Faces don't sync anymore?

Faces don't seem to sync onto iPhone or iPad like they used to with iPhoto. Am i missing something here or do they not sync? this is a feature i really liked when it sync to idevices.

I'm new to it as well, but I "think" iCloud is Apple's approach to synching.

Some Faces Don't Sync to FaceBook

When I sync tagged photos from iPhoto to FaceBook, some of the faces link to their FaceBook accounts and others don't (their names aren't hyperlinked to their accounts).
I've searched around the Apple Community for an answer, but so far nothing I've found has resolved the issue. I went through Contacts and eliminated duplicate entries and entered in the FaceBook usernames and e-mail addresses for the affected faces, but after tagging those people and sharing to FaceBook, they still weren't linked. I can't see any common difference between the Faces that link and those that don't either.
Any ideas? Thanks!

In the iPhoto faces window you need to make sure that the correct fact book email address for the person is entered into their info there - that may not be updated form contacts

My ipods don't sync anymore

Dear,
My itunes syncs with three apple products: an ipad, anipod nano (touch) and an ipod classic.
When I try to sync my nano and classic itunes says they are probably damaged and that I have to restore them.
Because I was a bit hopeless, I restored my classic. I restarted my computer (windows vista) and now he still says the same.
I tried again and again, but it does not work!
Does anyone have any tips to help me out?

Apps don't sync across devices after I moved to iCloud. I have 1 apple ID (from mobile me) and 1 that use for iTunes

Apps on my various iPads and iPhone used to sync automatically. Whenever I used to buy an apps, it would just automatically appear in all my devices. I'm not sure what does that, it could have been the MobileMe account, but it was working perfectly until after I moved to iCloud. Now, apps don't sync anymore. Calendars, mails and contacts do. I use 1 apple ID for I cloud and 1 for iTunes because I moved mobile me account to iCloud. Could someone please help? This is bugging me and I searched all over the Internet but can't find answer.

Ipod Nano won't sync anymore

Hi - I have two identical Nano Ipods. 3rd gen 8GB. Both don't sync anymore since I downloaded latest itunes software. When I do a diagnostic check I get under device connectivity issue: "no ipod, iphone or ipad found" - nothing happens when I plug either of them in. However, if I plug another ipod in - a newer one - (not mine, someone else's) everything works fine. Computer and itunes recognizes the device. I have done everything imaginable to fix this problem, going through the step by step process from Apple support. To no avail. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Do you have any other devices connected via USB? Or have you previously installed other USB peripherals and drivers on that laptop?

So when you plugged the Nanos into your friends computer, did you use the same cables as you do with your own PC or did you use your friends?
Answer: We used his cable. However, when he plugged HIS newer ipod into MY computer he used MY cable and his ipod was instantly recognized, after an automatic download of the correct driver for his device. I have tried several cables. It is not a cable problem.
Note: My friend is also my husband so his office in the next room. He has a Mac. I have a 2 year old Dell Inspiron with Windows 7. We have tested this numerous times. His ipod works on my computer. My ipods work just fine on his computer. My computer recognizes his ipod but won't recognize mine no matter how many drivers we uninstall and reinstall.
Can you post the results of the Device Connectivity Test?
Answer: I will try to do that later - I have to go to work now. All I have now is what I saw on the screen which was the same thing: "no ipod, iphone, ipad found". Thank you SOOOOO much for trying to troubleshoot this annoying issue.

Keyboard Shortcuts do not sync anymore (iCloud, OSX 10.9.5 & iOS 8)

Hey everyone,
since I updated my iPhone 5 and iPad (3. Gen.) to iOS 8 all my keyboard shortcuts are gone and don't sync anymore between the devices.
On my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.5) the keyboard shortcuts are still there. (Probably because Yosemite isn't out yet)
Until I updated to iOS 8 everything worked just fine.
I tried to figure out what the settings have to be and I found that article including a video:

iCloud is activated on every device
Documents and Date is enabled
Don't know why apple would have switched off that pretty need feature...
Any idea, what I could do?

My keyboard shortcuts were disappearing and reappearing, daily or hourly, about 50% reliable since iOS 8 update. Then did the 8.0.2 update and enabled iCloud Drive.

You need to transfer the music from your iPod on to your iTunes library on your PC, since that is where you are currently syncing and where you are signed into iTunes Match. It doesn't matter that you were previously syncing it with a Mac, and you won't need to reinstall iTunes on your PC. But you will have to use 3rd party software such as Touch Copy to transfer any music not purchased from the iTunes store from your iPod to your iTunes library. Here's another guide on this, which is shoter and you may find easier to follow: Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive. Also, if you're using iTunes 11, go to View>Show Sidebar. This will make it easier to follow along with these guides.

Notes does not sync anymore between iMac & iPhone &iPad ?

Since I upgraded to mountain Lion, as Notes is not anymore within the Mail app it seems that there is no way to sync notes without using iCloud. Is there any solution ?

Well, I've got the same problem. I'm supposedly using iCloud, and Notes are selected in iCloud pref pane, and in all accounts of "Mail, Contacts & Calenders" pref pane. But still, notes don't sync.
What gives?

Videos and video Podcasts won't sync anymore to iPod

I have a 5th generation 30G Video iPod and used to have all the same videos and video Podcasts playing just fine on my iPod. I reinstalled Mac OS X on my Macbook and added all the videos and videoPodcasts back to my iTunes library and while they play in iTunes just fine they don't sync to iPod anymore... The error message says:
'Some of the videos in your iTunes library, including video "..." were not copied to the iPod " X " because they cannot be played on this iPod.'
And as said - in the past these same videos and video podcasts were playing just fine on this very same iPod... Can anyone help?
All the audio library is being synced and plays perfectly well on iPod. And games too.

Andrew, have you tried re-installing QuickTime? That might fix it. Download it from Apple:

Contacts created on my iPhone won't sync anymore (iOS 6 & 10.6.8)

Contacts created on my iPhone don't sync with Mac (= are not visible in Address Book).
I have this problem since I made the iOS 6 update (iPhone 4 / iOS 6.1.2 / Mac OS 10.6.8 / iTunes 11.0.2 / USB sync).
I tried disabling / enabling Contacts sync in iTunes. No effect.
Using iCloud and/or upgrading to Lion is not a solution for me.

The only clue I've got is the following: using a freeware to backup my phone contacts (by searching in the backup file of the phone created by iTunes), I noticed that the freeware finds the same number of contacts (856) on my phone that Address Book displays on the Mac — yet the iPhone should have 2 more (or the mac 2 less), since I created 2 contacts on the phone that don't display on the mac. So maybe, just maybe, it's a "visibility attribute" problem? I'm not technician.
This issue is very irritating, basically there's no "synchronization" per se anymore.

There have been some reports of this with iTunes 9.1. There is a new update that may fix it. Use the "check for updates" in the iTunes Help menu.
If that fails try completely uninstalling iTunes as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925, download the latest iTunes from the Apple site, then reboot and install the downloaded iTunes. Be sure Outlook is not running during the removal or installation processes.
Oh, BEFORE you do any of the above make sure iTunes is still set to sync with Outlook (on the Info tab). Try the simple stuff first!

Some apps don't play anymore

we've downloaded & kept eighteen apps - the last today ... now I find some of the earlier ones, which used to work fine, don't play anymore - ie: tap them, the screen goes blank (dark or mostly white) for a second or two, then it's the home screen again ... we paid good money for some of them, too ... grrh !
Examples of the ones that don't play now are two expensive Ultralingua dictionaries (English & German-English) & Digital Clock ...
anyone know a cure, please - I daren't update the wife's iPhone if this is going to happen to hers, too ! ?

thanks, I'll give it ago ... deleting them is easy, tapping the x of each app on the iPhone home screen, reinstalling them is less obvious - by disconnecting & reconnecting / sync'ing again, I've managed to re-install one app, but not the rest, yet ... I'll keep trying, various things !
PS: OK - I worked out how to do it (tap the crosses on the iPhone home screens to delete, then tick the appropriate boxes in the iTunes / iPhone / Applications listing to re-install) - not all that obvious / intuitive, until one's done it !

Each time you sync photos from a computer to an iPhone using iTunes, the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone are set to match the current settings/selections on the photos page of iTunes. If you moved your previously synced photos to the new computer and if you select them to be synced to the phone along with any new photos you want synced then they will all go to the phone. If you don't include them in the selection to be synced, they will be deleted from the phone. Note that you can rearrange the old photos into different photos on the computer if desired, sync just some of them if desired, etc. Each time you sync, the phone is set to match the current settings for photos.

Faces is not working anymore

got macbook a few months ago, and faces has been working fine, until the computer suddenly got frozen and needs to restart while i was transferring photos from camera to iphoto.
After this, some of the photos were lost, and faces no longer works.
the corkboard is now the demo version; the previous photos that i have added faces on, the names still remain. however, faces does not detect any faces anymore - and if i do add missing faces, it never gets saved. and when i tried to add a missing face onto the previously saved faces, then the previously existing name gets lost as well.
but i still often see the faces getting the synced/scanned little symbol on its side.
can someone help me to get faces working again.

Sounds like your Library database file was damaged at that point.
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
