FaceTime activation, couldnt sign in.
I live in Penang, Malaysia. I tried to sign in FaceTime using ipad2, but it says "FaceTime activation, could not sign in, please check your network connection and try again." I was able to use safari, and my network connection is working great. I saw some discussions say that changing the DNS will solve this problem, but I tried to change my DNS to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and another dns but it still not working.
pls help me, thanks .
Hi, I'm not using wifi+3G, I'm using ipad2 with wifi only. And streamyx network connection.

I cannot sign in FaceTime , it keeps on saying an error occurred during activation, please sign in again
Hey!
I too was facing the same problem but have found a solution for it. The problem is most likely because of the 'Date & Time' setting. Change to setting to 'Set Automatically' and then try reconnecting to facetime/imessage.
Hope this helps you as it did to me. -
Cannot get on iMessage or FaceTime I get this message "FaceTime Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again
Try something really simple.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Or try this as well. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure it is set to On.
@Freckles888 ..... I really doubt that "millions of others" are having this problem. I think that news would be all over the airwaves and Apple would be taking more heat about it that we can imagine. -
FaceTime Activation Could not sign in
Hi,
i bought ipod touch 4g for facetime.
and i can't activate it!
it stops on ipod>settings>Facetime='FaceTime Activation, Could not sign in. Please Check your network connection and try again.'
i have used all the solutions for facetime but all in vain.
1) Time and date settings Check (even change them and again corrected)
2) All Ports are open verified with simple port tester (on windows 7 off course i changed the ip address)Ports are open.
3) My Apple id is email (not ME one) contain combination of alpha numeric, small and capital.
4) Restore 2/3 times ios 4.2.1
5) Tried DNS Setting to Google's 8.8.8.8,8.8.4.4
6) Created New ID in facetime and password entered carefully!
7) Tried 3 apple IDs (i don't like this But i wanted to run facetime)
i also have Iphone 4 facetime works great on it! i love this feature!
i tried to install Tango on Ipod! it installed but stops responding connecting (on Ipod touch 4), so tango also not working. i am just informing about tango. I want facetime to wrok.
Please Help me! I think this is from Apple server side problem!
Thanks in AdvanceYou may want to ask your question under a new discussion thread so you can be the Original Poster(OP) there. You will continue to receive emails from the other threads you have posted to. I think it will allow folks responding to focus on your particular situation. Also you will have to post your troubleshooting results only once.
Now that you are past the FaceTime login step, where are you in the troubleshooting steps in the iOS:Using FaceTime article at http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/facetime/?
Again, if you can ask and answer in a new thread/topic, that would be great. -

Facetime activation ipod touch could not sign in
Hi Everyone,
Just got a new ipod touch. It has the latest iOS - 5.0.1. I am able surf the web fine and am connected to wifi. Everytime, I try to connect to facetime I get this message: FaceTime Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again. It doesn't matter what user name and password I use, I still get the same error. I have created new user names and still have the same issues. I have reset all of the settings and still have the same problem. I can get to the App store without a problem. I also cannot use texting.
Please help!
Thanks in advance for any help that you can provide.Hi skenneth,

HT204380 FaceTime Activation An error occurred during activation
Trying to log into FaceTime on a new iPod Touch. When I enter my apple id and pass, I get the following error message. "FaceTime Activation...An error occurred during activation. Try Again." I know the apple id and pass are correct, any suggestions.
You may have tried this already, but I was having this same issue too, I messed with it for about an hour, then restarted my phone and signed in again and it worked. Hope it works for you too.

Facetime login issue - "Facetime activation"
I purchased a new large iPad and restored it from my old iPad using my computer. For some reason the Facetime on a new iPad took the wrong email, but when I try to change it to my actual email I get this error:
Facetime Activation
Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again.
I've been trying the whole day yesterday. Obviously my network connection is OK.
Any idea how to fix this?I actually got it working. They wanted me to change my password. So who would've thought??? Once I logged in through this page https://appleid.apple.com/ and changed it, everything started to work again.
PS. Evidently we have to pay for Apple's inability to keep celebrity nudes private by changing our passwords now. I just wish that they clearly labeled it. -
Installed ios8.1.1 on Ipad and try to sign in to face time with correct Apple ID and correct password
and get dialog box
FaceTime Activation
An error occurred during activation. Try
again
OKLooks like that may have fixed it. Let me do some testing before I mark it as solved.
Thanks for the help. -

FaceTime can't sign in.
FaceTime can't sign in with good Apple ID.
If you changed your password, and that stopped it working, you might like to try this idea, that worked for me, after nothing else would.
::Log out and back in to iTunes on your Mac/PC.
I had exactly the same problems as above, and no amount of network changes or even a full restore would help.
Finally, I went back to my PC, launched iTunes, logged OUT of that, then signed in again, this time with the new password.
Then I had to go back, and properly close Facetime and iMessages and sign in. It worked fine after that.
(To properly close an application, double click the home button, then hold down on the facetime app logo in the multitasking bar at the bottom, then press the tiny symbol.)
Best of luck. -

Facetime activity in console Macbook Air
I found Facetime activity in console on my Macbook Air. I have never used Facetime and nobody else has access to this Macbook as it is a work laptop. I have never used Facetime on any other device that I use my Apple ID for. Is there another app that accesses Facetime or is this an update? I don't want my employer to think that I am using Facetime on my company Macbook. Here is an excerpt from console of what I have found:

The first time that this showed up was on 12/19/14 at 1:15 am and I have had this Macbook since 6/14. Using Yosemite 10.10.2Monagle,
Make sure that you have the date and time set properly on your MacBook Air. If the timezone settings are off, Facetime will not work. I surely hope that you can FT with your relatives in the "old Sod" before Christmas is over.
