Facebook share button on iWeb

I created "like" button very easily using the Facebook developer tool. However, doing the same to get a "share" button does not seem so easy. I went again to Facebook developers tool and I found an example of a code... Should I just copy and past this example into an HTML fragment the same way I did it for the "like" button? For the "like' button, I had to chose iFrame. Is there a similar code that needs to be chosen for the "share" button?

The developers page provides two sample codes.
One is for an url you provide yourself, the other uses the url of the page with the code.
With the advanced code you have to take into account how iWeb creates it pages .

IWeb and Facebook Share Button

Hi,
I know people have asked about this issue, but I don't seem to be able to decipher any reasonable solutions..
I want to add the Facebook Share button to some of my iWeb pages. To do that I am using the HTML widget.. I know that because it's a widget within the iweb page etc etc it isn't going to work properly.
I read a different post with answers from Cyclosaurus, and he/she was able to look at the facebook code and make a minor adjustment to make it work in iWeb. However, that was a few years old and Facebook have now changed their code.
This is the code that facebook want you to copy and paste:

Does anyone (or hopefully Cyclosaurus if you are reading this), know how to make this work in iweb?

Thanks for that.. I had thought of just having an image and linking etc, but the Facebook share code gives me an option where it will place a counter to show how many people have shared the page etc.. I kind of like that concept for the pages the share button will be on so want to try to get it to work..
I know of the overlapping issue in iWeb that has even happened with simple text boxes and images in the past with my site.. It doesn't happen anymore, not sure what I did to rectify it back when it was happening.. Anyway, the share button is going to be on its own as i'm not wanting to use twitter, plus it's not going to be close to any page borders or other images, boxes etc to cause problems..
I'm still hoping someone out there knows a way to modify the code..

I use a Facebook logo and then encourage people to like the page. But I do have a couple of clients who have asked me to do this.

Facebook share button in web gallery

Is it possible somehow to add a facebook share button to the photos in the web gallery? I use the web module to create galleries of athletes - and I want to give them the possibilty to share their photo by clicking in the gallery instead of right click and "save as..."...

Need help with adding Facebook share button

I need to add a simple Facebook share button in the row of social share buttons at the bottom of the page http://www.ottawapatentagency.com I just need a simple button, I don't need any counts, nor any analytics. I tried to insert the code from the Facebook developers pages and follow the instructions, but I can't do it.
I am neither a Facebook developer nor a programmer, for that matter, help!

Once you have done that copy the code and paste it in your pages code, directly after the opening <body> tag.
Then add the <div> in which your Facebook share button will appear directly before your Google plus <div> (see below)

just upgraded to Mountain lion and noticed no Facebook share button in Safari. I have the Twitter share button, but not the Facebook one. Can I add it?

Iweb & facebook (share button)

Hi all,
I'm working on my blog and I found many scripts to add an icon facebook share and twitter. The problem is, when the page is shared, it's took the home page link, not the one where is the script. I would like also to have the picture of the page and a little resume or a part of the text...
Any Idea?

I had the same problem - the issue I found is that facebook have changed the widget generation process - hence doesn't work with iweb.
anyway - for those of you looking for a more concise facebook like widget, use this code:

Facebook "like" button on iWeb

Can someone help me figure out how to use iWeb to put a Facebook "like" button on my homepage? I don't have the newest version of iWeb.

Thanks. I just did this and it is drastically changing the height of the box. The size of the box is 300 px x 10035 px. I would like to have it 300 px in width and between 75 and 100 px in height.
When I publish it , it moves the widgit to the opposite side of the page and only gives a portion of the bigger box.
I just removed it all together and re published it and it is still there.

Facebook share button freez

When I click on it nothing happens

Facebook share button automatically populates the share pop-up window with article title, image and description provided in the page's <head> section.
I modify the code to feature a new title, image and description, upload, and test out the share... but the only modification it's reflecting is the title. The image and description continue to be the old ones (even though there's no trace of either anywhere in the code anymore).
As long as the url for the page remains the same, the title is the only thing that seems to reflect what I want when I hit that FB share button. The image and description, on the other hand, seem linked to the url somehow. They refuse to change as long as that url stays the same.
Clearly, Facebook is caching that information somewhere. I've wiped the code of all trace of the old description and image location, yet it continues to use them.
So the question is, where is it storing this info? On their own servers (where I can't edit it), in local cookies, or something else?

The font size is determined by facebook.
Based on this page :

You can change the colorscheme from light to dark.
In your code find this :
layout=standard&action=like
add this :
colorscheme=dark&
so it will be this :
layout=standard&colorscheme=dark&action=like

Facebook Share Button workaround?

I'm setting up a blog on my website with Muse. I'd like to be able to allow users to share my blog posts on Facebook. Since there is no Facebook "share" budget widget in Muse, what is the recommended workaround?

If you use the standard facebook like widget, and turn on the 'show send' option, you'll get a share button in addition to the like button.
If you want just a share button, you can generate the HTML for one one facebook's site:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/share-button/
Then you can copy that HTML and paste it into Muse as embedded HTML.

FaceBook share button uploads SMALL images

Whenever I hit the share button the images on the FaceBook end show up way too small. Anyway to fix this? I dont recall this being a problem a year ago, so not sure what is up.

Originals are 5MP. FB downsizes them to 640x480 which would be I think less than 1MP when I upload with iPhoto,but not so when I manually upload them. FlickR does not downsize anything, and one reason why I argue Flickr to be the best photo sharing service and the only one that talks with iPhoto directly.
