Facebook Picture upload title issue

I have searched the forums and have not found much on this topic so here goes! When you upload a picture from iphoto using the Facebook feature, why does it put the name of the photo in the title bar? So if my picture just came off my digi cam its title is like IMG001.jpg. That is what shows up in the title bar of facebook. So it looks to my friends like I uploaded this picture then put in the caption the name of the file? Quite annoying! Anyone know any info that they might share?

This is one of the things I like least with iPhoto'09's implementation of the Facebook uploader. For what I do, I HAVE to keep the camera names in the Title field. I deal with many thousands of photos, and I don't really have the option of just moving them elsewhere (such as to a different field).

This is different than the built-in version Apple did. In the Facebook version they get the description/title fields CORRECT. They probably asked a real photographer what would work best, whereas Apple may have asked a chimpanzee, as their way of doing it makes no sense at all.
In Facebook a "caption" can be placed under any photo. The Facebook Exporter uses your "description" field for this, which is exactly what should be done. The iPhoto Facebook Uploader uses the "title" for this, which makes no sense at all, considering that the only "title" in Facebook Albums is the actual album name.
Regardless, it's a huge disappointment for me. I need to keep my camera-created "titles" in iPhoto just the way they are (otherwise I'd have an inventory nightmare on my hands). So I'm stuck.
I'm not sure if the Facebook Exporter works with iPhoto'09 (it does with previous versions) but I think I'm going to give it a try. Sure, I'll lose the automatic syncing and updating and the automatic face-tagging... but I don't really have a choice if I want any kind of captions to appear on Facebook at all.
Why can't Apple just correct this so we can move on??

Facebook picture upload is always 90 off

regardless of the camera orientation, everytime i pick up a pictre from my gallery or if i use the upload picture and use the camera directly, the picture is always displayed 90 degrees off!

Sorry to hear about your issue.
Are these pictures stored on the media card or on the device memory? Have you tried un-installing and reinstalling the Facebook application?

Facebook pictures uploaded from iPhoto get displayed in low resolution on mac browsers

... but is otherwise fine on PC version of the browsers.
When viewing facebook photos on Safari (or Chrome, or Firefox) on Mac, photos uploaded using iPhoto get displayed in low res. Manually uploaded (through facebook upload tool) photos are displayed ok.

Thank so much for your reply. That portion I comfortable with, but was thinking I could take photos with my mobile phone and have them sync to a folder on my PC as my originals. I dont want to download photo's from my phone. It does work as desired exept the fact that the photos resolution is lower on the PC than the "originals" on the Revel website.
If I right click on the photo in PE and select "download original from revel" it works, but sort of defeats it purpose in my case.
It seems like Photoshop is not importing the pic at the original resolution. ie to me I would expect a "import original resolution" inside photoshop.
I am using PE12.
I dont like to compare PE revel to apple iCloud, but this is how their software works. If I take a photo on my iPhone its on my mac in full res within minutes to do with as I please. This is what I was thinking Revel could do for me and more. Dropbox, Onedrive and Googledrive all support this, but then I have to import it into PE.

Facebook Notifications & uploading pictures

I've noticed since i updated to version 4.1, I have not been able to receive any notifications for Facebook or upload pics to my facebook page. And i have already uninstalled & installed FB on to my iphone 4.

Bugs in Facebook should be directed to Facebook as they are the ones that make the app. As for notifications, they are never instant and can get backlogged for such a huge site such as Facebook.
As for uploading pics, just today they posted an update to Facebook app addressing some photo uploading bugs.

The enhanced picture uploaded for ebay is not visible in Firefox but is in IE

I sell on ebay and like using the enhanced picture uploader. I still able to use this uploader on IE but Firefox does not even allow ebay to show it as an option. I am very new to Firefox so I am certain it is a setting I need to change. Any and all assistance is very much appreciated.

How to retrieve Facebook pictures when I deleted them from iPhoto?

Hi. I'm new to Mac and not very techy. Anyway, I synced my Facebook account to iPhoto and for some reason, I thought that iPhoto was just a back up of my facebook photos. I deleted the facebook pictures on iPhoto and now, I have lost all of my Facebook albums. Is there any way I can retrieve my Facebook Albums? They were 5 years worth of memories.

REstore you backujp of the iPhoto library form before you did this
and if you want photos only on Facebook then do not use iPhoto to upload them - iPhoto as documented does a two way sync with FB and any chnage made on FB or on iPhoto is syn=ced to the other platform

30/30 UPLOAD SPEED ISSUE

I am having upload speed issues.... I have spent over 3 hours with Verizon Tech on the phone/and or computer (optimizing, etc.), replaced the router twice; had two techs come out to the house to check the box and speed entering the house (everything checked out just fine)... it is very frustrating because I am unable to upload any pictures, etc. to any application or site (shutterfly, yahoo email, etc.) Verizon is baffled and can not figure the issue out, because the line coming into the house and the lines in the house test out fine. It is not my computer...cause they used there own outside on the line and could not upload. I even had billing remove internet service from my package and reinstate to see if we could jolt a circuit from Verizon (on-site tech recommended) He thought it may be some sort of programming with my profile... Any help or ideas would be appreciated! What else can I do? Should I replace the outside box anyway? Here is what I am getting, although sometimes the upload speed says anywhere from 0.68-3.82Mb/s:

Is that on a hardwired connection with only the actiontec in the picture?
if so then yes - something is definetely going on, if they haven't tried a new router then that is one step, possibly a bad Network terminal, or further up on their end like described to you by the tech.

Facebook pictures and Instagram not loading when on WIFI.

I've been having the strangest problem where Facebook pictures and Instagram posts will not load when im connected to wifi. I have an iPhone 6 and my girlfriend has a 5S and we're both experiencing the same issue. It's not a constant problem, kind of comes and goes. I've reinstalled the app, restarted my phone, restored my router and nothing seems to fix the problem.
Any ideas as to what may be happening? Thanks for any help.

The issue is your router, if you both can't use your phone while on wifi.

Picture Upload only works in IE

I created a picture upload routine to allow users to store their picture in the DB. The routine works fine in IE, but not in any other browsers. Am I missing something? Here is what I did:

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
