Facebook plug in freezing up

Hello
When I try and authorize on the facebook plug in it goes to my facebook page, I give permission, it goes back to the facebook authorize page and then sits there, it says authorizing for hours and nothing happens. I went to facebook account settings and LR isn't in there.
Can I uninstall and reinstall the plug-in for facebook?
thanks
greg

Since no one responded to this question I assume no one knew the answer. I called Adobe tech support. This plug in only works with IE and I use Chrome so here is the solution
1) Go to Control Panel
2) Type in on top right corner under search the word Default
3) Another screen pops up under Default Programs click Set Your Default Programs
4) Set IE as your default program
5) Open IE and under internet options delete all browsing history this includes everything including docs, passwords etc.
6) Now go back to LR and the Publish Manager and do what you usually do.
This resolved my problem, I was authorized as usual.

Yes this does happen, depending on the surface on which it falls.

  • Why isn't Facebook plug-in share button on Mountain Lion?

Okay, so I just downloaded Mountain Lion on my Macbook Pro OS X 10.8 and I wanted to use the share feature it shows on the video, I signed in in Twitter and everything's fine but there is no Facebook option... I can't use the facebook 'plug-in' because there is none.
    Help please!

Apple hasnt released the Facebook plugin yet. The Apple documentation said it would be available in the fall.

  • Why does my Facebook app keep freezing?

My Facebook app keeps freezing.  Right now it has been frozen for three days.  Any suggestions?

Double click the home button.  That brings up the app tray.  Press and hold the Facebook app until it wiggles.  Click the "x" - that shuts it down.  Then try opening it again.

  • Reinstall the Facebook plug-in

how do i reinstall the facebook plug-in for lightroom 4

Did you delete the plug-in file off the hard drive? Normally, you can't remove the Facebook plug-in from within Lightroom itself. If you've deleted the file and emptied the trash, you basically have to uninstall and reinstall the application to get that file back.

'''Try Firefox Safe Mode''' to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)''
    * You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the '''Shift''' key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or open the Help menu and click on the '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' menu item while Firefox is running.
''Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"''
'''''If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article for that.
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.''
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
    * [[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
    * [[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

  • After installing last update of CC why are my plug-in freezing Photoshop?

I have just installed the latest update of CC and some how Adobe Cloud two days ago.  Since that time I my plug-in bundles OnOne and Nik freeze up Photoshop.  The only way to get out of PS is to go under the Task Manager and shut them down.  I even reinstalled OnOne initially thinking it was a connection problem between PS and OnOne.  It still didn't help.  What is going on?

I don't see any anwers to your other question http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1449539 and I don't know that I can help very much
But... have you checked with those plug-in vendors to see if they have any problem reports... and a solution?

  • Adobe Flashplayer plug-in freezes Mozilla Firefox whenever activated.

I am entirely unable to ever watch a video in Firefox which requires the Adobe Flashplayer plug-in. In fact, IF I activate the plug-in, Firefox goes into a "not responding" mode, which never ends. I DO, after anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes get a script quit responding message, but regardless of how I answer it, another freeze (or the same one) occurs, and after another interminable wait, I get a repeat message. This happens so many times I've left it to run more than 12 hours, then checked it, to find the message windows stacked. When I cleared the last of 20+ windows at the end of the 12 hours, I immediately got another freeze. The only fix to date has been to kill Firefox, either from the Task Manager, or from the "red X, and kill it now instead of waiting" options. Then, on restart, I have to get quickly to the add-ons page, and re-disable Adobe.
The version of Firefox I'm running is 35.0.1
The version of Adobe I'm running is Shockwave Flash 16.0.0.305.
I ran, over the space of 20 hours, several malware hunters (malware bytes, Microsoft System Security, AVG, AVAST, Spybot S&D, and others I can't remember now) with several issues found and cured. None, though, fixed this.
My machine is an ACER Aspire 5732Z, running Windows 7, 64-bit. This problem cropped up about 2 months or less ago. I'm wondering if it is related to the latest version of Shockwave, and possibly occurred after a(n automatic) update.

  • Facebook plug in missing

If im chatting on facebook every time the other user replies a pop up window comes up and says the safari cannot find the right plug-in. I click OK, im still able to view & respond, however, this shouldn't happen every single time!
So is there a download that I should get or is apple, working on this with other bug fixes?

The plugin its missing is the one to make the little sound when people chat back. If you turn the sound off from the chat menu the message wont show up, it doesnt even make a sound so why have it on.

  • Facebook Video Calling freezes web cam

I am facing an issue when placing video calls via facebook either on Safari or Chrome ( I haven't tried other browsers). The problem is that when I place the call, I can see my own image (video) on the top right corner (small window), but I can't see the other person's video on the big window. Everything freezes by the time the person I am calling accepts the call. The problem does not happen when I place a call on Skype.
If anyone knows how to solve the problem, I'd really appreciate.
    Regards,
    Diego

    HI,
There is or was a setting at Facebook that was need to be set for "other" Browsers.
It seemed to allow Logins from a different computer such as a Library and Internet cafe service.
It also seemed to be needed for app like iChat and Messages to also be able to log in.

  • Plug in freezes

FF just freezes, no error msg, nothing, the only way I can get out of it is to bring up task manager and stop FF, which closes all tabs.
    This sucks.
I noticed the plug in and FF are way larger mem usage than anything else in Task Manager....
Uninstalled and reinstalled FF no change
I have started using Chrome and zero issues, I have been using FF for decades and want to resolve this and continue using it....
    Jim

If you let it sit for 5 minutes, do you ever get a pop-up message indicating that script is running slowly and offering the opportunity to Stop or Continue?
Since the most commonly used plugin is the Flash player, I'll suggest some approaches related to that first. This is some standard guidance that addresses the most common issues. I'm sure you've seen some of it before, but just in case:
    (1) If you have installed any recorders/downloaders that interact with Flash media, make sure they are as up-to-date as possible, or disable them temporarily.
    (2) Disable hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and in Flash
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe -- if you can't do this without freezing, skip to #3: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    (3) Disable protected mode -- might not be relevant to Windows XP
See this support article from Adobe under the heading "Last Resort": [http://forums.adobe.com/message/4468493#TemporaryWorkaround Adobe Forums: How do I troubleshoot Flash Player's protected mode for Firefox?]
