FaceTime and iphone cellular calls not working

I have upgraded to OSX Yosemite and iPhone to iOS 8.1. Before upgrading to iOS 8.1 the option of checking iPhone cellular calls in both mac and iPhone FaceTime was coming, but now that option itself isn't available. What is the solution and possible region?

This seems to have stopped working on my iPhone/Mac, too. Anyone else having this issue since the last update?

Hi guys, can you help me about my problem? My Facetime on Iphone 4 is not working  after The update to IOS7       Thanks xxx

    Hey Junie1387,
Thanks for the question. I understand you are experiencing issues with FaceTime. The following articles may help to resolve your issue:

You may also want to reset your network settings:
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
Note: this will delete any network related settings (saved Wi-Fi passwords, etc), it will not erase any content from your device.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • IPhone Cellular Calls not appearing in Settings menu

Today, the iPhone Cellular Call feature completely disappeared on both my iPhone (5s) and my MacBook Pro (Early 2011). It had been working ever since I upgraded to both Yosemite and iOS 8.1, but now it simply doesn't work anymore. I went into the Preferences menu of FaceTime on my Mac, and the checkbox for iPhone Cellular Calls was gone. After restarting the Mac, it was there again, checked like I had left it. Unfortunately, I had no such luck after restarting my iPhone. The Cellular Call feature is supposed to be located under Settings -> FaceTime, but it's not there, and I've restarted the phone three times trying to get it to reappear like it did on my Mac.
Both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, though the Mac recently had some network connectivity issues that I resolved by disconnecting and then reconnecting. I did the same on my iPhone just in case.
It is worth noting that I am still able to receive SMS messages on the Mac, but cannot send.
EDIT: Also, Wi-Fi Calls are disabled under Settings -> Phone, as I was told they should be.

It appears I'm now in. What I had to do was sign out of iCloud on both Macs and then sign back in again. I'm a little confused as to why I have seemingly got two email addresses for the same iCloud account. One is my personal email account and the other is the @icloud.com email account. I am still able to sign in to iCloud with my personal one though?!

  • IPhone 4 calls not working after coming out of an area with no reception

I bought my boyfriend an iPhone and for some reason, everytime he has to use the subway and come out to make a call (with full reception), the call itself will not go through. It also "locks" the phone app so that when he exits it completely and deletes it from the background programs and re-opens it, he still can't make calls. It use to be that he turn off the phone, and turn it back on, and that reset the problem, now that doesn't work. We tried resetting his phone, factory restoring it, factory restoring it to new phone, and nothing so far has worked because as soon as his reception cuts out and he regains reception, the phone has the same problem. Even text messaging won't work, it seems to cut the entire reception.
Unfortunately it's past the 1 year now and the warranty with Apple has expired. I bought this phone as a gift and an outright purchase so, as most of you know, that was expensive! I am extremely upset now that a simple function a phone is suppose to have is working so poorly. I have read that others have been experiencing issues with making phone calls, whether it's outgoing calls being muted, etc. and all Apple tells them is to bring their phone in to an Apple Genius and get a new phone. There seems to be even more issues with making calls every time a new update for the software is release. I work in the cellular business and have tried every form of troubleshooting I know.
If this is a software issue, why has it been going on for so long, and why hasn't apple fixed it in the software patches? Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I really need his phone up and running, we're both phone dependent, both with iPhone 4, and both extremely unhappy.

I don't know the laws in Qatar, but in most countries there's nothing illegal about it, and nothing Apple can do about it unless Carrefour is claiming to be an authorized Apple dealer.
It's difficult to identify the country in which an iPhone was originally sold. A list that purports to list model numbers and countries of release can be found here, but there are no guarantees that the list is accurate. Again, please note that probably will not be able to send the iPhone directly to the service center in another country; most if not all will not accept an out-of-country shipment and will not ship a replacement out of that country.
Otherwise, you'll have to try to negotiate with Carrefour.
    Regards.

  • Facetime and Photo Booth will not work in my regular user account.

The camera is not recognized.  In Facetime preferences is greyed out.  If I switch accounts it works fine. What now?

If it works with the other account, the Flash Player is installed and able to work properly.
There's something with the admin account that's blocking it.
What that could be, is not possible to troubleshoot in a forum environment, unfortunately.

  • When I was updating I Phone version 4  from iTunes. it got stuck in middle of updating, after uninstall the version 3 and new version 4 was not installed. Now iTunes is not detecting the iphone and my iphone is also not working n showing connection cable

When i was updating i phone version 4 from Itunes. It got stuck in middle of updating, after uninstall the version3. But new version was not installed. Now itunes is not detecting the iphone and iphone is also not working and showing connection cable with itunes. Pls help..

Check your system for possible Malware. But you have to do it in WIndows Safe Mode.
(Do not use your own Anti-virus to SCAN)
Start your computer in "Safe mode with networking", go to this link download a free version of Malwarebyte.
    http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free
Install and perform update immediately, then do a full SCAN. Remove malware if it indeed finds any. Restart computer to regular windows to let Malwarebyte complete the removal.
To start your computer in safe mode
Press and hold the F8 key as your computer starts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.
On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the "safe mode with networking" option, and then press Enter. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.
When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of your screen. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

  • Wi-Fi Calling / iPhone Cellular Calls from other devices

I have two new iPhones 6 models.  Both are on T-Mobile and running 8.0.2.  One is gray and one is white.
When I tried to setup wifi calling on the gray phone (from the Phone settings screen), I got the following warning:
"If you turn on Wi-Fi calling, your other devices will no longer be able to make or receive calls through your iPhone."
This was not an implication that I expected, but I nevertheless selected "OK" and moved on.  When I tried to turn "iPhone Cellular Calls" back on (from the FaceTime settings screen), I got this warning:
"Wi-Fi calling will be turned off to allow other devices to make and receive calls through your iPhone."
In any event, what is strange is that the white iPhone did not give me these warnings--both wifi calling and "iPhone Cellular Calls" appear to be on/activated on the white phone.
    So, my questions:
    1)     Is wifi calling not allowed if you have iPhone Cellular Calls turned on?  If not, why not?
    2)     Why the inconsistency between the two phones?

Okay.  And, what else do you need to do to enable the Continuity feature that allows you make/receive phone calls on your iPad via your iPhone?
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using ...
    Phone calls
With Continuity, you can make and receive cellular phone calls from your iPad, iPod touch, or Mac when your iPhone is on the same Wi-Fi network.
To make and receive phone calls, here's what you need:
Sign in to the same iCloud account on all your devices, including your Mac.
Your iPhone and your iPad or iPod touch need to use iOS 8 or later. Your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
All devices must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
All devices must be signed in to FaceTime using the same iCloud account. This means any device that shares your Apple ID will get your phone calls. Look below for instructions on how to turn off iPhone cellular calls.
Wi-Fi Calling needs to be off. Go to Settings > Phone. If you see Wi-Fi Calling, turn it off.
    Turn off iPhone cellular calls
To turn off iPhone cellular calls on your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off iPhone Cellular Calls.
On your Mac, open the FaceTime app and go to FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings and deselect the iPhone Cellular Calls option.

  • TS3367 I cannot get my iPhone 4S to connect to iMessage n FaceTime have tried all the tips online and it's still not working ? It's just saying  waiting for activation

I cannot get my iPhone 4S to connect to iMessage n FaceTime have tried all the tips online and it's still not working ? It's just saying  waiting for activation

What tips have you tried so far?   Just so we don't waste our time telling you things you've already done.
When you respond, also indicate which country and carrier you're using.   Also, is your phone brand new?  can you make a phone call / access the internet while on cellular?

  • FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.

FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.
This is the error message I receive when I try to add my phone to my Mac for proximity / FaceTime audio calling.  This feature worked until I changed my Apple ID.  I have updated my Apple ID everywhere I can think of updating it.  I've signed out of Apple ID on my Mac, deleted EVERYTHING (calendars, contacts, etc.), signed back in, etc.  I've done the same with my phone, and even done a power-down / reboot and nada.  I keep getting this message from the Mac.
I can't figure out where else I should look for my old Apple ID to be logged into anything or creating problems.  I've gone over my iPhone and Mac and I'm at a loss.  As an aside (and yes, wrong forum), have lost the ability to do SMS forwarding since the Mac no longer receives the code from my iPhone to allow this feature to work.  This was lost after signing out of the Apple ID on my Mac this afternoon.
Bluetooth is turned on for both devices.  Both devices are on the same WiFi network.  Both devices otherwise appear to be working correctly with the exception of the problems I'm having with FaceTime and iCloud being signed into the same Apple ID (which they are).
    Thanks in advance,

(By the way, I should have pointed out in my earlier posting that I'm running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 on my Mac). I Just installed latest Yosemite update while my iPhone was switched off, and when my Mac restarted, the 'iPhone Cellular Calls' checkbox in the FaceTime preferences was checked and the problem was therefore solved. Switched on my iPhone, still fine. Relief.

  • Cannot Turn On iPhone Cellular Calls - FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.

Cannot Turn On iPhone Cellular Calls - FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.
I *AM* signed into Facetime and iCloud using the same Apple ID.  Why am I receiving this error all of a sudden?  I make calls using my Mac and need this feature.  I have tried disabling and re-enabling both over a dozen times.  TRUST ME, it is NOT user error -- it is Apple releasing features before they are fully ready error!
