FaceTime Activation

I cannot activate FaceTime on my iMac desktop or on my iPad. I changed the password for my Apple ID, but still get the same result 'Could not sign in. Please chgeck your network connection and try again'  There is nothing wrong with my connection - iTunes is open & I am in the iStore. I also have my gmail account open and have no problems accessing my mail. I have read comments from other users, but these did not assist. Anyone out there know the solution?

SSo what was the secret answer that no one can find on this or any other site? It's really getting on my nerves???

Trying to log into FaceTime on a new iPod Touch. When I enter my apple id and pass, I get the following error message. "FaceTime Activation...An error occurred during activation. Try Again." I know the apple id and pass are correct, any suggestions.

You may have tried this already, but I was having this same issue too, I messed with it for about an hour, then restarted my phone and signed in again and it worked. Hope it works for you too.

Cannot get on iMessage or FaceTime I get this message "FaceTime Activation: Could not sign in.  Please check your network connection and try again

    Try something really simple.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Or try this. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Or try this as well. Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>On. Make sure it is set to On.
@Freckles888 ..... I really doubt that "millions of others" are having this problem. I think that news would be all over the airwaves and Apple would be taking more heat about it that we can imagine.

You may want to ask your question under a new discussion thread so you can be the Original Poster(OP) there. You will continue to receive emails from the other threads you have posted to. I think it will allow folks responding to focus on your particular situation. Also you will have to post your troubleshooting results only once.
Now that you are past the FaceTime login step, where are you in the troubleshooting steps in the iOS:Using FaceTime article at http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/facetime/?
Again, if you can ask and answer in a new thread/topic, that would be great.

  • Facetime login issue - "Facetime activation"

I purchased a new large iPad and restored it from my old iPad using my computer. For some reason the Facetime on a new iPad took the wrong email, but when I try to change it to my actual email I get this error:
    Facetime Activation
Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again.
I've been trying the whole day yesterday. Obviously my network connection is OK.
Any idea how to fix this?

I actually got it working. They wanted me to change my password. So who would've thought??? Once I logged in through this page https://appleid.apple.com/ and changed it, everything started to work again.
PS. Evidently we have to pay for Apple's inability to keep celebrity nudes private by changing our passwords now. I just wish that they clearly labeled it.

  • FaceTime Activation on Ipad

Installed ios8.1.1 on Ipad and try to sign in to face time with correct Apple ID and correct password
    and get dialog box

An error occurred during activation.  Try
    again

Looks like that may have fixed it.  Let me do some testing before I mark it as solved.
    Thanks for the help.

  • Facetime activity in console Macbook Air

I found Facetime activity in console on my Macbook Air. I have never used Facetime and nobody else has access to this Macbook as it is a work laptop. I have never used Facetime on any other device that I use my Apple ID for. Is there another app that accesses Facetime or is this an update? I don't want my employer to think that I am using Facetime on my company Macbook. Here is an excerpt from console of what I have found:

The first time that this showed up was on 12/19/14 at 1:15 am and I have had this Macbook since 6/14. Using Yosemite 10.10.2

    Monagle,
Make sure that you have the date and time set properly on your MacBook Air.  If the timezone settings are off, Facetime will not work.  I surely hope that you can FT with your relatives in the "old Sod" before Christmas is over.

  • Strange Facetime activation error

I have followed with interest the issues surrounding Facetime activation problems. I have one I have not yet seen. My new IPOD Touch G4 will not activate facetime. I get the most unusual error message:
unable to verify email because it is already in use
Anyone have any train of thought on what this could be?
    thanks

Perhaps it is because the same email address was inadvertently registered with a different password.
I would try using another email address, even if you have to create a new one.

  • IOS 5 facetime activation

    Ok. Here is the problem:
I put my friend's sim card to my iPhone.
After this, I cannot activate facetime. I tried general reset, hard reset, sim card change, restore from iTunes.
The thing is that when I turn on the toggle for facetime it says "Waiting for activation" and after a minute or two above my email is my friend's number.
Well, I suppose that this is the reason why Apple won't authorize my facetime activation. I checked Settings > Phone and my phone is entered corectly.
My carrier is T-Mobile in Croatia, facetime is supported on this location.
    What should I do?
    I need help.
    Thnx in advance!

Is your carrier an officail iPhone carrier that supports all iPhone functions?  Many non-official iPhones carriers won't support FaceTime activation on iPhones (even though it uses WiFi for connection).

  • Imessage and facetime activation failed

    Hi Everyone,
Just got a new ipod touch. It has the latest iOS - 5.0.1. I am able surf the web fine and am connected to wifi. Everytime, I try to connect to facetime I get this message: FaceTime Activation: Could not sign in. Please check your network connection and try again. It doesn't matter what user name and password I use, I still get the same error. I have created new user names and still have the same issues. I have reset all of the settings and still have the same problem. I can get to the App store without a problem. I also cannot use texting.
