page is so small and hard to read is there a way to increase and fix the size
    Thanks for your help

For the browser window, just drag it to the top left of the screen (click and hold on the top bar with the traffic lights to drag), then in the bottom right of the window you'll see a rectangle with diagonal hatching. Click and hold on that and drag the window to the size you want.
Clicking on the green dot at top left will expand the window to fit the screen, clicking it again will shrink it back to where it was (this doesn't work in Finder windows quite the same).
The menu bar size is set in the bowels of the OS, though there may be third-party applications which can alter it.
As it's size is relative to the screen resolution, you could try reducing the resolution in System Preferences > Displays to see if that would suit you better.
