Facebook Video Chat for 10.8.2

I have tried downloading facebook videochat on all the different servers but NONE will work! Everytime I try to download it a window pops up saying ""FacebookVideoCalling_v1.6.jar" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer". Why is this happening? People I've asked seem to be able to use it with no problems.

  • Macbook built-in Camera Not Found: Facebook video chat

    Hi Experts,
I purchased Apple Macbook Air 2013.
The buit-in camera is not detected while facebook video chat.
But camera works with Skype video calling. Camera is also detected while I want take a picture in facebook.
I already installed latest available Adobe Flash and gave permission to "ask" for camera to be used in the Adobe Flash Player properties from "system Preferences".
I have gone through all realted threads, and none of them seem to work for me. Built in camera is not detected during google hangout video calling also.
I suspect I have to "allow" the camera to use for facebook and google plus chat, but it does not give me prompt as it gave while I accessed facebook "take a photo".
    Can any one help?

    Sujit.

  • Facebook video chat on Macbook with Snow Leopard-Experience???

I have a Macbook with Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Safari for browser.
I'm looking for users of the same who have used or tried to use Facebook video chat and would love to know if it was a good experience or were there any problems and if so what were the nature of those problems?
    Thanks,
    Janie

No Sir, I am not having problems with FaceBook and this Granny isn't taking a survey or poll.  I gave all the information I did so that I could get the proper "help".  I am not planning to upgrade to Lion and thus cannot have iCloud.  I have moved my mail from MobileMe to iCloud but I am not sure that I will be able to use my iChat once MobileMe ends on June 30 and I am looking at alternatives to staying in touch wit my children and grandchildren.  I am limited in knowledge but I do know that some apps from FaceBook arent's so good.  I want to be sure that I don't download anything that would be incompatible with my Mac and my version/browser, etc.  Just trying to avoid problems and keep my Mac in good working order.  I thought there might be somebody out there that would know the answer to my question.

  • Facebook video chat problems

i heve problems with facebook videochat. the people can see me but i can't see no budy. thanks for your help

Well the good news, Safari is most likely not the problem. The bad news, I think there's some confusion on what version of what you're running. So let's go over some terminology:
    1.) If you're running OS X 10.6.x then that's Snow Leopard, if you're running 10.7.x that's Lion and if you're running 10.8.x that's Mt. Lion.
2.) If you're running Safari 6.x.x then that machine is on at least 10.7.x (Lion). Safari 6.0.2 is the latest and greatest version so that's up-to-date. Is the laptop running Lion or Mt. Lion?
3.) The iMac is running either Snow Leopard or Lion as Mt. Lion can't run Safari 5.1.7 but the OS is irrelevant for the purposes of troubleshooting as 5.1.7 is the latest version.
There's no mention of troubleshooting in Facebook video chat's documentation other than the standard and customary. I downloaded it on a 10.6.8 machine running 5.1.7 and it fired right up immediately. I do know that it runs on Java and there was a recent-ish Java update. So that'd be the next thing to check.
You can try downloading it and installing. - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572

  • Is facebook video chat in Ipad4 supported by Apple?

I got an Ipad 4 and want to use facebook video chat but can't find a video sign at all in any page of my facebook.

Apple has nothing to do with any features of the Facebook app - that app is made by Facebook and questions regarding its use should be directed to Facebook.
However, as far as I know Facebook have not yet implemented video chat in their mobile apps.

  • Video chat using face time with facebook video chat

I have windows 7 64 bit and ipad 2 and a mini ipad.  I have cousin in Italy who uses Facebook to video chat using her web camera on her desktop/laptop.  I would like to know if I would be able to chat with her via video if I am using Facetime on my ipad 2/mini ipad and she is using Facebook on her desktop/laptop.
Would that be possible if so, what are the steps. thanks.

FaceTime will only connect to another Apple devcie (iOS or OS  X) using an address registered via Apple ID.
You might consider Skype. I don't know if it would connect to a FaceBook video chat, but she should be able to download and use it as well.

  • 2 X person video chat for Intel Qs

Hey I know the specs required for doing a multi person (eg, more than 2 people) video chat for PowerPC processors, however I was wondering what the spec requirements are for the Intel ones... I am primarily directing this towards the Mac Mini Solo v. Duo which I am assuiming the Solo could be the only one that might have limitations (like my poor powerbook...).
SO my question is can a Mac Mini Solo HOST a multi person video chat OR is it like my powerbook and other "slower" apples that can only join multi chats yet cannot host them? AND if the Solo cannot HOST a multi person video chat CAN it at least JOIN a multi person video chat?
AND finally JUST to make sure there are no compatabilities problems, can a intel based apple multi-video chat with a powerpc apple?
    Thank you,
    TM

    Hi T.M.,
Go to System Preferences and then Quicktime.
    Select the Streaming tab.
In the drop down se the speed to match your download speed.
If it faster than 1.5meg then use 1.5 meg.

  • Where do I find an app for Facebook video chat?

When I try to video chat on facebook Apple will not let me download the Facebook Video Calling_v1.6-10.jar because it is an unidentifiable developer. Who would be an identified developer? Where would I find the app?

  • Anyone have a fix for Facebook video chat not working in Mavericks?

I have seen many people having the problem of video chat not working in Facbook since upgrading to Mavericks. The good news is the camera icon has reappeared, but it still is not working.
    Any help would be AWESOME!!
    thx

    Hi,
If it is in Messages it will need to be Messages to Messages.
i.e. a Mac Buddy also using iChat or Messages to do Jabber Video chats in the app.
This means it will not connect to someone using a Jabber app that can do Video or the web Page login and using "chat" from there.
I believe the Web Browser method with Facebook's own end to end connection use Flash.
You may need to update a version of Flash if your have it or install it if you do not.
FaceTime would not connect to the Jabber connections that Facebook is running.
FaceTime is it's own service and does not connect to others.
Messages and FaceTime are run on different servers and you can in fact run different IDs in each.
(this can causes issues when your Invoke a FaceTime Video Chat from Messages which presumes the Contact is using the same ID).
