  • Why iOS 6 won't have Facebook/twitter intergration in Ireland? It's a joke

    It's a bit of a joke that Ireland won't have facebook/twitter intergration on iOS 6, the uk have it. Get your act together apple, it can't be to hard to add this for Ireland. People spend a lot of money on your products and you don't care. Sort it out

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

    I DID NOT PURCHASE THEM!
    HOW CAN I RESTORE THEM, THEY ARE NOT LISTED IN THE APP STORE????

    Hey Clyde71,
    Thanks for the question. From your description, it sounds like various Account Settings have been greyed out in your Settings application (iCloud, Facebook, Twitter). The cause for these being greyed out is a restriction setup on your iPhone. You'll probably see that Restrictions are turned "On" in Settings > General.
    You'll want to disable the restriction "Allow Changes: Accounts". For more information on restrictions, see this article:

  • Facebook, Twitter and Flickr sharing option removal

    Good morning,
    I just bought a brand new Iphone 5S with Ios 7.05 on board.
    I have seen that when you click share on something (like a photos) you have the option to share with social application like Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.
    Now I don't have these app installed and I don't have any account with them.
    How I can remove the sharing option?
    Thanks
    Regards

    Thanks for the answer.
    I think is not very fair to link external application like this.
    An Os generally speaking should be free of external application, or at least, the user should be able to delete them and their presence.
    I am not also really sure that this is compliant with some laws in some countries. I remember Google had similar issue with some application on their phone.
    Anyway this is only to share ideas, I guess I will take your suggestion :-)
    Regards

  • Okay so my iphone says its connected to the internet but the internet only works for games so i cant use things like facebook twitter or youtube PLZ TELL ME HOW TO FIX THISf

    Okay so my iphone says its connected to the internet but the internet only works for games so i cant use things like facebook twitter or youtube PLZ TELL ME HOW TO FIX THISf by the way it an iphone 4s and i have never encountered this problem before my dads iphone is the same after we updated to ios 8.1.1 but my mum hasnt updated yet and hers is fine

    If deleting then reinstalling the apps doesn't work, then contact the app developer for support.
    It sounds, though, like your internet connection is simply very slow.
    Try making a backup, then restoring the iPhone as new, and testing again.

  • HT5500 how can i post on facebook via ios?

    how can i post on facebook using IOS like for example "Im happy" via IOS

    First you have to install the FB app! At least on my new i5 with iOS 6.0.2, all the FB notification, push configuration and privacy controls are there, but if I touch any one, it tells me to install the app. Which I have not done as I won't pollute the phone with that time consuming and battery devouring distraction, but I digress.
    Same applies to Twitter. But the birdie is far less of a power hog.

    The links to Facebook, twitter, vimeo and flickr offend me - I don't like these brands, won't ever use them and don't want a reminder on my phone. How do I make them go away... Google says give up... I'm unhappy

    Sorry there no way to get rid of them, those came built in with the IOS.
    There is no reminder on your phone only way is if you go to settings and see them.
    Whether you like the brand or not, it's not hurting you in any way.
    if you don't like suggest you get a different phone maybe an Android phone.

  • Popular request: How to Share articles via Facebook/twitter/eMail

    I wrote a comprehensive post on how to share your article via facebook, twitter or eMail or collect community comments right inside your folio. This is how I established an overlaying layer of comments and discussion in my DONE magazine.
    This is a bit complicated, has some problems, but is a popular request and might help you to enable more discussion about your content:

    I hope this covers all and is repeatable.

    Hi Johannes,
    Thanks a lot, it is very helpful!
    I actually wouldn't be posting here if I wouldn't have a problem with it though.
    The thing is, I can't get it to work!
    So to clear things up here is my HTML code I'm trying to get working on an InDesign document (based on your HTML 5 template - Facebook like button code within the "body" tag):
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <!--
              HTML5-1file-framework for use in Digital Publishing Suite from Adobe
              v0.2-110224 (Tested with drop9)
              http://digitalpublishing.tumblr.com
    -->
    <html laneg="en">
    <head>
    <!-- title not visible in the viewer unless viewed with a browser / popup -->
    <title>HTML5 Framework for DPS</title>
              <meta charset="utf-8" />
              <!--
                        meta viewport tag
                        this tag controls the rendering of the html on the devices. it might be handled differntly
                        between iOS/Android, so be carefull. this is a complete example tag. change for your needs or omit completly.
                        -Pagination of HTML stacks: omit completly or do not use user-scalable and target-densitydpi
                        -PinchZoom: use "Scale Content to Fit" in InDesign and use maximum-scale greater than 1.0, do not use user-scalable=no
              -->
              <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0, maximum-scale=1.0, user-scalable=no, target-densitydpi=device-dpi"/>
              <!-- your document css -->
              <style type="text/css">
              /* basic css reset */
              body {
                        margin: 0;
                        padding: 0;
                        /* make WebOverlay transparent in InDesign: "Use Transparent Background" */
                        /* use following line for semi-transparent-background (fourth value is alpha value) */
                        /* background: rgba(50,150,250,0.5); */
              /* your css styles here */
              </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div id="fb-root"></div>
    <script>(function(d, s, id) {
      var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
      if (d.getElementById(id)) return;
      js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id;
      js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/nl_NL/all.js#xfbml=1";
      fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);
    }(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk'));</script>
    <div class="fb-like" data-href="http://www.website.com/" data-send="true" data-width="450" data-show-faces="true" data-font="tahoma"></div>
    </body>
    </html>
    What I do:
    I create an empty frame in my InDesign document.
    In  the overlay creator I tell it to be a Web Content.
    I select the HTML file containing above code.
    I update the article in the Folio Builder and test it on the iPad.
    The result is actually... nothing. The area in which the frame is, displays a small loading wheel and after that it's totally empty.
    What am I doing wrong??
    Thanks.

    No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
    Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
    Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
    So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
    Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
    Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash. Adobe is not providing Flash for Apple iOS devices, and they no longer provide Flash for any other cellular phones. Flash is officially gone.
    Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
    A sample of Apps that can display some Flash content:
      1. Puffin
      2. SkyFire
      3. Photon Flash
      4. Browse2Go
      5. Swifter
    Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."
    Download the Facebook app from the iTunes Store. Sign in with your Facebook ID and Password and you won't require flash to play videos.

  • Linking App to Facebook/Twitter Page

    Hey everyone. I'm nearing the ending phase of a game I am developing and I am curious as to how I would go about making a button load a specific Facebook/twitter page by tapping that button on android and iOS. I have been searching a while and haven't really struck gold on it yet. If anyone has any information on that or where I can find detailed tutorials, that would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

    Perfect, that worked. Now, is there a way to open up the Facebook or twitter page in the Facebook or twitter app if it is installed? Haven't really found anything on that yet.

  • Facebook & Twitter sharing feature in AppStore app

    Hi everyone,
    I'm an owner of iPhone 5 & acurrently I'm using iOS 6.1.4
    My friend has iOS 7.0 (he has dev account) and there is the same problem.
    Both of us haven't set any data in Facebook and Twitter fields in Settings menu.
    We don't even have apps from them.
    And the most important, we don't want to share any content from our lives via this services.
    But...
    When we want to copy link from some app in AppStore application we have following options:
    - Message
    - Mail
    - Copy Link
    - Facebook
    - Twitter
    We know, that nobody is looking on our data (we don't have any social accounts), but why we must see this two buttons when we ever don't want to use them (because we're not configuring this feature).
    Dear Apple, please take this two buttons off our eyes from AppStore (if Facebook & Twitter are not set in Settings).
    For us it's a very irritating problem.

    Believe me, there's a people that don't want to use any of social networks.
    Who said you had to use them? The presence of buttons does not in any way imply you must press them and use the features those buttons provide. You have the willpower within you to ignore those buttons! Try it! And just because you don't want to use them does not mean you have the right to wipe all references to them from places that they appear.
    And I don't want to see buttons with their logos.
    Well, just don't look at them then! It's really not hard to ignore features of iOS you don't want to use - people do it all day, every day.
    Websites, TV shows & adverts, print ads, shop windows, movie trailers and many other forms of media show the Facebook and Twitter logos everywhere you look. Do you also make demands to all of these places that they remove the logos just because you don't want to see them?
    Hiding two 9mm square logos from within one specific user interface element within iOS will not prevent you from seeing their logos.
    It smells like discrimination.
    Ha ha!! You clearly don't know what discrimination is...

  • IPod Touch: apps (facebook, twitter, facetime) don't work properly with my wireless internet having worked perfectly before. Help needed!

    I got my iPod Touch 4g for Christmas 2011 and for the first 2 weeks everything worked fine - I could download apps; use apps to their full potential; use FaceTime; use everything.
    But after the two weeks, the iPod decided to no longer work as well as it had promised. First of all, it would take more than 2 hours to download a single app from the app store and then, straight after that, I couldn't connect to FaceTime (it had worked perfectly before). Then, finally, to top it all off - Facebook and Twitter stopped working on occasions. For example, I couldn't post/send messages or photos on Twitter and at the majority of the time, the News Feeds wouldn't load.
    Sometimes everything works but most of the time it doesn't. I've tried my iPod at every time of the day and it makes no difference - nothing still works! Also, I don't think it is the fault of my wireless internet because I've had an iPod touch before and it worked perfectly, and the laptop that I am writing this question on also works perfectly with wifi.
    The weird thing is that I have used my iPod to its full potential (everything worked fine) at my friends hosue on multiple occasions - using his wifi. I am really lost for ideas for what to do - I have uninstalled all the apps that don't work with the internet (facebook, twitter) and have always made sure that I have closed apps after using them, so that my iPod wouldn't run slow.
    My iPod has been like this for over a month now, help would be appreciated

    Do you have a blackberry data plan active. On your account? You need an active blackberry data plan to use the majority of data functions on your phone, even if you are connected to wifi

  • I just downloaded the new version of Firefox and now every site I used to use such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube show "This Connection Is Untrusted"

    I just downloaded the new version of Firefox and now every site I used to use such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube show "This Connection Is Untrusted". Even when I do accept the risks the site no longer looks the way it's looked for years. Twitter doesn't even give me the option to accept the risks at all and shows this error (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer). I've tried resetting Firefox, I've checked the time and date, and I've removed and added Firefox to see if that would work. Nothing seems to be working so I can see the sites the way they normally would be instead of "coded". Can anybody help me please?!!! Thanks

    ok, unfortunately the fiddler2.com issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.
    reference: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/982532#answer-520145
    afterwards, run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
