FaceTime activation problems in Cyprus

Question

I recently purchased two Sim-free iPhone 4s from the UK and brought them to Cyprus.
i was really eager to try FaceTime so after registering them and everything i tried activating Facetime. One of the phones which is with the carrier CYTA mobile Vodafone works fine and activates FaceTime immediate i had to switch it on and of once. The other phone with MTN won't activate it and i get a video_..... something but stays on waiting for activation. I tried swapping the Sim cards and the CYTA card activates on the other phone as well. SMS works fine i can send and receive but it won't activate facetime.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what i can do, or tell me network provider to do?

Not sure exactly what the deal is here, but you do not activate Facetime. Once your new phone is available for use, meaning that it has been activated with a cellular provider for regular phone service and synced with iTunes, and all your contacts etc have been transferred to the phone, you should be able to make Facetime calls. Facetime only works over Wi-Fi, so once both phones are on Wi-Fi just go to your contacts, select the name of the contact for the other phone that you want to establish Facetime with, scroll all the way to the bottom of the contact page, there you will see a Facetime button, tap that button and a window with all the contact numbers for that person will appear, tap the number that is available for Facetime, you will hear some chimes on your phone and the other phone should ring as though it is receiving a regular phone call. You do not need to make a cellular call to establish Facetime. If you have never had a Facetime conversation with that contact number before, there will be no camera icon beside the number that applies, after your first Facetime that particular number will show a camera icon.
Check to ensure that Facetime is on by going into Settings-Phone-Facetime-select on/off. If you are already aware of what I have written, then it is possible that the cellular service in Cyprus does not allow their numbers to work with Facetime as yet, but remember that it only works on wi-fi at present.
