Facebook website data on iPhone

Hi, my daughters iPhone is showing 40.1kb, 26.1kb and various other amounts of data in settings, advanced website data. It is also showing 1.8 mb of Mail.google.com. She swears to me that she has not been on Facebook or does not have an account and that she does not have a gmail account! I have no idea what size this amount of data is or whether you can acquire this amount by 3rd party advertisers/cookies. She also has sites such as mobile.bet365 for 12.0kb?
Many thanks in advance for your help!

Have you received a verification email from Apple for your Apple ID? A lot of users are experiencing problems with this. Try doing a reset: (No data will be lost) Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. As for Facebook downloading, I just did this today with no problem.

  • Why does my  iphone safari settings show I have website data from websites I have never been to?

I have an iphone 4, and I was looking at the advanced safari settings. While scrolling through the website data and I noticed a few bizarre sites that I know I never went to. Is there some explanation for this?
    Thanks

Many web sites display content from several sites.

  • How long is website data (cookies) stored on the iPhone?

Are cookies only kept for 30 days (as with browser history) or are they kept forever until you delete them?

Thank you! So I'm guessing if you had iPhones for years, and never deleted/cleared cookies then they would get transferred if you got a new iPhone? Is it then possible for websites you visited say 2 years go to still appear in the website data?

  • Safari website data history for iPhone 4

How far back is website data for safari saved? Would it have website data from before the big iPhone update a few months ago?

I know the history only goes back for a weeks or so, but I am talking about website data from safari. To get to it you go to settings, then safari, then advanced settings. It lists how much data you have downloaded from each website. I am sure website data goes back farther than that because I can see website data from a website that I used for school 3 or 4 months ago.

  • Website data safari advanced iPhone 4S

How is the data in Settings>Safari>Advanced>Website Data. Arranged? Is it by last visited? Etc?

It is ordered by the size of the cache for each website.

  • Under my website data (Settings, Safari, Advanced) there are websites using a lot of data which I have never visited before. Several of these listed sites are for tracking internet usage.  Has my phone been compromised? Is there any other explanation?

I have recently discovered a website called bluecava operating on my iphone 4s, according to my website data log.  I've never been to this site, but according to my data log this site is using a lot of data, along with other sites which I have never visited before. Does anyone know anything about bluecava (I've done my research, but I'm not finding information about individuals using this to track someone), or have any other explanation for seeing un-visited sites on my data log?
Someone recently mentioned phone "cloning" to me, meaning that my iphone may be accessed remotely.  Any information is greatly appreciated!

Thanks a ton!  Yeah, I didn't know about any of this until I had reason for legitimate concern.  People should be aware of what's available.  Someone intent on tracking you won't mind paying bluecava to do it for them...
I'll definitely be updating my browser as well.  However, Lawrence, I did find during my research that bluecava DOES NOT operate based on cookies.  It uses your IP address to consistently track patterns of behavior, even
within multiple devices of one household, so that deterring the tracking is not as simple as turning off cookies to a site.  (See screenshot below from bluecava.com)
If you go to the bluecava site's privacy policy, you can actually opt-out, however, blogs have criticized bluecava for not explaining exactly what happens when a user opts-out.  It may be beyond our control...

  • Issue w/ Facebook website

So I bought a 32gb iPad and the first couple of nights I bought it I used the Facebook website chat w/o a problem. The online friends list showed up, I could tap the chat boxes and talk back and forth, etc. Just like I would on a normal desktop browser.
But ever since those first couple nights, it hasn't worked. The page loads but none of the chat boxes/indicators come up on the screen. I have no idea what's changed or why it doesn't load now, does anyone have any ideas?
Oh and I really do not want to use the Facebook app (at least not the iPhone version for right now) because I like the idea of being able to go back and forth between the Faceboook web page and any other browser windows I may have open. Thanks...

Facebook beta tests a lot of its apps without user's knowledge. So, they might have implemented an HTML based chat system for a few days or weeks, then reverted or changed to a Flash version. This happens a lot with Facebook, since I have flash blocked on Safari on my MBP, and I'll see things disappear at times.
I have noticed that a lot of FB games have moved to HTML5 (or at least some non-flash system). My personal addiction of one FB game works perfectly on the iPad. A few weeks ago, it did not work on my iPhone, but now does.
My suggestion is to download the Facebook App, though only in an iPhone version now, but it does have the chat feature fully enabled.

  • Are iPad Safari's Cookies And Website Data The Same Thing?

Are they the same, and do they collect indefinitely until you manually clear them?

    Sheden-
It is not clear if they are the same thing, but I do not believe so.  There are two places to manually delete Data:
    1.  Settings - Safari - Clear Cookies and Data
    2.  Settings - Safari - Advanced - Website Data - Remove All Website Data
I tried clearing Cookies and Data, and the data previously listed under "Website Data" went away.  When I tried just "Remove All Website Data", it went away again.  I can not tell if Cookies also went away since I do not know how to examine them.
After clearing the website data, images on a facebook page had to reload when I revisited it.  Normally they come up immediately.  I know the images are definitely not "Cookies"!
As far as I kinow, website data collects indefinitely.  I suggest you search the web for information about Cookies, to see if they have a limited lifetime.

  • Website data in advanced settings for websites never visited

How is it possible for website data to be recorded in advanced settings without visiting a website?  Would other websites visited have to be related content popups?  If the iphone 6 plus was used as a hot spot, can other users actions be recorded on the hot spot phone?  Phone is automatically locked after short time.  This user has visited sites previously on a previous iphone but not the phone in question

In addition to the server (site) that you navigate to, any inserted material on that site that is actually on another server would also be recorded, including images, embedded videos, ads, and other embedded content. Website data for another device using the phone as a hotspot will not be captured on the phone.

  • Problem in Firefox 4 while opening facebook website

I opened facebook website and was searching for newly added friends in my friend's list search bar and i could not find the names of them , but they exists in the friend list. Moreover i tried the sam on Internet Explorer and it works. So request you to please take immediate action to deal with it.

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have released an update for Norton 360 to make it compatible with Firefox 4, for details see http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about other Norton products, but if you run Norton LiveUpdate it should inform you if there are updates available. If no updates are available, you can downgrade to Firefox 3.6 if you want to use the Norton add-ons.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Preferences Privacy Cookies and other website data

I'm having a problem. The number of "websites stored cookies or other data" keeps jumping around! First it shows 116, then jumps to 24, then jumps to 116, 117, then 15, then back to 24 again. Other numbers have been shown in a cycle, too. When I click on "details" the lists jumps around too. First listing many sites, then a few, then many again and so on. This is continuous. I tried "Remove All Website Data", but no luck. Any ideas? I've never had this problem before.

This seems to be caused by having pages making frequent updates to their cookies or local storage. You can tell the domain of the pages that are doing so by opening the Library/Safari/Local Storage folder in your home folder in Finder and sorting by date modified. In my case, both Facebook and Twitter pages were updating quite often. Once I closed them, the number settled down -- it continued to move up and down fairly frequently (presumably because some open pages were still adding/deleting cookies or local storage), but never reset or showed a much lower number.

  • Safari website data repopulates

So, I want to clear the website data from my iPhone. I go to Settings|Safari|Advanced|Website Data and select Remove All Website Data. 30 minutes later, I go back to look and it's all there, as if I didn't clear it.
    Anyone know why?

Thanks for your reply, I have already tried the things you suggested.
It looks like after over nine hours of investigation I may have found the solution. Get rid of Avast Anti-Virus!
It seems to be something to do with thier web shield preventing conection to the net. Also one of my mail accounts turned out to be affected aswell.
Turning off thier web shield and mail shield has cured the problem but now I have less protection than before, so i will go back to using Sophos and Bit Defender and stop looking for a perfect solution to security. The grass always looks greener they say, but not in this case.
    Thanks again, appreciate the help.

  • How can i delete app data on iPhone without uninstalling the app?

How can i delete app data on iPhone 4 without removing the application.     Facebook application size -57mb. And its app data is 70mb

    This is ridiculous!
Imagine this scenario, can't be that unlikely:
I'm going away on holiday, or away on work for a while, and I'm not taking the computer to which I sync my phone. Before I leave I fill my iPhone up with music to take with me. While I'm travelling I want to install a new app, but I don't have space. I look to delete content from the phone - I can delete podcasts but not music. Unfortunately I don't have enough podcasts to free up space that way. So I don't purchase the app I wanted.
    This is bad for:
    1. The user (me)
    2. The app developer - lost download.
    3. Apple - they lose their cut of the app download, and royally p#@* off a user.
Can someone explain to me why this limitation is good for anyone?!

  • When i go to sync my apps with my computer it tells me  ''are you sure you want to sync apps ? all exsisting apps and there data on (iphone) will be replaced with the apps on this itunes library'' does this mean all my data will be lost if i continue ?

when i go to sync my apps with my computer it tells me  ''are you sure you want to sync apps ? all exsisting apps and there data on (iphone) will be replaced with the apps on this itunes library'' does this mean all my data will be lost if i continue ?

Regarding your broken, previously authorized computer, here's how that works:
You would authorize your new computer -- maybe you've done that already.  Then you will have two computers authorized.  Apple allows you to have up to five computers authorized at any time.  If you get to five, you can then go to your account details in iTunes and remove all authorizations.
Bear in mind this is not saying you can synch to more tham one library.  Razmee209 and gdgmacguy's comments above are correct.  But if Apple only allowed you to authorize one computer at a time, then having a broken computer would mean you could no longer use your Apple ID with iTunes.

  • HT204053 2 devices - 1 icloud account issues; importing data to Iphone 6

I have an Iphone 4G and ipad which was sharing 1 icloud account . Big mistake! Because, the storage space was insufficient for both devices' data, I stopped backing up any more data into the icloud. Now I bought a new Iphone 6 and am wondering how I am to sync all my data ( including all the photos and contacts and apps) across from the Iphone 4G to the Iphone 6 .
Also, since I originally have 2 devices, can I create another icloud account separate for 4G now and then use that to sync my data across to the new  Iphone 6?
Otherwise I find it impossible to start using my iphone 6 at all!
    Thank you for any advice.

    Thank you for your reply.
My concern is that I do not want the data ( except for emails) which is in Ipad to be synced over to the new iphone which  I made the mistake of doing before with Iphone 4. The 2 devices are used for very different purposes so I would like to have 2 separate accounts for each device. My problem is trying to import only data from the iphone 4G to the new Iphone ,whereas since previously I only set up 1 icloud account for both devices, the data  ( eg photos, songs , books and apps ) appeared on both devices. I am trying to deviate from this. so in essence., I am hoping to set up a totally new account for the new iphone but to copy data from iphone 4 across.
Or should I  buy extra storage for a month  just for the purpose of backing up all data from both ipad and iphone 4 into that particular icloud account, then set up a new icloud account for iphone 6 and copy everything across and then delete data that came from the ipad one by one in the iphone 6 . After all, the new iphone 6 has 64 gb. In that way, I can still maintain the icloud account for ipad ( and then delete all the unnecessary data from iphone 4 in that particular icloud account) and have a separate icloud account for the new Iphone 6 as well.
Would really appreciate some feedback . TQ.
