Faces missing from contacts

In the past, when editing Contacts, you could select a photo from iPhoto. There was a "Faces" item to get the photo from iPhoto. Now I am running Mountain Lion and this is gone. What happened? is this a bug?

No it's not a bug. Try Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilty) - Repair Disk Permissions.

Places and Faces missing from iPhone

I use Aperture and tag all my Faces from there. I also use several cameras which geotag my photos, so Places is working in Aperture, too. However, on my Phone (iOS 7), neither Places nor Faces are appearing. I understand they are supposed to be displayed in the Albums view, but they're not there. Thoughts?

Turns out that somehow, at some point, my iPhone stopped synchronizing with Aperture. Once I restarted synchronization through iTunes, normal functionality returned.

How do I re-add the faces to my iPhoto? they are all issing, and when I go to the add function, the faces are missing on the ones that I try to asdd as well.

1 - the "latest version" in not a version - the version is a number like 8.5.2 - it is important to actually know what version you do have
2 - reinstalling iPhoto is probalby not a solution to this - it is probaly data problem not an aplicaion problem
3 - check on the Time Machine icon in the top tray and see when you last backup was made - a good backup is the only way to assure you do not lose photos - and eerything else
4 - Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your database

Projects and Faces missing from Photos on iPhone

Recently Projects and Faces stopped syncing with my iPhone 4. Only Albums and Places show up on the device. I noticed this when I upgraded to iOS 4.0.2, but it is was a few days before that when I had last looked at photos on my phone. My iPhone is setup to sync photos with Aperture 3. I have faces and projects selected to sync in iTunes and it was working fine until recently. I have tried disabling photo syncing, deleting all photos and re-inabling syncing with no results. Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

I don't sync to aperture but I have noticed the iPhone is syncing more faces than I set it to. I would just check to make sure the info page of iTunes hasn't been set to default a different photo syncing scheme as in restoring the sync to iPhoto. Does the phone show up in iPhoto as a connected camera device?

Why is the Edit and + feature missing in Contacts?

Since updating my iPhone 4 to iOS 5 the "Edit" and "+" feature is missing from Contacts.

Already tried that and it did not fix/repair the issue. From other similar posts I gather it might be that the Contacts on my iPhone are ONLY on my iPhone. I do not sync them with my home computer (no longer an option especially in that iCloud is not supporting Windows XP) and do not sync with my work computer because I prefer not to have 600 contacts on my iPhone. The problem only appeared after updating to iOS 5, so I am surmising it has something to do with that and the features of or expectations that everyone will migrate to iClould. Sort of BS if that is the case because it appears I am being given no choice but to upgrade my home computer to Windows 7 (or a Mac) and put everything on the cloud.

I, too, love everything about my phone. The other day I tried to crash my Z10 by running multiple apps and having videos running in the background. Do you think my Z10 showed any signs of slowing down? Nothing doing! It ran as smooth as silk. I'm very impressed.

HT204150 Contacts missing from iCloud on PC

Installed Office 2010 yesterday on Inspiron 620, Windows 7. Contacts missing from PC but are in iCloud and showing up on iPad. Checked the icloud, signed off and back on. Still do not show up. Were there before the Office installation. I see iCloud on control panel but not in programs. It showed in programs before ioffice install as well as on control panel. Not sure if it is really still installed because I see it one place but not another. Thanks.

FACE TIME APP MISSING FROM GULF VERSION I PAD 2

I bought an I pad 2 From Abu Dhabi (gulf) and after i realized that the face time application is missing from it.and later on i find out the face time is not available in any gulf country.so my question is if i take this i pad to Australia is it possible to install the face time application on my i pad?if any one could help me out please... thanks.....

FaceTime is disabled in the Middle East. You cannot get it installed. The best thing to do is return it, but i think they might not accept it as return policies only apply when a product is defective. Which your iPad is clearly not.

I am trying to move a "face" photo from IPhoto to the picture well in a contact in my "Contacts". Can't drag directly from iPhoto to picture well. How do I do it?

I am tring to move a "face" photo from IPhote to the picture well in a contact from my "Contacts list". I followed directions in Help but Cannot double click the picture well then drag a photo. It won't accept it directly from IPhoto. Once you double click on the picture well then click on the photo (in another application-IPhoto) it apparently negates the double click on the picture well. The only place it will take a picture from is the "recents" that you get when you double click on the picture well in contacts. How do I get the photo to the "recents" or to the picture well?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article has instructions for changing a contact's photo using a photo from iPhoto's Faces feature:
Contacts: Add or change contact pictures

Select a contact or your own card, and then double-click the picture well.
Select a picture:
Drag an image to the picture well.
Click Camera to take a picture.
If you have pictures in iPhoto, click the Faces button to use a face from iPhoto.
If the contact is linked (it’s in multiple accounts, but displayed only once in Contacts) and has multiple account pictures, click Linked.
Click Edit to edit the picture.
To zoom in and out of the picture, drag the slider. Drag the picture to change which part of it is visible.
To rotate the picture, hold down the Option key while you click and drag the picture.
To apply special effects, click the Effects Gallery button and choose an effect.
Click Done.

Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Start by answering the questions.
Picking up old contacts where - are you referring to the email address autofill feature when addressing an email?
Did you transfer the backup for your old iPhone to your new iPhone?
Are you accessing an email account on your iPhone that provides over the air syncing for contacts such as a Yahoo account, Gmail account, or a MobileMe/iCloud account?
I am seeing contacts that I know are at least a year old, and current contacts in my Macs address book are not being sync'd up.
Does this mean syncing contacts with the Address Book on your Mac is not selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes? If so, has this ever been selected with your new iPhone? Deslecting this after it was selected does not remove contacts from your iPhone.

On a MacBook Air is it possible to transfer the photos shown on Faces to my Contact cards and thus to my iPhone5?

I'm new at this so please bear with me. I had photos on each of my contacts at one time but have no idea how I got them there. I would like to move the little square photos from Faces to my Contact cards but cannot seem to figure out how to do it. There are icons for moving photos to almost anywhere but Contacts. I always try dragging first because that was once the answer to every problem but so far it hasn't worked. I also wanted to know if there is a setting to have the iPhone show the photo of the person calling so I know who it is without my readers on. Yes, you got it..........I am aged and perhaps a little slow with this stuff but I'm still trying'!

I am able to drag photos from iPhoto to Contacts on my MacBook Air. I resize the iPhoto window to make it smaller, open Contacts, select the Contact in question and click the Edit button at the lower right of the contact. I then drag the photo from iPhoto.
The step that I'm guessing that you might be missing is clicking the Edit button at the lower right of the contact.

As I have browsed the internet for hours and haven't come up with a solution I'm asking for some help.

That error seems to indicate that the JNLP file is broken because it is missing the starting starting <jnlp> XML tag; I'll take a guess and just say that it is completely empty. Since it works for other users, apparently somehow when you download it on your computer you end up with a broken file. No idea why, no way for me to know why either. I don't have access to your computer. All I can say is: try in another browser and if that doesn't work, try on another computer. If it works there, well then you may have to face the fact that your computer might need a clean install.
And PS: this is a Java programming forum, not technical support for whatever game you want to play that just happens to use Java.
