FaceTime auto-calling a friend regularly

My friend's iphone keeps receiving missed calls multiple times a day although I never called him. I checked my call history and nothing indicates any call. The calls are interrupted immediately as he never get the chance to hear an ringing (discovers the missed calls when checking the screen). Do you know what might be the cause? Why is he getting automated calls like 4 times every day?

I need my Cellular Data to be on all time. I cannot simply disconnect from the Internet and being cut from all services just to solve this weird problem.

Short Answer: Yes
When they set up facetime, they either used an apple ID, or (for iphone only) their phone number. You call using one of them. An apple id linked email address in my opinion is simpler, as you don't need to worry about country codes and the like. (I have never tried to facetime anyone out of the country, so I will admit I am not sure what you do about country codes.)

If you make a call then tap the Facetime button to connect Facetime, the duration of call up to Facetime connection will be charged under your regular airtime. However, duration during facetime conversation will not consume airtime.
But if you tap the Facetime button on the Contact Page, then the whole duration will not consume airtime.
For Facetime to work, both parties must be connected to wifi.

Facetime International call problems PS

I called my friend in Hong Kong and our Facetime video chat went really well. The next day we both tried and cannot connect. Her call rings, I answer it, it says "connecting" then just dies.

Facetime - failed call

If I try calling a friend and it does not connect through with any rings and gets a "failed call", does this mean that my friend is either busy using Facetime also or does it mean they do not have wi-fi connection? If my friend is using Facetime on their iPad 2 with someone else and I try to call them on my iPhone 4, what kind of message would I get or would it ring normal and they will have the opportunity to ignore the call or let it ring?

If you try to FaceTime with someone who is already in a FaceTime call, you get a message stating that the person is busy at this time. If the person is off of the wi-fi network, the call seems to continuously ring on your end. If the person is online and just not picking up, I think it just rings about 15 times before it tells you that the person is not available. I think the only time I saw call fails was when I had a poor wi-fi connection.

Yes you can do it. I do it with 4 different devices all using the same Apple ID.
You need to associate different email addresses for each device in order to use those email addresses as the "contact at" email address. The reason the calls are dropping on you now is that what you are trying to do is like calling yourself on your own phone.
You can also create new iCloud accounts on each device simply to use for FaceTime, but I'm guessing that the users of the other two devices have their own email addresses which will make this work for you quite easily.

The seems to go against what Gail said and the issue you raised about buying dup apps was my first concern. If this other post is correct, how to I set a different "contact at" in the iPod Touch?

Why Can't I make FaceTime cellular calls on my Mac anymore?

For some reason I can no longer make FaceTime audio calls on my Mac. I receive the following error on my Mac : "IPhone Calls Not Available. Your iPhone must use the same iCloud and FaceTime account."
Of course my iPhone does use the same iCloud and FaceTime account as I have set up on the Mac. I've tried logging out and logging back in. Unchecking and rechecking all of the contact boxes. Nothing.

I had to turn off FaceTime on my iPhone, then turn it back on and change the caller ID from my e-mail address to my phone number. This brought up an option on the computer asking if I wanted to use the phone number with FaceTime. That solved the problem.

To use factime on your Mac, I believe you will need to use your email address to do so instead of your wireless number. Since you can't make calls on the Mac.

Why can't I make any calls on facetime, the call drops after saying connecting for a few seconds. I'm using an iphone 5, 32 GB on IOS 6.0.1 over 3G network in Muscat, Oman. Just to be clear, I was able to make facetime call in Muscat about a week ago.
