Facebook Status cannot be published from Notification Center

I am receving this error message every time I try posting a status to facebook:
"The post cannot be sent because the connection to Facebook failed."
I can share things like websites from Safari, or photos, but not status.
Is there something wrong on Facebook's end, or is there a bug on my end?

HI,
I don't have a Facebook account although I do know that you can use one in Messages.
Potentially a Status Message can be added to the relevant Buddy List.
However you can also log in to Facebook via  Browser.
You can also make some settings in System Preferences > Mail, Calendars and Contacts but I am not sure what that would entail.
It would be helpful for other to anwer if they knew which method of logging in to Facebook you were using.

  • Click to Tweet and Facebook Posts from Notification Center Stopped Working????!

Ok right now I am REALLY confused. About a week ago, I went to post something on twitter. Naturally, instead of having to go to twitter.com and signing in, I used the Notification center "Click to Tweet" button to make my post. It worked just as you would expect. The little screen popped up, I typed my post and tweeted it.
Just a few days ago, both the Tweet and Facebook Post buttons stopped working. I can click on them all I want, but the little index card-like screen never shows up. I don't know what the issue is, since I had both buttons working a few days ago. To try solving the issue I:
    1. Went into the settings for notifications and "Hid" the buttons from Notification center (that didn't work)
    2. Removed both my accounts from my laptop and re-added them (that didn't work)
    3. Checked to see that the password was correctly typed in... it was (and that still didn't work)
The only thing I have left to do is try shutting down my laptop and restarting it. However I recently had some iPhoto software updates that required the laptop to be restarted. Even though this was after the problem started, it still didn't fix it.
One more thing to note is that in Safari where the "Share" button is... that still works fine. I shared a website I was on to Facebook and it posted successfully. The only problem is the functions in Notification Center.
If anybody has a solution to this issue where the Tweet and Facebook Post buttons stop functioning for Notification center, I would really appreciate it. Thanks
    - Dan (ThunderBow98)
NOTE- One other thing. Notifications from Facebook and Twitter still work, however. For instance, I just got a friend request approved on Facebook and that appeared as it should with the little banner notification as well as it appearing in my list of notifications. Somebody re-tweated my tweet and that appeared there too. The only thing that isn't working is the posting features.

Same thing with me but the Safari thing also doesn't work. I recently changed my twitter username so I thought that might be the problem, but no it isn't. Unfortunately, I can only complain with you, not help you, I apologize, Dan!
What computer+ Mac os are you using? I am MacBook Pro with 10.8.4?

  • Can't disable FB, Twitter and LinkedIn from Notification Center

Hi everyone, here is my "issue".
I disabled Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn from notification center (their account are still enabled).
Anyway, every time I reboot, they come back enabled bothering me with notifications.
Is there a way to permanently disable them even after reboots?
    Many thanks!

I want my account on notification center.
and Eric, I did that already, I delelted his account and still have it on notification.
I also added my one already, and notification center shows my one and his one together. I don't know why.

  • How to clear apps from notification center?

Is there a way to reset/clear apps from notification center? My facebook notification ain't working and i want to reset notification center.

    Yes, it does.
Tips for clearing that unread message... try them in order.
If you have a rogue New Message icon on your Homescreen, or a negative count (-1), any one of these solutions could clear it, or reset it to zero:
    Try these options:
    * Hard Reset the BlackBerry by holding ALT, CAP (right Shift key), and DEL (or with the BlackBerry powered ON, remove the battery and reinserting the battery)
    * View Messages > Saved Messages
    * View Messages > View Folders, check each folder (missed calls, SMS in and out boxes, MMS in and out boxes, Saved, browser, phone logs etc)
    * Scroll to top of message folder, over the date heading, click or press menu to MARK PRIOR OPEN
    * Change your theme and see if it persists, and change back to your desired theme. (Options > Theme > select.)
    * Wipe and reload your OS.
    1. If any post helps you please click the below the post(s) that helped you.

  • Obtaining Remote Notification Data from Notification Center

How to get all  remote push notification payload from notification center when application is  launched from notificaiton center

The only way I have seen to do this kind of billing is using Resource Related Billing (RRB) and customizing of the Dynamic Item Processer Profile (DIP Profile)
It is not exactly like a simple flow of Notification > Sales Order > Service order (with all of the problems of how to copy notification data through to Service order) but might be a possible solution for you ?

  • IOS 6 - stock Weather app corrupts hourly temperature values when opening from Notification Center

Just noticed this strange occurrence happening for the past several days...
When you open the Weather app by accessing from Notification Center, the city whose weather is currently set will display distorted hourly temperature values as follows:
Deleting the city and re-adding to the list will correct these hourly values, so Yahoo is refreshing the correct temperatures to the app.  However, this will be negated once again when quitting the Weather app (icon wiggle and "X"), accessing Notification Center and selecting the weather again in this same fashion.
The reason I am leaning toward this being an iOS 6 bug (as opposed to a Yahoo! issue) is that my iPod Touch is still on 5.1.1 - this issue does not occur here.  Hourly temperatures display normally by accessing Weather in this manner.
Does anyone know whether there is a specific, non-developer email address to submit bug reports for iOS issues?
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Cannot Post Status on Facebook from Notification Center in OS X

Up until two days ago, I was able to post Facebook Status through Notification Center without any issues.
However, I am not getting error messages saying that "Connection to Facebook has failed"
However, I can still share through Safari and other application without any issues. (including Preview, etc)
I have tried all the possible solution that was mentioned when this issue previously arose when using within Safari. (which included erasing cookies and resetting Safari), and installing the latest Combo update (which, by now is 10.8.4). But none of the methods has worked so far. I have even tried re-setting the PRAM, and issue still persists.
I am basically stumped. Is there any solution, or is this issue on Apple or Facebook's end? (I heard it's authentication, but I doubt it, since it still works on my iPad running iOS 6)
Note that I have no issues when posting to Twitter. That still works.

  • Post to specific friend's wall on Facebook from Notification Center?

    Hi,
Can I only post to my Wall via Notification Center, or
    am I missing something?

    Curious about this as well.

  • I cannot receive invitation from game center

I could send invitation to friends in Game center to play games (Fruit Ninja) online together, but I could not receive the invitation from them.
I have already open game center in notification center, and the Wifi connecting is OK.
But I have denied the "notification pushing" from game center at the first time I use this app.
I am wondering how to solve the problem and play games with my friend online.
    Thank you

  • Gets friend's FB alerts in banners from Notifications Center

This is weird: I get my friend’s Facebook alerts in banner form from the Notifications Center. For instance, if she gets an PM on FB, I can see it as the alert pops out - but I can’t click from the alert to her FB inbox. How do I change the setting, so I get MY OWN alerts? I can't see that I have any FB app on my mac...

Open System Preferences (under the Apple logo in the Menu Bar).  Choose "Internet Accounts", then "Facebook".

  • Alert messages from Notification Center hang after using close button

After opening my MacBook in the morning, Notification Center displays the alerts from my Calender (I realy like this new feature!).
    Problem
When I click the Close Button on an Alert Message the Alert Message does not close but stops responding and stays displayed.
The only way to get rid of it is to logout and login to OSX.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I am looking for a solution.
    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thanks,
      Chris

    Hi,
    Uploaded with Skitch!
As you can see the System Preferences > Notification Pane talks about "Alerts" in a general way first
Then it offers options on how the Notifications are displayed.
I was presuming you were talking about the Notifications in the same general way and I was asking which option you were using
Since my first post in this thread I have changes my Mail Notifications to Alerts (It seems to be the one with more issue)
It does hang around until I deal with it
It then send me to Mail but the Incoming mail item(s) is(are) no longer marked  as unread.
This makes it a little difficult to check the generic Inbox rthat has five Accounts set up.
I am not getting a spinning beach Ball and the Alert Style Notification goes away.

  • My Facebook "click to post" in the notification center is not working. (Mac OSX 10.8.3). what should i do? :(

When i click the "click to tweet" button, it works, but when i click the "click to post", nothing happens---plus my twitter button wont work afterwards. so i have to restart my mac again. tried removing my fb account then adding it again, but still doesn't work. Any solutions?

It is most likely because Notification Center alters the menu bar and the dock itself. My facebook and my twitter button won't work properly either, but when i double-click the buttons it works. but i can't understand why your twitter button works once but won't work again.

  • How to completely delete an app from notification center in IOS not just turn it off

By mistake NDTV was added as a notification in my notification center. I went to preferences/notifications and I was able to turn it off but I want it completely gone which doesn't seem to be possible. Is it just poor programing or am I missing something. Any ideas?

If you're referring to the Notification on Mac OS (iMac), then you can take it out of the Notification Center:
Go to System Preferences > Notifications and drag the app from the top part of the left column down to "not in Notification center". Also make sure you choose 'none' on the right and UNcheck every choice offered. That will stop notifications for that app.
If you are referring to iOS, someone else will need to chime in.
