Your wifi problem sounds very much like the problem I had. The wifi would drop out, the icon showed it was still connected. If I turned it off, I couldn't turn it back on. Another user here pointed me to the problem, which was the wifi cable (the flat cable goint from the card to the motherboard). I found it on ebay for $13 and it's been running fine since I replaced it. This is the repair guide for your machine. The part number will be on there if you click the link.

  • Why won't my camera work in Facebook video call?

Have a new MacBook Pro running Mavericks. When I tried to use the video call feature in Facebook, it told me I didn;t have the necessary java to execute the install. I downloaded the file suggested online (Java for OS X 2014-001: How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 web plug-in and Web Start features) and the install went through. However, when I try to make a call it connects, I can see the other person's video and hear her/him but my camera does not activate (No green light. Person being called can hear me, but no picture appears for them). FaceTime works fine. Skype works fine. Google+ Hangout asks me to give permission to use camera, but hangs up. I also tried to make a FB video call in Safari and that did not work either (same problem).

    Because something is wrong.
You've done well determining that there is nothing wrong with your Mac or its Apple Software.

  • Since i made the upgrade to mountain lion i¡m unable to make facebook video calls , i can,t see other's people webcam

I am having this same issue on my Macbook Pro Early 2011 running Mountain Lion. I try and use Facebook video chatting as I usually would, and although the other person can see me, what I see on my end is a still picture from their webcam that is often flickering between what my own webcam is picking up, and it continuously flickers with static lines (picture an old TV getting bad signal).
Skype is also behaving strangely since I upgraded, although it's flip-flopped (Skype is not letting others see me but I can see them)
With both Skype and Facebook, audio is having no issues.

  • Disable Facebook video calling problem

I Installed facebook vdeo calling, then I did want to use it any more so I deleted the .bundle file from the liberary>internet-plugin folder.
I am still getting a warning window which pops up for less than half seconds and then disappear even before I can read it..
In the conlole folder I saw the error message as
I have deleted the .bundle before but my safri still shows that that plugins installed
    Facebook Video Calling Plugin
Facebook Video Calling by Skype — from file “FacebookVideoCalling.bundle”.
    MIME Type
    Description
    Extensions
    application/skypesdk-plugin
Facebook Video Calling plugin provided by Skype
.. I am just one user on my system, hence  I have only 1 liberary folder.
I tried reinstalling the facebook videocalling again so that I will be able to see the .bundle file but it still wont show the file in the internet-plugin folder...
the video calling works fine but I want to delete this plugin, what should I do?

Hi from Ensenada, Mexico....   I have the same situation some hours ago, and the unique thing you need to do, is next:
    1. Go to your "Home folder", locate the Library folder, then your "internet plug-ins" folder, inside this you will see an Alias file named "FacebookVideoCalling.bundle"
    2. Point and select it with the mouse, then, click it with the second finger click or "CTRL + CLICK", a pop-up menu appear, select from list "show original"
    3. If you erased the "Alias file", please go to this location:
In a finder window, locate your home folder from the left navigation panel, the route will be
         "your home folder"> Library> Application Support> Facebook> Video> 1.1.0.12> "FacebookVideoCalling"
         { this route appear in my OS X Lion}
    4. The "FacebookVideoCalling" is an application, I recomend that you use an unisntaller software like "TrashMe", if not, just remove all the Facebook Folder sending to the trash....
    5. Is everything to do....   Regards !!!

  • Does Firefox support "Facebook video calling?

The video button for "Facebook video calling is not showing up. I check the help page for Facebook to see if Firefox browser supported it. It said it did. I installed the "Facebook Video Calling Plugin". But the icon still does not show up.

  • Facebook Video Calling Security Question

When I try to use video chat in Facebook, I'm directed to download a file.  The file is "FacebookVideoCalling_v1.6.jar" and it comes with this message:
Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the Mac App Store and identified developers."
I don't want to change my security preferences because Facebook refuses to register the program on the App Store.
I also have a valid Skype account and have linked Skype to Facebook.
How do I use Facebook Video calling without relaxing my security protocols?

Thanks for the quick reply.  I should have made clear that I know how to make an exception for this piece of software.  I'm probably more troubled that Facebook doesn't seem to care enough about security to register the program.  Is there cause for concern?  Before posting this, I was reading various blogs that expressed concern about FB collecting private data while users are engaging in the video chats.  I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but in the case of FB it sometimes seems warranted.
Is there anyway to use security sanctioned video chat software on FB or is the only option to download their offering and then pull the drawbridge back up?

  • Facebook video call don't work ?

hi i just download apple os marvericks , and i find problem with video call in facebook , somebody can help me please to restart my video call en facebook

You made need all to restore your phone. I had this issue when 6.1 appeared, and I coudn't bring it until I made a full and clean restore.
    For user "11142007"
Maybe it's something that you sincronyze, a glitch, or if you restore from a backup, don't do that anymore, you need a clean install, and afterwards sync the data, don't restore it.
Keep me posted and if my answer helped you please add.

  • Facebook video calling freezing issue!

When I start a video call on facebook with Google chrome or Safari I experince this issue:
After starting a video call and the other person accepts the call and it starts to load, then once the person is conneted I see a small screen with my webcam's view at the top right corner of my browser but the issue is the big screen also has a frozen view of my webcam (a photo of me when I first got connected to the call) and the other person can see/hear mebut I'm only able to hear him/her without being able to see them!!!
    These are my details:
    Macbook Pro - 13-inch, Late 2011
    Software:  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
The diffrent browsers I have tried using are:
    1-Google Chrome Version 29.0.1547.76
    2- Safari Version 6.0.5 (7536.30.1)
*Ps I have no issue using Skype
please if anyone knows how to solve this reply to the post.
    Best Regards,
    Khaled

It sounds like it might be a software issue.  Check for latest versions of third-party software like chrome, facebook extensions, etc., and either update or uninstall them to test whether the problem remains.
It might also be a problem with network speed or signal quaity.  Both ends of a video connection must meet minimum system requirements, so both of you should test with other callers to find which end(s) of the connection has the cause of the problem.

  • Facebook Video Calling freezes web cam

I am facing an issue when placing video calls via facebook either on Safari or Chrome ( I haven't tried other browsers). The problem is that when I place the call, I can see my own image (video) on the top right corner (small window), but I can't see the other person's video on the big window. Everything freezes by the time the person I am calling accepts the call. The problem does not happen when I place a call on Skype.
If anyone knows how to solve the problem, I'd really appreciate.
    Regards,
    Diego

    HI,
There is or was a setting at Facebook that was need to be set for "other" Browsers.
It seemed to allow Logins from a different computer such as a Library and Internet cafe service.
It also seemed to be needed for app like iChat and Messages to also be able to log in.

  • Facebook Video Calling

Ive been using Video calling on Facebook for ages without any problems.
Today when i sign in and try it the picture jumos all over the place and freezes and i cant see the other person.
I used another laptop and everyhting was ok on there.  Ive uninstalled the VC software and then reinstalled it again but the same thing still happens.
Any suggestions please as to how i can sort this.

Hold down the control key while highlighing the app and select "Open" - you'll be asked for your admin password but it's the only way to open apps with your Security settings (unless you change your settings - which I don't recommend).
