Facebook won't load on my Mac

I just got my Mac a few months ago, and I never had a problem loading any page. For the past few days Facebook won't open. I Googled many solutions, none of which worked. I restarted multiple times, updated software, deleted cookies, emptied cache, tried Facebook on Firefox, installed the newest Flash, but it won't load anywhere. Every other page loads except Facebook. Please help.

Hi,
updated software
Facebook requires the latest version of Safari which is 5.0.4. Make certain your software is up to date just in case.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari / About Safari. If the version number is not 5.0.4, click your Apple menu (top left in the menu bar) then click Software Update.
If you have 5.0.4 installed, from the menu bar click Safari / Preferences - then select the Extensions tab. If you have any installed, turn that off, then restart Safari, try Facebook.
And again in Safari / Preferences select the Security tab. Make sure the box next to: Java is selected. Then click: Show Cookies. Delete all Facebook cookies. Restart Safari, try Facebook.

  • Facebook won't load on any browser

I've seen a lot of people posting since 2009 that they've had this issue but I've yet to see an answer that's worked for me.  Facebook won't load on ANY of the browsers so cookies and cache won't help. When I log out of the Mac and log back in I can get into Facebook for a while so it's not a configuration issue.  I CAN log into facebook through IE on the parallels section.  This started about three months ago for me.

Did you look at any of the "More Like This" on the right side of the screen? I don't know if they hold the answers for you, but some may be worth taking a peek.
The usual answer seems to be 'clear your cache' but, as you've done that, it doesn't seem the answer to your problem. When you say 'all browsers' I assume that you mean Firefox, Chrome and Safari? I run Firefox almost exclusively, only using Safari and Chrome for testing purposes and I've tried all three and can't replicate your problem. I don't think that uninstalling Adobe Flash is the answer (and, as it is ubiquitous, it's really a necessary evil).
Try an app such as Onyx to make sure that everything is actually cleared. If that doesn't help, ring back.
BTW - is this occurring only when you try to log in to Facebook?

  • Facebook won't load on Macbook pro with 10.8

Facebook won't load on Macbook pro with Mountain lion on a small homw network at home
I am on a wifi Network. Girlfirend's Macbook got no problem with Facebook on the same network (she got snow leopard installed)
Facebook WILL load when i connect my computer directly to the the modem, bypassing the router.
Facebook will load when i use Windows 7 on VMWARE.
    What i already tried:
    1- Reset the router
2- cleaning caches on all the browsers i'm using (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
Never had that problem with 10.7
Mystery, don't know what i should do except reinstalling Mountain lion...
    Any idea?

Edge Inspect desktop has no UI and only Inspect icon will be visible in the menu bar. Also, you need to be logged in with Adobe ID in the app.

  • Facebook won't load on Safari

Facebook won't load on Safari, but is ok. on Chrome.  What can I do to get it back on Safari?  I thought it may be something to do with Java, so have disable that but still not working.

Run software update and see if there is a Java update. Install it and re-enable java on safari.

    Hi Jeff,
I chat with Adobe Support and she managed to help me solve the problem.
It's due to some security profile setup on my MAC blocking the full
    install. Thanks for your help.

    Hello Kathleen,
If you are using Mail for your Mac, then check out the article below to assist with getting it sorted out. Start with looking at the Connection Doctor to see why you are not able to get your emails. Let me know what you find.

  • Facebook won't load properly. Takes forever and then I get a script page with log-in and then that takes forever and gives me further script that won't let me access anything. Other sites load and work OK!

Started after last auto update several days ago. A few other sites are slow to load while many are good but Facebook just won't present it's usual mix of pre-programmed scripts and links but comes up eventually as part HTML script with a log-in box and when you log-in it then takes forever again and just gives HTML type script for "Friends" "messages" etc. but if you click these it goes nowhere!
Also it won't let me clear history at all despite many tries. I removed and reloaded the program last night but no positive effect.

I still haven't resolved this problem. Here is some more information...
youtube is the only website that has started working, but it sometimes stops working again.
There are many other sites that don't work, cnn.com, washingtonpost.com (sometimes), and a lot of others.
I have contacted our internet service provider and they said that they had nothing to do with the problem.
Some websites will not work at all. Safari tells me that it can't find the server. Some that do this are ups.com, computerworld.com, and others.
I think that the problem is that, for some reason, our mac computers can't access certain servers where we are. (We are at a small ski resort (on the mountain) in Canada.) I think this because when a site doesn't load properly there are several errors and they are all "can't find host" errors from a couple of the same sites (ex. example.something.something).
*Also, I ran a test on speedtest.net on the laptop and one of our iMacs and the results were way faster than anything actually loads/downloads or than the activity monitor shows, even when checking the activity monitor at the same time as running the test.

  • Facebook won't load?

I've had this issue for a few days, and can't seem to resolve it.
My mac is a bit older...I'm running OS X 10.5.8.  I have Safari Version 5.0.6.  I also have Firefox 13.0.1 and Chrome Version 20.0.1132.47.
Every single website except Facebook will load.  I've tried emptying the cache, clearing cookies, resetting safari.  Java is enabled.  Occasionally I can get to the login page, but never past that.
Any idea what's going on?  This is driving me CRAZY.

Select  ▹ System Preferences ▹ Network ▹ Advanced ▹ TCP/IP ▹ Configure IPv6: Off. Apply the change and test. You must apply the change before it takes effect.

    Hi,
    updated software

  • Facebook won't load on safari and app

Yesterday it stopped working and after all my attempts it refuses to load facebook on safari and the app won't work

Reboot your router by powering it off for 30 seconds then power it back on. After the router has completed it's startup and indicates a connection to the internet reset your ipad. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

  • Adobe flash player won't load on my Mac

I got a notification on my MAC OS X 10.6.8 saying to upload the latest version of Adobe flash player.
I went ahead (then restarted the computer) but since then all my applications have been blocked, saying "blocked plug in".
Took advice and uninstalled any previous Adobe flash players from the Applications folder - then resinstalled the up to date Flash Player.
Restarted the PC again, but its made no difference. Safari still won't accept the Flash Player, my applications file shows that no Adobe Flash Player is installed and its now rendering my applications unusable.
I've been advised that Apple make the Adobe flashplayer update mandatory in order to continue using the MAC - frustrating to say the least !

    Thank you for your answer.
I have un-installed all flash players.  I went into a page where it confirms that if the "grey box below is blank" this confirms you have no flash player installed.
The message now says I need to install a flash player to run (whichever) app and to "click here".
I do so, the Adobe flash goes through stage of 1-2-3 and the usual box shows the download as it is happening, but at the end of it there is still no installation and I continue to get the same message - flash player is needed.  (I have restarted the MAC inbetween)
