Facebook redirecting to another site.

I'm getting redirected to another website from Facebook. Malware problem? My MacBook Pro is about a year old and software is updated. Not sure how to deal with malware on a Mac.

Using Open DNS is the simplest way of preventing infection in the first place. Open DNS also protects against phishing attacks, re-directs, speeds up your internet connection, and works for all users of OS X from Tiger upwards:

  • Links in facebook redirecting to phone site

    I have chared a link on facebook to promote my company site. When i clicked it on my desktop the page opened fine. When I clicked a link within the page it redirected to the phone site. I checked and double checked and the links were good.
    I tried it in chrome and it worked fine. But safari seems to be choosing the phone site for every link.
    Any suggestions where I should start looking? The first time I uploaded my site it was with the wrong link to the phone site. But after this is corrected safari still seems to get it wrong.

    Hey
    thanks! I think it was a cache issue with my first wrong link to the mobile website. I was really sweating my pants of. Thanks again!

    Hi Johannes,
    Even on Safari (6.0.5) clicking on the gif or logo at bottom, it takes me to http://www.mozesmedia.be/index.html which is the desktop version.
    Have you tried clearing Safari cache or resetting your Safari or tried on Safari in a different machine?
    Cheers,

  • When using the google search button my queries are always redirected to another site, and not google as indicated as my preferred search engine.

    I have to open up an Internet Explorer browser when I try to to a search for anything. Even though I've selected google as my default search engine, I still get redirected to some random site. It's useless. I would like to use Firefox all the time, but I cannot do so.

    Do a malware check with some malware scan programs. You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.

  • Redirecting to another site

    Hi,
    sorry for my bad english but I'm german and didn't found a other forum.
    I was changing from one site to another site as a strange website wrote that my flash player is to old and I have to update it.
    In the same moment as the website was loaded, a download was started.
    Could it be that the site was a kind of a "fake"?
    I have a link:

  • Address bar redirects to another site..?

    in the address bar where you type in the "http//"-address i usually just type like: "google" and firefox automatically adds the "http//" and ".com/.se/.net" prefix and domain.
    But, recently i have installed a software for downloading torrent-like files... and now when i write (in the address-bar) only "google" firefox just takes me to the site:
    "http://www.toggle.com/sv/index.php?rvs=hompaggoogle"
    this is really frustrating since i'm used to just write the site name, and normally don't have to type in the domain name. But now i have to type "google.com" instead of just "google" as before.
    please someone help me... is it just a setting i have overlooked or might it even be a malware/spyware/virus??? :(
    thanks! :)

    Hi,
    Please see [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Searches%20are%20redirected%20to%20another%20site this].

  • I'm not sure if this is a Firefox issue, but in the last week or so, whenever I do a search on Google or Bing, when I click on one of the results, I get redirected to a site like Tazinga!, instead of taking me to my destination.

    For example, I did a search on Google for :
    "resume have summary and objective - Google Search"
    It returned several options. I clicked on :
    "Summary and Objective statements | Magic Pot of Jobs (http://www.magicpotofjobs.com/2005/07/30/summary-and-objective-statements/)
    And instead ended up at:
    http://www.gimmeanswers.net/search/v5_1/searchabc.php?search=Resume+Have+Summary+And+Objective&affiliate=mx1-33371
    This has been occurring with almost every search I do.

  • Audio not working when on apps, I.e Facebook when directed to another site and snapchat..any ideas?

    Please help..not sure what to do. I think I have a fault with the audio on my iPad. It works fine generally, when playing music and getting alerts etc but when I'm using an app such as snapchat, never had audio on the videos and also when using Facebook, if I click on a video that directs me to another site, the audio stops working then too

    H gave you the right answer BUT he didn't explain it very well!  I never "backed up" or "restored", so I wouldn't know what he was talking about either!  But now I do:
    If your Apps keep closing (linked with or without Facebook): Go to a desktop or Laptop computer only and log on  to iTunes and delete the App (like Jackpot Party.) that keeps crashing.
    Then you have to plug in the device you are using that the apps crash on and use iTunes to restore your iOS device back to factory settings.  ( After you sync and back up your device to iTunes!)
    Instructions are here on how to sync, backup and restore your mobile device (ipad, iphone, ipod, etc):
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
    After restore, go to iTunes store and download the App again ( if it was a game, all levels/coins will still be there!)
    I tried everything else, this is the only thing that worked! And it worked great!!

  • How to send data to another site, get response, redirect and get new response

    Dear all,
    I've to write a Java EE application that have to become an interface to a payment platform. The protocol require to send a POST string containing some information (including an error and response page) to an external host, get the response and redirect the user to another host using the previous response. When the user ends the transaction the host redirect the user to my error or response page.
    For the moment my user access to my application using glassfish REALM authentication. After that I write the following code:
    public void paymentPrepare() throws UnsupportedEncodingException, IOException {
       String postUrl = "https://test.payment.test/init/http";
       HttpPost postRequest = new HttpPost(postUrl);
       String id = "99999999";
       String password = "99999999";
       String action = "4";
       String amt = "1.00";
       String currencycode = "978";
       String langid = "ENG";
       String responseurl = "http://myhost:8080/EMBOWorkshop/secure/response.xhtml";
       String errorurl = "http://myhost:8080/EMBOWorkshop/secure/error.xhtml";
      trackid = "TRCK0001";
      udf1 = "Descrizione";
       StringEntity postParamsEntity = new StringEntity("id=" + id
       + "&password=" + password
       + "&action=" + action
       + "&amt=" + amt
       + "&currencycode=" + currencycode
       + "&langid=" + langid
       + "&responseurl=" + responseurl
       + "&errorurl" + errorurl
       + "&trackid" + trackid
       + "&udf1" + udf1);
      postParamsEntity.setContentType("application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
      postRequest.setEntity(postParamsEntity);
       DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient();
       // Execute the HTTP POST
       System.out.println("Executing HTTP Post...\n");
       HttpResponse response = httpClient.execute(postRequest);
       // Check the HTTP status of the post.
       if (response.getStatusLine().getStatusCode() != 200 && response.getStatusLine().getStatusCode() != 201) {
       throw new RuntimeException("Failed: HTTP error code: "
       + response.getStatusLine().getStatusCode());
       // Create a reader to read in the HTTP post results.
       BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(
       new InputStreamReader((response.getEntity().getContent())));
       // Read in all of the post results into a String.
       String output = "";
       Boolean keepGoing = true;
       while (keepGoing) {
       String currentLine = br.readLine();
       if (currentLine ==
    null) {
      keepGoing = false;
       } else {
      output += currentLine;
       System.out.println("Raw string result: \n" + output);
    The previous code works fine. I receive the response. But now I don't know how to continue. How can redirect the user to another site, and when the payment is finished, receive the response? Another question is, the user authenticate himself to access to the application. When the user will redirect to an external site, the glassfish session permits to get the response from the other host without require a new authentication?
    For the moment I don't know how to redirect the user, but I tried to write this method to obtain the last response:
      public void getResponse(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) {
      paymentId = request.getParameter("paymentid");
      result = request.getParameter("result");
      auth = request.getParameter("auth");
       ref = request.getParameter("ref");
      traind = request.getParameter("tranid");
      trackid = request.getParameter("trackid");
      udf1 = request.getParameter("udf1");
      responsecode = request.getParameter("responsecode");
    Is it correct?
    Thanks

    Now I'm able to redirect the user to the other page:
    ExternalContext externalContext = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext();
    externalContext.redirect("http://stackoverflow.com");
    Now the problem is: once the user has finished to pay, the other site redirect the user to my site using one of the two JSF page I prepared for error or response like the following:
    <?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' ?>
    <!DOCTYPE composition PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <ui:composition xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets"
                    template="./index.xhtml"
                    xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html"
                    xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core"
                    xmlns:rich="http://richfaces.org/rich"
                    xmlns:a4j="http://richfaces.org/a4j"
                    xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"
                    xmlns:fn="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/functions"
                    >
        <ui:define name="content">
            <center>
               An error occurred during  transaction
                #{participantBean.auth}<br />
                #{participantBean.responsecode}
            </center>
      </ui:define>
    </ui:composition>
    So, how can I get the GET parameters that the other host sent to me during the redirection?

    This type of behaviour can be caused by malware. Try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:
    * [http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Malwarebytes]
    * [http://www.superantispyware.com/ SUPERAntiSpyware]
    * [http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php Ad-Aware]

    This link may help - http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2010/02/remove-google-redirect-virus.html
    If the above malware scanners do not find any malware or can not clear it, you should consider posting in one of these forums for specialized malware removal help:

  • I click on link, for example story on ESPN I want to read, and I get redirected to another page, often ad site

    I own a MacBook Air.  On really any site I go to I click on a link and get redirected to another page, often an advertisement.  For example, I am on ESPN and want to click on a story, when I click on the link, a new page or tab opens up.  I have to x out to get to my story.  I use Google and Safari.  In Safari, I click on a story in ESPN and new page opens up as well.  Can any one help?

    There is no need to download anything to solve this problem. You may have installed a variant of the "VSearch" ad-injection malware. Follow Apple Support's instructions to remove it.
    If you have trouble following those instructions, see below.
    Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. This procedure works as of now, as far as I know. It may not work in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for a more recent discussion, or start a new one.
    The VSearch malware tries to hide itself by varying the names of the files it installs. To remove it, you must first identify the naming pattern.
    Triple-click the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons
    In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    A folder named "LaunchDaemons" may open. Look inside it for two files with names of the form
              com.something.daemon.plist
    and
               com.something.helper.plist
    Here something is a variable string of characters, which can be different in each case. So far it has always been a string of letters without punctuation, such as "cloud," "dot," "highway," "submarine," or "trusteddownloads." Sometimes it's a meaningless string such as "e8dec5ae7fc75c28" rather than a word. Sometimes the string is "apple," and then you must be especially careful not to delete the wrong files, because many built-in OS X files have similar names.
    If you find these files, leave the LaunchDaemons folder open, and open the following folder in the same way:
    /Library/LaunchAgents
    In this folder, there may be a file named
              com.something.agent.plist
    where the string something is the same as before.
    If you feel confident that you've identified the above files, back up all data, then drag just those three files—nothing else—to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Close the Finder windows and restart the computer.
    Don't delete the "LaunchAgents" or "LaunchDaemons" folder or anything else inside either one.
    The malware is now permanently inactivated, as long as you never reinstall it. You can stop here if you like, or you can remove two remaining components for the sake of completeness.
    Open this folder:
    /Library/Application Support
    If it has a subfolder named just
               something
    where something is the same string you saw before, drag that subfolder to the Trash and close the window.
    Don't delete the "Application Support" folder or anything else inside it.
    Finally, in this folder:
    /System/Library/Frameworks
    there may an item named exactly
                v.framework
    It's actually a folder, though it has a different icon than usual. This item always has the above name; it doesn't vary. Drag it to the Trash and close the window.
    Don't delete the "Frameworks" folder or anything else inside it.
    If you didn't find the files or you're not sure about the identification, post what you found.
    If in doubt, or if you have no backups, change nothing at all.
    The trouble may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
    This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
    In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
    Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
              Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
              Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.
