Faces images in Photos Library

It seems that iPhone has taken the zoomed and cropped photo that's used for Faces and imported it in to my Photo library.
Also, I have a ton of duplicates all of the sudden. I went from 4,000 photos to over 9,000. Old photos that were previously deleted are now in my library.
Any idea what could happen? It's going to take me days to fix this now.

So far, I've found out that if I choose to View Event Titles, all the duplicates and zoomed in faces go away.
I'm really not a fan of Apple's photo management software any longer.

Photos 1.0 not showing all images from Photos Library.photoslibrary folder/file after update install

I installed the update that changed my iPhoto to Photos 1.0, and the new Photos program is not showing all images from Photos Library.photoslibrary file/folder (not sure to call it file or folder since it is actually a folder with all my pics but it acts more like a file) after update install. The Photos Library.photoslibrary file/folder shows to be 55 gb in size, and it shows to be loaded into the photos program, but there are maybe a few weeks of pictures showing instead of a few years. Lots of pictures in the 55 gb are not showing for some reason.

No - iPhotos has not replaced anything - it is new and an addition - iPhoto is still on your system in the applications folder and still works just fine
Outlook is not supported by Photos - not sure if the support must come form Apple or MS as Photos uses a different interface to external packages than iphoto did

N8 (and 5800) unwanted images in Photo library

Hello,
I've installed the Podcatcher app on my new N8 and something is happening that used to happen with a number of apps on my old 5800, particularly social networking apps and the last.fm scrobbler called Mobbler.
That is, every image they download gets added to my photo library. Is there any way of making this not happen any more? It's really tedious deleting them all every time I use it - I more or less entirely stopped using FaceBook on my 5800 because of this issue.

I don't know about y-browser or x-plorer. More software to download and install?
As for creating a sub-folder - would that mean they wouldn't get added again? In effect that means I'm managing Podcatcher's image cache by hand, and I'm not getting paid for it. Grumble grumble. I really like the phone, but little stuff like this takes so more time and effort than it should!

Removing photos/images from Photo Library (not camera roll) on the 3g iphon

Okay,
So i have removed all photos from camera roll one by one......... Now for the photo library, i want remove all pics from that,some are photos i took, some are shots i saved off facebook etcc.... while on the iphone safari browser.
but i have no idea what to do as there is no delete option on the phone for that folder....there is for camera roll, why they didnt have that function in photo library is beyond me...............
So basically could anyone tell me how to solve this problem, im desperate at this stage.
Im using a pc by the way, but dont hate on me for that

How to get photos from Photo Library, an album on iPhone, into iPhoto on desktop mac

Hi, this would seem simple, but somehow it's not.
I have ~1500 photos on my iPhone in a separate album. They were synced previously with an iTunes library, that I have now lost for good. The images are still on my iPhone and I want to transfer them to the iPhoto library.
My question is...
how do I transfer the images from 'Photo Library' on my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.0.1) to my desktop?
When iPhone is connected to desktop and iPhoto is open, under Devices, it does not list the 'Photo Library' that I want to import, but it does list photos on the iPhone that I have taken prior to losing the iTunes library.
I tried iPhoto Library Manager, but it does not allow me to connect to the iPhone

Have you saved those iTunes library photos on your iPhone to the Camera Roll?

My iPhoto images won't show, and Photo Library Repair will not open when I command-Option-click on the iPhoto icon.

Some of my iPhoto albums will not show, as below:
When I click on any of those individual albums, for a brief split second I can see the images displayed, but then they revert to this:

I have real a lot of posts that say to click Command+Option while opening iPhoto and this will open the Photo Library Repair window, but... this is not happening. Each time I do it, iPhoto just opens as it normally does. I've tried about 10 times, closing iPhoto completely. I've tried through the dock icon and through the applications listing. Neither will open anything other than regular old iPhoto.
Can anyone help me and suggest what I may be doing wrong, or are there any alternative was to open Photo Library Repair so I can rebuild my library? I really don't want to lose all of those photos, especially since some are really important and irreplaceable.

Be sure you're holding the correct keys and that you're holding them long enough. Depress them before clicking on iPhoto and don't let go until the menu shows up.
If you don't want to lose those photos, make a back up now. Hopefully it's not too late.

HT4927 When i upgraded from 9.2.3 to 9.3.1 I had migration issues, where most my photos ended up in a restored event called restored photos. But then they don't come up in faces anymore. So can i upgrade to 9.3.2 and then just rebuild my photo library ?

Best way is to restore your backup from before the problem, rebuild it and update it again

Are they really duplicates or are you simply referring to the Photo Library?
Just as a song is in your itunes library and the exact same song can be accessed via a playlist, all synced photos are in the Photo Library and those exact same photos ( not duplicates) can be accessed from the chose folder/album.
You delete these pica the same way you put them there. The sync process. Deselect them in itunes and sync.

What version of iPhoto?
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

When what is clicked?
There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. It simply mirrors the selected content of the computer to which it is synced.
Again, the photo sync is one way.
Did you fail to maintain a backup copy of your old computer?
Not good. You can e-mail the photos from your iphone. You do not need to have phoe service for this. The iphone uses wi-fi. The photos will never be of the original quality, as they are reduced when synced to iphone.

What is your iPhoto version? And what happened to delete your photos?
Do you mean, you see the images in your iPhoto library, when you are browsing them, but you cannot edit them?
Then probably the original master image files are no longer there, but the previews are. If you are using iPhoto '11 you can see the Previews inside the iPhoto Library in the folder "Previews", when you ctrl-click the iPhoto Library and select "Show Package Contents".

After a rebuild/repair of my photo library thumbnails are missing for RAW images.

Every few months I rebuild my iPhoto library to make sure the database stays clean and up to day. This time was different though - after the rebuild/repair of my photo library thumbnails are missing for all RAW images (Canon). Images from other cameras and jpegs are all fine. Only the events with Canon RAW images have no thumbnails.
I am rebuilding the thumbnails once again but has anyone else seen this issue? Losing thumbnails to RAW images during a rebuild?

There is no need to do this. It doesn't achieve anything.
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

My purpose is access to "Photo Library" by iPhone API.
Because, I know several iPhone application which has own image list and the list is synced to "Photo Library".
If I take photo by iPhone native camera, the taken photo is listed up on the image list so I guess those applications can access to "Photo Library" directly.
Or.. any other solution..?

Photo library beta - syncing images to icloud takes forever

I started using the icloud photo library (beta) yesterday and my phone is still uploading photos. My phone has been on a wifi network for the better part of the last 24 hours and still it's only managed to upload about 230 of 800 images/videos. It seems that most of the images uploaded during the night, but the last 12 hours it has been stuck at "uploading 560 images". Anyone know what the problem might be? Or if there even is a probIem? Might it just be that this service is extremely slow? I have an iphone 5 with ios 8.1.2.

Ok, so here's a solution to this issue:
Backed up my iPhone on iTunes
Did a factory reset on iPhone
Restored the thing from previous backup
Re-entered all my passwords and such
Now it's syncing again.
The whole procedure took me about two hours.
No idea why this happened. Beta, I guess.
